15 years before the great war. At the town of the new beginning, a boy with black hair and eyes, different from anyone in the town who has bright hair, the symbol of Angels for the people. Black hair was a symbol of the curse, symbol of the devil. The boy who has the said curse is on the way to buy a bread for his mother who is sick in bed.
“Get out of here monster!”
“You are the one why this town is poor!”
“Just die brat! Die for us! You are evil anyway!”
Those are what he hears while he walks the street. He decided to take a shortcut where it leads to his mother’s friend and the only one who helps them. A little old bar along the corner of the street in the town. He would have knocked at the door but something stopped him from doing so,
“S-sir, I just want to be frank but do you think that serving that curse kid is the reason why no one is going at this bar? I mean, look his cursed and all… ” The voice of the waitress makes him wanting to go back, but he needs to do it for his mother, The only one who cared for him, despite his black hair.
“Aja, you have helped me many times. So I will give you something of an advice, those who treat others badly just because they are different from the society are the evil ones. If you wanted to be one, be my guest but never do it at my place. A customer is a customer no matter what he is.” Said by the bearded bulky man who owns the place.
“Sorry, sir…"
“Now then put a smile on that face before that boy comes in.”
He knocks on the door, The man and the waitress greeted him with a smile on their faces.
“Hey, You're here! Is it the usual?”
“Yes… Mr. Danfir… T-thank you…” The boy almost had a tear from his face but he held it back. Danfir knew it and patted his head.
“Look, whatever they tell you, you are a great kid don’t let them bother you.”
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Thank you, Mr. So much… Someday! Someday I will repay you!” The boy ran quickly so that his mom would be able to eat and drink the medicine he bought from Danfir. When he arrived he made a porridge with a little bit of chicken meat. He put it on the plate at served it with a slice of bread.
This is the boy that everyone calls the devil… what a lie, his mother thought after seeing the kid’s smile while serving the meal he cooked for his sick mother. After a few days, his mother quickly regained her strength and started to work. The boy went uphills since they run a farm their house is near the mountain, he goes there every night and prays as he watched the stars. He always questions himself why is he cursed, even though thankful for his mother, he still asked the gods why his own parents left him. He prayed and prayed that one day at least a single friend would come to him and accept him.
The next night, when he went again and prayed, a little voice of a girl approached him.
“Hey. You are here a lot!” He was shocked that someone approached him, as always he said,
“Sorry… I-I’ll go now!”
“Hey! What you scared of me or something? I’m not a monster you know I won’t eat you!” The little girl approached him and introduced herself.
“I’m Yena! Yena Sjor! You?” The boy just stood silent. Of course, he will, after what he’s been through every day he finds it hard to trust anyone even telling his name.
“You reaaaalllyyy are not friendly you know! You have a great face you should smile more! I mean look! When you grow old for sure you are a handsome guy!” The girl thumbs up and smiled at him.
“You… Are you not scared of me? I mean look at my hair that means I’m cursed… I’m a devil… They said devils are bad…”
“Hmm… Is that what you think? I’ll believe in my own way.”
“Then what do you believe?”
“That you…” she then held his head like a magic his hair turned white. “…are not cursed, instead you are special.” The boy did not notice it. But he felt his heart raised when her hand touched his head.
“C-can I see you here every day?!”
“Hm!” The girl nodded in approval. Since it’s late they said their goodbyes and went home.
They went to see each other every day, they played a lot. After a year…
“It’s been a year… Are we still going to be friends right? I’m glad I met you.”The boy nodded, but he went back from being silent and began to feel lonely.
“My mother and I are going to a faraway place. I don’t think I’ll be able to see you again…” The girl just sat on the ground and watched the stars.
“You know what? It’s been a year and I haven’t got your name. ” the boy sat on the ground too beside the girl.
“Euphi… Euphi Noir. That’s my name.”
“Don’t say that this is our last meeting. We will surely meet again. Someday for sure!” The girl kissed him on the cheeks which left him blushing as the girl stood up and went home.
“Yena… I won’t forget you. I promise.” He said while holding his cheek that’s been kissed.
