"Ouch ouch ouch... Damn, still hurts... "
Ryosuke was lying around at home with nothing particular to do, feeling bored and with time to spare.
"Maybe I should go buy a corn dog..."
As he rolled over towards the dresser, he noticed something wedged in the gap.
"What's this?!"
Though curious, his craving for a corn dog urged him to leave for the convenience store.
He bought two corn dogs and asked for extra ketchup, then headed back home.
"Ryosuke! Hurt yourself again?"
It was the neighbor, someone who had taken care of him since he was little.
"Yeah... my whole body is hurting..."
"How about cleaning my air conditioner once you're better?"
"Sure thing! I'll come over next time."
He nodded in agreement.
Back home, while enjoying his beloved corn dogs, he suddenly remembered the thing stuck in the dresser.
"If it's money, my allowance will increase!"
He tried to reach for it with the corn dog stick but it was just out of reach... Frustrated, Ryosuke went to the kitchen to get a pair of tongs.
"Just a bit more... It's oddly heavy..."
As he pulled it out, it turned out to be a "record."
Moreover, it was an "LP record."

"First time seeing a record... it's surprisingly big."
Looking at the label, he muttered, "Red... hmm, how do you read this?"
"It's Led Zeppelin, Red. Red Zeppelin!"
His dad, a long-haul truck driver, had returned after a long time. Though he was often away, when he returned, he would play with Ryosuke wholeheartedly. Even when they argued, he would forgive and laugh, but he would also seriously discuss the issue and admit his mistakes. Ryosuke loved him dearly.
"Welcome back, Dad!"
"Oh! I thought I lost this, but here it is! Good to see it!"
"It's the first time I've seen a record... What's Led Zeppelin?"
"Oh, you guys don't know about them in your generation?"
"Nope."
His dad lit a cigarette and took a sip of beer, then, with a puff, said, "Ah, Led Zeppelin was the legendary band at the peak of the hard rock era."
Despite being tired from his journey, his dad seemed rejuvenated after seeing the record.
"I used to idolize Zeppelin back then and even played in a band."
"When was that?"
"That's when I met your mother..."
"Back then, I even had long hair like theirs."
"But not anymore?"
"I did when I was young!"
"Can't we listen to this record?"
"We don't have a player."
"Dad, can I borrow this record? I'll ask Akashi, the guy at the antique shop, if he can play it for us tomorrow!"
"Sure, but be careful. Records are fragile."
Ryosuke hurriedly handled it carefully.
The next day...
"Hey! Let's go to Akashi's shop after school!"
"What's interesting there?"
"Ta-da!"
He proudly showed the LP record.
"Wow, a record! Where did you get that?"
"It's my dad's."
"Seems like it's some amazing music. Let's go check it out!"
"Can't school just end already?"
As they finally finished their classes and hurried towards the school gate...
"You guys leaving already?"
Mr. Arai's voice echoed. The group froze reflexively.
Just as Mr. Arai teasingly raised his bamboo sword, they blurted out, "Sir, the record, the record!"
"Record? Don't make stuff up!"
"No, it's true! Look!"
"Why are you carrying something like that? You guys wouldn't...?"
"N-No! It's my dad's! We're going to Akashi's to see if he can play it for us!"
"Is that so? My bad then! Be careful!"
As they walked towards Susukino, they heard Mr. Arai's voice, "If it doesn't work out, call me! I have a player!"
Arriving at the antique shop in Susukino...
"Hello! Is Akashi here?"
"Hey, what's up? If it's about money, I don't have any!"
"No, no! Look at this!"
They took out the record, and Akashi, overjoyed, said, "Led Zeppelin!"
"Can you play this?"
"Yeah, leave it to me!"
"I'll play it at max volume on the best stereo!"
He dropped the needle on the record...
"Led Zeppelin! I've seen them on YouTube!"
"Our generation didn't have internet back then."
"Nowadays, it's all about the internet, internet! Without it, everyone would die!"
"True!" they laughed loudly.
"Master, another beer!"
"Sure thing! Let's also order some dumplings! Our dumplings are delicious!"
