Ch.2

I sat up gasping for air, that memory never faded. Today was the day Amanda returned from her school, I was the one who helped her all this time.

I had turned to a cult to pay for her schooling. The cult had taught me, raised me and kept both Amanda and I safe. T.A.S.E was the leader.

I got up, tossing on my shoes and cloak before leaving.

When I got to the train station I saw a crowd around the tracks, I shoved past the hot sweaty people in time to see Amanda trip and fall on the tracks, she had no time to move before the train took off.

"AMANDA!"

She got hit, blood splattering on the train and tracks. The loud screeching pierced my ears but I tried fighting my every instinct to jump down and help her.

When I got to the tracks I didn't care that my hands were red and bloody from the rusty ladder . I searched, and searched for her body.

The train conductor had stopped the train 20 feet away. I picked up her body, relieved that she was still breathing. She looked disfigured and…broken.

"Min..nie..?"

I shushed her, surprised to see her wounds healing already.

"Doctor!"

I screamed, my throat horse. I felt the tears stream down my face as The All Seeing Eye approached. He was wearing his cloak and mask, carrying mine.

"Oh child, what has happened?"

"A-amanda s-she…"

My voice trailed, I was still hugging her body but closely now that he was here. There was no telling what could happen.

"Let us go to your house…"

He sounded odd, but teleported us. I swear I heard a faint giggle.

I set Amanda down, on the couch. Looking around I stared at T.A.S.E.

"A ritual will heal her before she dies, Minnie"

I grabbed my mask from him, putting it on.

"Good girl, now I need you to make a demon Summoning circle with your blood. You bleed easy so this is a trivial task"

I did as I was asked. The disobedients must be jealous of me, I'm the summoner.

I picked up Amanda, adrenaline wearing thin and sleep kicking in.

I carefully placed Amanda in the circle as she placed a hand on my masked face.

"Don't…Lea…v..e..m-"

My eyes burned, her hand fell. I didn't notice the ominous glow from the summoning circle or the red of my vision.I cradled Amanda's body, shaking.

"A-amanda s-she…"

“Well..well.”

His voice! That was the voice of a demon. I set Amanda down in time to be brought up to his chest. Thank god he had clothes on. He smelt of smoke and ash.

“I'm here to heal Amanda.”

I glanced at T.A.S.E who had taken off his mask pointed to me!

"She's the sacrifice."

“That's your sacrifice?”

The demon gripped my hand tighter as I began to panic.

‘I- no! No! How could he?'

He had raised me, cared for me and even paid for fees! I started struggling against the demon's hand. My vision went completely red, the demon grabbed my mask.

“hmmm.”

The demon seemed disappointed.

I threw off my cloak, getting ready to at the very least struggle. My mask was off. I just needed to find a weapon.

“I just want your soul.”

I grabbed my knife and lunged at him.

The demon side stepped. When I turned around he swooped in and grabbed my throat.

I stabbed his neck but that didn't divert him from choking me.

I was gasping for breath, feet dangling above the ground.

He suddenly threw me onto the ground, my body ached and I was gasping for air.

“Minnie stop! you aren't a demon!”

I looked up towards him, still gasping for air.

Only demons or angels had chances against a demon.

The demon stepped forward and stared at me, claws out. I raised my arm up but it was too late. My right eye had been cut across and the warm crimson ran down my face.

I felt myself beginning to pass out from the pain. I slipped into a deep unconsciousness
