The age of pirates was a long but short period, it lasted for maybe 30-80 years. Amongst these years birthed some of the most feared men in the world. Such as William "Iceberg" Jack, the pirate king, there isn't anyone alive who hasn't heard of him. He had the strength to take down 30 men all by himself and the power to use and become ice itself. William was known for being a kind man and believed that anyone who killed someone weaker than themselves is human scum.

William was tall, dark-skinned, and very inspiring. No one knew why William became a pirate, he was so different from the other pirates. Protected the weak from corrupt marines and other dangerous pirates. The one life he saved that stuck with him was of a boy named Alec.

Alec was a slave who worked for a pirate known as Derry "Sand Dune" Dairy. Derry had the ability of sand which gave him the epithet "Sand Dune". William would later discover what Derry was doing and put a stop to it. He gathered his crew and took a stand against Derry, the battle would be later known as "The battle between Sand and Ice". The battle lasted for about 15-30 minutes with few deaths from both sides and ultimately Derry was defeated and all of the slaves including Alec were set free.

William noticed that every slave left but a small brown-headed boney boy. 

William sat down next to the boy, "Why don't you leave? Kid." William asked.

"I have no one else to go to," Alec answered quietly.

William knew what the boy meant and made a decision, "Hey kid, why don't you come with me? You can trust me if you want but I know some people who would be willing to help you out." William said.

Alec looked up at the man, "D-do you have f-food?" Alec asked.

William smiled, "If I didn't have food then none of my crewmates would live." William chuckled and even Alec smiled.

"I-I would like to go with…with you." Alec stuttered.

So their miniature adventure began, Alec learned the basics of a pirate and was taught some basic sword fighting techniques. William told Alec stories about the sea and its many wonders, which filled Alec with curiosity and amusement. One stormy night led the crew running around trying to man the sails back to its main course. During the storm, Alec found a weird-looking room filled with all kinds of treasure, the ship’s rumbling made Alec and some of the treasure fall. Alec woke up in the weird treasure room and found himself holding a weird-looking bottle.

Out of curiosity, Alec wanted to smell what's in the bottle, it smelled toxic not like the alcohol the pirates would drink.

"That drink is called the sea's tear," William said which startled Alec.

"Sea's tear?" Alec asked.

"Indeed, the Sea's tear can give the person who drinks it inhuman abilities such as mines and Derry's but it can sometimes take days, weeks, even years to find out what it is," William responded.

It's been about 2 and a half months since Alec has been on William’s ship and he has yet seen William as serious as he is talking about the 'Sea's tear'.

"None of my crew wanted to drink it as there is a higher chance of dying than gaining any ability, so I advise you not to drink it but that's entirely your choice," William said with a more serious and scary tone.

Alec thought about all the hardships he's been through and wondered if he died so what but if he gained an ability he could finally protect himself. Alec's hands were shaking as he slowly poured the 'Sea's Tear' in his mouth. Alec felt strange and ran towards William with tears in his eyes.

"What's wrong? kid." William asked

"I drank the Sea's Tear!" Alec whined.

The entire ship got quiet hearing what Alec said.

"Did he just say that he drank the 'Sea's Tear?!' asked the navigator of the crew, Billiard.

"Well, at least you're not dead, kid." William chuckled.

"I was so scared!" Alec whined as he hugged William.

"Now we just have to wait and see what type of ability you'll get." William Kept chuckling.

After a couple of days of the crew making fun of how dumb of a decision Alec made they finally arrived at their destination. Upon arrival William noticed a familiar face her name was Pearl Augustine, William waved hello to her and she did the same. William and pearl gave each other a big hug.

"Hey, could you do me a favor?" William asked.

"Yeah, what?" Pearl responded.

"You see that kid over there?" William pointed. "His name is Alec and he has no place to stay so I was wondering if you could take him in?" William kindly asked.

"I guess I could make some space for him," she said with an angelic smile.

Pearl walked over towards Alec, "Hey there cutie, you're going to stay with me for now, is that alright with you?" she kindly asked with that same angelic smile.

"Y-yes," Alec said with a tint of blush on his cheeks.

"Kid's got his first crush." Billiard teased.

William kneels to Alec before he leaves, "Been nice sailing with you kid" William says with a bit of a sad tone in his voice.

Alec looks at William who's trying to fight back his tears and hugs William back "Thank you, for saving me." Alec says, which makes William fully break into tears.

"William lost it again." Jakey, the musician of the iceberg pirates, joked.

Billiard walks towards William, "The ship ready to leave captain" Billiard says.

Before leaving William makes an unmeltable icicle for Alec.

"Come on Alec, let's go to your new home.." Pearl says with a smile.

Alec looked upon the horizon realizing making a personal promise to himself. He would one day become an awesome and kind pirate-like, William.
