Darkness.
That was its first thought as it grew inside of its egg. If you were to feel the egg, it was not hard nor brittle, this egg would have felt leathery to the human touch. Within the egg it felt weightless, as if it was floating in some liquid and for a long while it contemplated the feeling with a sense of detachment .
For a long while it knew nothing but darkness and weightlessness, until an unpleasant sensation came into being, it came from within itself, and miraculously it knew what sensation it was. It was primal sensation, an instinct known to all beings that possessed flesh.
Hunger.
Hunger was a new sensation, and for a while it simply basked in the feeling of hunger, until it grew too much for the unborn creature to handle, yet it from deep within itself, it knew how to assauge this. It needed to sate the hunger, anything would do, for it was sooo soooo hungry.
It began to drink the substance around it, the one it was submerged in. The very liquid in which it floated, inside of its egg. The creature drank, drank, and drank until it was so full it could not drink anymore, and yet the liquid had not decreased by a noticeable amount. It was then that it felt a new feeling, an warm emotion of fulfilled sensations came from within it.
Satisfaction.
The creature was satisfied. The Hunger was sated. Such a cycle repeated itself again and again over the course of an unknowable amount of time. For the creature did not understand the concept of time, nor did it know how it might measure time even if it knew about it. But one day it all changed.
One day the creature had grown too large for the egg it was in. The shell of the egg pressed around it while it's body continued to grow despite the lack of space within the egg. An entirely new emotion came to it at that momment.
Discomfort.
The creature felt discomfort at this development, but it did not know what to do. It had never solved a problem on its own before. Even the urge to drink the substance around it was more of an instinctive response it felt from within it rather than any real thought on the creatures part, for the creature's cerebrum was not developed enough to really think about anything.
Yet now, for the first time since its birth, the creature's instincts did not have the solution to the problem it was facing. The creature, for the first time, attempted to move, in a vague attempt to somehow ease the discomfort upon its body. It was then that a sharp resounding noise was heard.
CRACK!!!
The creature stilled. The noise was new, and it was loud to the creature. For a long while the creature remained frozen in place, as if afraid to move. Over time however, the creature's discomfort with its situation overpowered its fear of the unknown.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
It once more, but far more slowly this time, attempted to ease its discomfort, and for a time it worked. However, as the creature grew ever larger within the egg, without any signs of stopping and the discomfort returned and now there was no escape from it. Soon the discomfort grew into something else. An entirely new, and very unwanted feeling.
Dicomfort. Hurt. Pain....
The creature had never felt such a feeling before. It felt as though its body was being crushed withing the walls of its egg and entire on instinct, it began to shake and twist, stretching against the leathery walls of eggshell.

It struggled against the walls that caused it such pain, the walls that imprisoned it within this place, ever more each day, with growing strength from muscles long atrophied as the creature remained within it's egg.

Finally, it knew release.
It had freed itself from its prison.
And prompty fell asleep, exhuasted from the effort of freeing itself.
