Chapter 7 - All Freeloaders

Chapter 7 - All Freeloaders

In one corner of the system, there was a shop and a leaderboard.

The shop was filled with various items, including incense, bronze mirrors, and talisman paper used for warding off ghosts, as well as mysterious potions to enhance one's abilities. However, the best items were in the advanced shop, which required special conditions to unlock!

Shop points couldn't be earned in beginner dungeons; they had to be obtained in subsequent dungeons, with higher scores at the end of a dungeon yielding more points.

After closing the shop, Zhao Yi opened the leaderboard beside it.

There were five leaderboards in total.

They were: Newcomer Leaderboard, Guild Leaderboard, Leveling Maniac Leaderboard, Wealthiest Leaderboard, and World Renowned Leaderboard.

Currently, Zhao Yi had secured the top spot on the Newcomer Leaderboard with an S+ rating.

As the top newcomer, Zhao Yi naturally received the corresponding title: Rising Star.

The Newcomer Leaderboard recorded the comprehensive scores of newcomers within level 5. Besides the points on hand, the most important factor was the score given by the system at the end of a dungeon.

Zhao Yi glanced at the Leveling Maniac Leaderboard.

Currently, the highest level player in the Bone Zone was level 63.

It was Xue Daozhi, the leader of the Call to Arms guild.

After getting a general understanding of the situation, Zhao Yi looked into the guilds.

It turned out that after entering the game, players could no longer return to their original world but were instead placed in the outskirts of a new chaotic world!

It was dangerous, barren, and desolate.

There was no sunlight.

Players needed to deal with various dangers, build homes, expand territories, store resources, and move towards the center of the world!

Zhao Yi carefully reviewed the current world map that had been explored and found that the location of the 'All Freeloaders' guild was closest to a familiar area!

Hanging Valley Town!

Zhao Yi's eyes lit up slightly.

He was very interested in everything happening in Hanging Valley Town.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

He clicked on the 'All Freeloaders' guild and submitted a request to join.

Now, it was just a matter of waiting.

It wasn't long before he received a message.

[We are a trash guild with no resources.]

Clearly, the other party was surprised by Zhao Yi's choice to join their guild.

Zhao Yi wasn't angry at their rejection.

He replied: [I'm very interested in Hanging Valley Town.]

Just a few simple words.

In the chaotic world.

In a remote corner, inside a dilapidated apartment building, a mature woman with a seductive demeanor looked at the message in front of her, slightly surprised.

She turned her head to the teammates sitting on the messy sofa and said: "Interesting, the top newcomer this year actually applied to join our guild."

A middle-aged Taoist with a rosy complexion was busy sorting through the treasures he had 'dug up' in the last dungeon, smiling as he said: "Infinite Heavenly Sovereign! Didn't this guy receive invitations from a few top guilds? Or are this year's newcomers so bad that even the top ones can't impress those old ghosts?"

The mature woman lazily flicked her long hair and said:"A newcomer who scored S+ in a hell-level dungeon like 'Colossus Hospital,' what do you think?"

The Taoist's smile faded slightly."Then why would he choose our guild?"

The woman replied:"He said... he's very interested in Hanging Valley Town. Uncle Quan, any thoughts?"

The woman's gaze fell on the middle-aged man with black-framed glasses reading a book in the center of the sofa. He looked up slightly, adjusted his glasses, and smiled:"Hanging Valley Town seems to be related to our world mission, right? You guys never do the world missions, always fighting and causing trouble. After all this time, the guild is still in this state, and newcomers are almost all gone."

The woman sneered.

"Isn't that what we learned from you? The upper beam is not straight, the lower beam will be crooked. Don't blame us; you set the example."

Uncle Quan awkwardly touched his nose.

"Let him in. It's rare for a newcomer to want to join our guild. You guys better not bully the newcomer."

The woman licked her red lips, a glint flashing in her eyes, and smiled:"Alright."

The news of Zhao Yi joining the 'All Freeloaders' guild quickly spread throughout the Eternal Night Camp.

Many people didn't understand Zhao Yi's choice.

"Tsk tsk, such a good hand, played to pieces."

"Why go to such a trash guild? It's been established for two years and hasn't even opened a path to the abandoned city!"

"What a pity for this guy. I heard the big shots from several major guilds had high praise for him, but he chose to mess it up himself!"

In the abandoned city of the chaotic world, inside a bustling skyscraper.

Yang Tao sat in front of a computer, curiously examining Zhao Yi's profile.

He was very interested in this person.

Outside the door, a woman in a black silk professional outfit knocked and entered, handing a stack of documents to Yang Tao.

"Vice President, someone dug up his information from the original world. The information has been uploaded to the Eternal Night Camp. Here's the original manuscript for your review."

Yang Tao picked up the document and carefully read through it.

His expression turned serious.

"Is he well-known in the industry?"

The woman nodded.

"He has cured nearly a thousand patients with severe psychological disorders, and completely cured them! Whether it's depression or violent tendencies, severe psychological distortions...

Anyone treated by him always recovers.

However, all the patients he treated forget the treatment process. They only remember that Zhao Yi cured their illness, but all memories related to the treatment mysteriously disappear.

So in the industry, no one calls him by his real name; instead, they gave him a special nickname—Forgotten Angel."

Yang Tao was silent for a long time, suddenly remembering something.

"Go, call Bal!"

The woman hesitated:"Vice President, Bal killed all the other players in the last dungeon. Now, due to his high kill count, he's been locked in the Slaughter Arena by the system and won't be out for three days."

Yang Tao glanced at the calendar.

"I have time, I can wait."

***

Gale, torrential rain.

No sun, the surroundings were in ruins, as if they had gone through a world war, leaving only debris.

That lone old building stood before Zhao Yi.

There were lights inside.

"Welcome, Zhao Yi."

A voluptuous mature beauty stood at the door, wearing cool sunglasses, greeting Zhao Yi.

Zhao Yi curiously asked:"Is this the territory of the 'All Freeloaders' guild?"

The woman smiled sweetly:"Why? Do we not look like freeloaders?

Oh, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Liu Ruoqing, the guild's reviewer.

You can call me Sister Liu."

She graciously led Zhao Yi back into the old building, where many people in the first-floor lobby looked at him with strange smiles. Liu Ruoqing introduced Zhao Yi:"The man with black-framed glasses is our guild leader, you can call him Uncle Quan. That ice-cold beauty is Meng Jiao, also our vice president. Try not to talk to her; she won't respond to you.

As for that damned charlatan Taoist, his name is Jiang Xiao. He loves to trick people, so be careful not to fall for his scams!"

Jiang Xiao protested:"Liu Ruoqing, if you can't speak properly, don't speak at all! I, the Taoist, am knowledgeable in astronomy and geography, and I never overcharge for fortune-telling. How am I a charlatan?"
