“So you know, when we did the pest control back then, I activated my orb and broadcasted the whole thing. It turns out that the Watchers really enjoyed it and gave me a large amount of resources. This is a good thing. And I’ve noted it as our city’s income.”
“I see. But, I assure you that the time you spent returning here will be worthwhile.”
Kai appeared again in the lodge for a second time as he nodded slightly to Angga’s bold claim. When the pest control was done, he returned to the Town Hall and did not witness how Angga took many scenes for his advertisement. Now that he was here again, he would expect a result or two.
Angga beckoned the merman of the Town Hall to activate his mini-receiver. Since they were at the lodge’s hall, all other staff members also did the same to spectate their hard work these past three days. When the water screen appeared, the cameraman handled the process with his mirrorless camera so the finished product would be displayed on the screen.
“Let’s see,” said Kai shortly, seemingly eager about what he would witness.
It showed a short video about a magnificent display of Repose Lodging. The guests were graciously welcomed in the lobby by the professional mermaid staff. When they entered the lobby to handle the paperwork needed, the guests also enjoyed the underwater-vibe furniture inside the building and the magic view from the windows, which showed them a lot of sea creatures as if they were deep in the ocean.
Now, the Sharp Teeth guests were enjoying their leisure time in the comfy room as one of them lay in the bed, having the time of his life. While the room service was coming to bring drinks and snacks, the guests happily accepted it with a wide smile. It gave a strong impression, somehow.
The ads show how the lodging got a nice place to eat, seemingly a restaurant. Now, the Cuce people were having their classy meal at first. The video showed how lavish dishes and other dishes were presented, creating a delicious harmony for the viewer. The Cuce people couldn’t restrain themselves anymore and requested much more food. The chef himself was on fire and provided all the Cuce people could order.
And then, the scene changed into a few lodge facilities’ exposure. Angga made sure that every part of the plus point of this place that aimed to the potential guests was shown, such as the lodge’s hall, half of the rooms which had a balcony with a nice view, a comfortable place to eat and drink that almost resembling a tavern but inside the lodging, and electrical massage stones.
On the stones part, Angga purposely shows it longer than other lodge facilities since it was a main attraction of this place. The video showed that most of the staff here are greatly taking care of it all the time, and Clara truly enjoyed the electrical sensation coming from the stones since she showed all kinds of relaxed expressions while lying down. Angga guessed that it was her true facial expression. She was not pretending at all.
The video was closed with robust, concise, and clear text that charmed the audience to try the Repose Lodging. It’ll be an excellent experience for them.
About the text that originates from this world that was used in the video, apparently, Angga already understood them somehow. It may be one of his powers aside from fully controlling his camera remotely for now.
“Woah…”
All of the staff jaws almost dropped or drowned in their own water bubbles because of that kind of content, Kai himself included, as he showed a rather never-been-seen expression. For sure, the merman of Town Hall treated the video as a piece of good news.
“What is this… I had never seen something like this. Angga, are you really the one who made this?” Clara gasped and asked the human guy with too much excess energy.
“Heh, you asked a pretty weird question, Clara. This is the fruit of my labor within my personal space inside the speck of light. I just followed some examples from my world and modified it a little. I also did some video advertisements before, so it’s nothing special.”
“But this is… it’s so awesome. I’ve looked at many videos recorded before or streamed straight to the Watcher, but something like this…”
Perhaps Clara was at a loss for words to describe the feeling swelling up on her chest. She then went away to watch the ads two or three times more without any disturbance.
While the other staff were rejoicing because of the advertisement, Kai came closer to Angga with a huge smile. It’s unusual for someone who always puts his unmotivated face whenever he goes. And then, he gave a thumbs up to the point that the water bubble's upper part was also shaped like a thumb up.
“It’s pretty amazing, I daresay. Something that should get recognized by every person in this Union Kingdom.”
Angga laughed awkwardly since their reaction was too much for him. “Thanks, I guess. Hehe. Then, what I need you to do is somehow broadcast this ad to the whole kingdom’s Receiver. You can also put it for the Watcher to see so they’ll give us Support for the city’s income.”
The merman nodded. “Yes, yes, indeed. I’ll contact other people who are in charge of each Town Hall to broadcast this in their area. Please send the video to the Canau’s Town Hall receiver, and I’ll handle the rest.”
“Okay. Let’s see how well people of the Union Kingdom will receive this video.”
The moment Angga finished transferring his video to the Town Hall’s Receiver, everything was set in motion.
The said ad was broadcast throughout the whole Kingdom, with some of the other content displayed in between. But, since everyone wanted to see it again and again, it got repeated often to the point that Angga was concerned.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
Is it really okay to play it three times, minimum, every day for one week? He thought. Be it the advertisement in his world, one will pay a lot of costs to broadcast it on a national television channel.
Still, when Kai said that it was alright to do that since it was not breaking any rules, Angga would let the merman do as he pleased.
And then, two weeks have passed since the whole kingdom broadcast and to the Watchers as well.
“A specifically good news, everyone. You ought to know this,” said the merman of the Town Hall with his usual unmotivated expression.
Clara, Aleid, and Angga were hanging out at the Resource Guild’s building while Angga was checking the engagement data of his video. But Kai barged in when Angga was in the middle of reviewing all the data needed.
The lion girl greeted the guest with her bright grin. “The Head of Town Hall came to our place himself? Then, it must be a big news! Come on, tell us, what is it?”
Kai smiled slightly. “Maybe you guys already guessed this, but the occupancy rate of Repose Lodging increased significantly. Thanks to your repeated ad broadcast, now everyone knows that Canau has a magnificent lodge that welcomes guests. The staff there are busy providing professional services to the guests as we speak.”
“Woah, really?” Angga has been expecting this. But, to hear it by himself lifted his mood. “I’m glad that my video can attract customers.”
“Not only that. But the Watchers also gave us so much Support. I think it’s worth around 4.000 golds,” said Kai nonchalantly while giving a tight-tied pouch to Angga.
“4.000 golds?!”
“Yep, and by our law to distribute the resources, so Angga’s portion is around 3.000 golds. An amazing feat, I daresay.”
Clara and Aleid almost jumped from their seat, even though the sheep guy tried not to lose his cool by holding his eyeglasses so it wouldn’t fall. Yet, the amount generated from the advertisement production process is something they haven’t expected. Angga checked its content and found a lot of gold nuggets inside. He had never seen a lot of gold like that and wondered if this gold was the same as the ones in his world.
When Angga checked his engagement statistics, his video indeed generated around 4000 golds from the Supports. The view itself had around 1 million views and was still counting, including views throughout the Union Kingdom.
“I don’t know that finally, someone can almost beat that person’s amount of Support without making a dangerous type of content,” said Aleid, somehow enthusiastic with Angga’s achievement.
“I’m sorry, that person what?”
“It’s Tafnekha, my best friend. She is famous around here and the sole highest gainer from this city’s Resources Guild. She’s not around for now since she was pretty busy making dungeon raid content,” Clara replied.
“Dungeon raid? I think I’m not familiar with that term.” Angga has no clue about that.
“Putting that aside, I hereby thank you for your deeds, Angga. Perhaps this is the power of someone coming from another world, but it’s still something that I can’t imagine it can happen.”
Inside the water bubble, Kai bowed in respect before the human guy. Angga quickly responded it with courtesy since that’s the common sense of his world.
“Likewise. Glad that I can help.”
“Hence, I will fulfill my promise. Let’s go back to Town Hall right away, and we will find out the answer to what concerns you most.”
A way back to Angga’s original world.
Shortly after, they arrived again at the entrance of the Town Hall and waited for the boat to come closer to board. In the meantime, Kai activated his spell by creating another water bubble that dispersed quickly with the shape of a fish. Basically, each fish will act as a search engine to find the desired information.
“So we have to wait for a bit. Don’t worry, Angga. We’ll get our answer soon.”
Hearing that, Angga got pumped. “Thanks. To think that I can finally access the information needed to go home… we’re progressing now.”
When Kai and Angga were talking to themselves, it occurred to Clara that when Angga went home, it was likely the last time she would meet him. That means no more potential content comes from him, either.
“S-So, you’re really going home, Angga?” asked the lion girl hesitantly.
“Yeah... I think I need to go back since I abruptly came here. I’m sure my family are looking after me.” Angga replied.
Perhaps it was short, but Clara felt that it was too bad for Angga to go home quickly. It hasn’t been a month, and he has to say goodbye.
“This situation is unpardonable. Look at her. Clara, the dearest girl, is showing signs of distress. Now, if you excuse me, could you stay away from her for around two meters?”
A girl with short black hair trimmed neatly appeared out of nowhere between Angga and Clara. She spread her wings to push the human guy away from the lion girl. At a glance, she has the appearance of a human from ancient Egypt in her late twenties with big unnatural wings on her waist. She opened her eyes as it emitted a strong blue light that caused everything to shake.
“T-Tafnekha, stop it! You don’t have to open your eyes! We get it!”
“If all of the concern were apprehended…”
The shaking was no more the moment Tafnekha closed her eyes. Pushed by her wings, Angga was already positioned at a safe distance from both Tafnekha and Clara. The lion girl was grinning awkwardly while Tafnekha retracted her wings and disappeared magically.
“Ah, okay. Angga, this is Tafnekha, my best friend and a member of the Resources Guild. She is a Pijesak people who is really an expert at using magic.” Clara introduced the girl beside her.
“I-I see. I’m Angga. Nice to meet you.” Angga awkwardly bowed.
“That’s what she has spoken, I’m Tafnekha. I understand your feat for making a wonderful video known to every individual in this kingdom. I commend you, but it doesn’t mean you can stay close to Clara as you wish.”
“Tafnkeha is that kind of person, you see. I'm also trying to maintain my distance from them when she’s around,” Kai whispered from Angga’s back.
Looking at how Kai seemed cautious toward the girl, both of the guys came to a mutual understanding and decided not to provoke Tafnekha any further.
“So, why are you here, Tafnekha? I thought you were still busy creating your content?” asked the lion girl.
The girl with eyes closed, looked at Clara. “A problem has arisen, and I have to find the relevant disclosure about it. Worry not, it’s nothing major.”
“I suppose you don’t need any help from me or our staff?” asked the head of the Town Hall.
“A trifling matter. I suggest you don’t compare me with others.” said the Pijesak girl.
“Right, I don’t have to ask. You may explore this place as you need, Tafnekha.”
“I clearly would do that. Although, another matter takes place first…”
Tafnekha pulled Clara's hands and put a sword-shaped amulet onto it.
“This is a magnificent loot I had obtained from the latest raid. The monster was quite strong, yet still no match to my team. I want you to hold onto it, Clara.”
Clara’s eyebrows raised, “Huh? But why? It’s supposed to be yours since you obtained it yourself.”
“Precisely because it’s mine, I gave it to you. We also obtained so many other loots, so sharing a little with you won’t be a significant deal. Please hold it dearly, Clara. It’ll boost your physical abilities and protect you from bad luck, I insist.”
She made Clara clench on that amulet and step back with a smile.
“Hence, I excused myself. Wish to see you again sometime later, Clara. And you, pack of males, remember what you have to maintain when you’re around this adorable girl.”
Tafnekha spread her wings, which had not been present before, and flew away somewhere deep inside the Town Hall, just like a passing wind.
“There she goes, to the library of this place. I think that kind of goodbye is quite a lot,” Kai commented.
Angga had nothing to say and decided to observe the strong magician fly away. He knew very well that he wouldn’t unnecessarily get in the way of someone who was pretty strong.
“She’s kinda amazing on her own, you see,” said the lion girl with an awkward grin.
Angga nodded. “Yeah, I can tell.”
