Adventurer’s Guild

The date is 1292, we’ve finally arrived at the City of Adventurers “Peripetia”…

These buildings are so different from the ones in my village…. Houses here are made of stone and glass, different from the brittle wood we use in the village.

Peripetia was a 14 day journey from my village, so most of us are tired of the long walk… we probably would’ve arrived within a week if we weren’t delayed by the continuous swarm of goblins…

Turns out there was a huge army of monsters that came before we arrived, the timing couldn’t get any worse….

There’s probably a connection between the army of monsters and my village’s destruction… I’m going to find out sooner or later, but now? I should focus on what’s happening in front of me..

Woosh~!

A carriage sped by us, “Hey watch out! You could’ve hit us!” Shouted Elliot, the leader of the group I was with.. we were now in front of the Adventurer’s guild, a huge building with a big stone foundation, very sturdy place, weak monsters wouldn’t stand a chance on chipping this building..

Vooom~

The top of the ceiling seems as high as the sky, we walked inside the Adventurer’s Guild, everyone looked so strong but cheerful, guess the Adventurer’s weren’t what I thought they all were..

“Hey! It’s Elliot!” Shouted by one of the men in the crowd, “You’re finally back!” Another shouted, “What did you find on the expedition this time?” They asked, walking closer as they spoke..

Elliot called forth two of his men carrying a brown box, when they opened it..

Tsiing~

It’s was a blinding light, a golden sword, a bright golden sword was in the box, everyone was shocked after they saw what was in it.. One of them asked

“Is this-“

“Yea it is”

“The sword which the hero, Mitz used to slay the evil god”

Everyone’s faces lit up in joy and the whole building filled up with everyones praises about Elliot and his party.. I asked him

He replied as he puts his hand on my head..

“You shouldn’t underestimate me”

I said while swiping his hand of me..

“I will grow strong, stronger than anyone here”

Fooosh~

The whole place fell silent..

“HAHAHAHA”

Every single one of them laughed at me, my face went bright red in embarrassment..

“Sure boy, we’ll wait ‘till that day comes.. Go wait outside, we’ll finish off our business with the Guild”

I went out the Guild’s doors and silently waited for them..

Gaahh~!

I looked around as to find where the noise originated from, there in the alley, three men and a girl, she had red hair and purple eyes, one of the men was lying on the ground in pain.. I was dumbfounded until one of them swung at her

“You bastar-“

Crash~! Wooosh~

She sent the man flying with a single punch..

“W-what, how?! That’s impossible!”

He started running away from her, and she snickered at him

“Hmph, try me again losers”

She then looks at me and stared me up and down..

“What are you doing? Why are you just standing there? Since you saw everything help me out of here”

“What?” I said weirdly confused as to what’s happening

Some men dressed in plate armor then showed up behind me, they seemed in a hurry, I was about to call out to them until she grabbed my hand and ran..

“Stop right there!” They shouted, I wanted to stop but her grip was too strong for me to get out off, so I asked her, why are you running? Weren’t they disturbing you?

“I hit them first though.. ehe”

I was dumbfounded, (what the hell is she doing) I thought to myself..

“You just thought of something rude just now, huh”

My eyes widened confirming her suspicions, she grabbed my hand tighter and started running faster, we then lost the men chasing us, I was too busy catching my breathe to think properly, she ended the silence right then..

“My name’s Agnes, Agnes Lorraine, what about you?”

“Oh I’m Ra-“

“Agnes!”

I was interrupted by a man dressed in a fancy suit, seems like he was looking for her…

“Oh thank the heavens you’re safe! Your parents are furious.. what the hell were you thinking?”

“Oh Sebas, you think a few thugs can hurt this pretty me~?”

(She seems like a lot of trouble) the man named “Sebas” then started pulling her away, she looked back at me

“That was fun kid! Hopefully we meet again!”

(What kid? You looked like you were the same age as me at most..) I nodded and they left, I stood up and walked around the city until I found Elliot

“Where were you?! We spent hours looking for you, just where in the world did you go?” He seemed genuinely worried for me, it’s probably just my imagination since I’ve been with them just for a few days..

“An adventure!”

Sigh~

“Alright, just don’t do it again, you got me?”

I nodded, I then followed them to another big building

“This, this is where you’ll be staying from now on”

“What?”

“This, is where you’ll be living”

I was still processing what he was saying until he dragged me in, there was a lot of strong looking adults and kids, kids my age, they seem strong and well toned for someone the same age as me, I can’t even compare..

A man almost twice the size of Elliot greeted me

“Hey kid~ heard you were staying with us now, hopefully you enjoy our company~”

He said while grinning, every else came up to look at the new guy, they were probably just curious? I can’t tell..

“Follow me”

The tall man said, we walked up to a large hallway full of doors, and he opened the one farthest from the entrance, he looked down on me and said

“This is your room, you better get up early tomorrow, if you’re late, you might get punished~”

“Alright, uhh sir”

“Call me William, I’m the head trainer and main tank of Elliot’s little army~”

“What’s your name?”

“Oh, I’m Ragriel, Ragriel Bismarck”

“Fancy name kid, unpack your stuff and get a good nights rest, we’ll be up very early”

I unpacked my items I managed to scavenge off of the ruins of what used to be my house, a picture of my family, my mothers necklace, my fathers sword, and a few other items, I only had a few stuff so it didn’t take me that long..

“I’m the last one huh?” I muttered, it seems like I was the one in the last room, there probably won’t be anyone else younger than me in this place.. this is my starting point, I’m going to take everything back..
