Chapter 28: Ramiel

Chapter 28: Ramiel

“Dammit, why can’t I find that bitch.” I roared at no one in particular. I’d spent the last couple of hours trying to find Rose. Nothing. I’ve always been able to find people. I’ve always been able to find mortals with ease. They’re predictable.

Rose was anything but predictable. I couldn’t stand that woman. Recently, within the last hour, I had a revelation about her.

She says she’s neither man nor woman. Bullshit. She has a vagina, so obviously she’s a woman. God made man and woman, not man, woman, and some strange amalgam of both.

Rose, that's not her name. It’s Madeline, or Maddie.

She’s a rebel like that damn Lucifer.

“Uh, sir.” I heard someone mumble, choosing to ignore whoever it was. “Sir.” They said more confidently. “Sir!” They exclaimed, barely escaping the hand that I threw out to get the servant out.

While I was moving, I saw Micheal. God's personal guard. “He wants to see you.” The archangel said to me.

I stood up, my robe rumpling around me, and looked at him. “I can escort myself.”

I walked out of the room, slamming the door behind me. I followed the path that went through the courtyard. I opened the door to God's chambers, to see him sitting on his throne, a girl with deep bronze hair and a goth outfit beside him.

“Well, it’s you Madeline, never thought I’d see you here.” I said with a chuckle. Before I could blink, there was a knife at my throat, and lips against my ear. “That little girl died many years ago. We don’t speak of her anymore”

I felt the warmth of golden Ichor dripping down my throat. I was surprised God didn’t do something about her, but, who was I to question him. I threw my hands up. Sadly, I wasn’t ready to die yet.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

I never thought a human would actually be able to kill an angel. We aren’t exactly immortal like God is. We can’t die of natural causes, but we can be killed. However, our physical abilities are many times greater than a humans. I guess Maddie was as good as she said she was.

“What do you want, Maddie.” I asked. Pissing her off might not be in my best interest, but it was fun. Madeline grabbed my right hand, lifted it softly, and broke it. I gasped, wincing from the pain. Sadly, I’m not much of a fighter so I don’t get hurt often. I’m not used to pain, so I had to give her the satisfaction.

“One bone for every time you say that name. You may heal quickly, but that doesn’t mean you don’t feel pain.” Maddie said, knife still at my throat. Ichor was still streaming down my neck, although it was slowing down. “But to answer your question, I’ve come here to tell you something.”

“Oh, and what might that be?”

“You touch my friends, and there’ll be a whole new ring of hell made just for you. I might not be an omnipotent being like your God, but that doesnt mean I can't control him. Even gods need companionship.” I could feel the smirk on Maddie’s face and scowled.

“There’s only one God.” I said. “What do you think you’ll do, marry him yourself or something?”

Maddie laughed. “Sure, if that’s what you want to believe. God’s come into existence when enough people worship them as such. I mean, so anyone can become a god. I’ve gotten close, but I killed those bastards real quick. I don’t wanna be a god, and especially not because of some dumbass cultists. If people stop believing in them, they slowly fizzle out. But I mean like, really god damn slow. So, the Greek gods still exist. Although, I’m not sure if they’re still worshiped. Same with the Roman gods. It doesn’t matter what you think or believe or whatever. It matters what the people think.”

“Well, then why do I not know of this. I haven’t even heard that before.” I said. “Frankly, it’s bullshit.”

“Because you’re God is young. In his infinite wisdom, he is actually quite dense.”

“What’s your point?”

“My point, Ramiel, is that you thought you could win. In truth, you have no chance, not right now. You’re fucked. So, you might want to get your shit together, because me and you have a war to fight.” Madeline said, and she was gone.

The ichor on my throat was proof that she was right.
