Prologue

“Cultivators” the people whom can harness inner energy called Qi. In the world of today it’s not commonly found on earth but on other planes of existence it is still flourishing.

“I‘m sick of it” Yoh White said before standing on the edge of the roof

Let’s go back 2 days: the day Yoh’s hell began. Yoh just got back from school it was a very nice Monday although he hated them because they were the start of every school week. After he got home he said hi to his mom Jolene White. (1)

She asked Yoh “what do you feel like eating?” Yoh replied “can I get some pizza please? It’s been quite a while.” “Of course sweetie it’ll be done in 20 minutes”

10 minutes later “BANG”

Yoh heard a very loud bang coming from the kitchen… He ran as fast as he could and saw his mother laying on the ground. Her head bleeding because she fainted and fell against the countertop.

He called 911 and went to the hospital together with her in the ambulance, 2 days later she died due to too much blood loss.

Back to the present. As Yoh jumped from the hospital building he slammed into the ground.

Everything was blurry around him, he couldn’t see anything, he said to himself “Is this heaven?” as he saw a purple haired woman keep Yoh firmly in her warm hands he thought to himself “Mom?” but then his vision became clearer he saw a few other persons standing around him: a bald person a red-haired girl and an older looking man “what’s with the hair colours?” Yoh thought to himself.

The purple haired woman said “Bai shall be his name! Bai Guang.” (2)

“H-H-have I been reborn like those fantasy novels I've read way too much? Wait... have I also retained my memories?”

“Oh no… Mom...” The baby in the woman’s hands started crying.

“There, there Xiao Bai don’t cry mommy is right here.” Yoh suddenly felt a little better although he didn’t know this woman there was also a sense of familiarity.

As I grew up I started to get the hang of this world as I found this world and my old world seemed to be quite different at first but also alike in various ways.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

When I was 9 months old I could walk and when I was 1 and a half year I had completely mastered the native language (it didn’t differ that much from English so it wasn’t really hard but it still had some Chinese mixed in which was a little bit harder).

Luckily I've retained my memories of my previous life so life skills weren’t hard to learn but I struggled really badly with trying to get my muscles working again. Since I already understood quite a bit of social studies and economics so it wasn’t that hard trying to fit in on that perspective.

When I was about 4 years old I heard my parents talk to the clan elders “We don’t know if he has talent to cultivate… he is such a genius in terms of studies it’s very likely possible that he is trash on the perspective of cultivation. You can only use it once in your lifetime who knows what would happen if he’s actually trash?” Both my mother and father released an aura more frightening than death the ground under them started crackling and breaking. The moment the elders saw this they almost swallowed their words “Now Now don’t get aggressive with us now.” They said in a scared but resolute voice. My parents are very strong and have a high standing. Only the clan elders can command them but even the elders are a little scared of them because of their frightening power and talent.

I immediately ran away as soon as possible. I didn’t want to get caught. But I’m sure mother noticed me. She is one of the clan’s best cultivators. She’s someone who came into the family after marrying my father although I don’t know what she saw in him. He’s protective of me but doesn’t really care about mother.

1*  He took her last name because his father was never there for her and left them when Yoh was young.

2* Bai meaning white, Guang being light, the name of the clan is the Guang Clan because his eyes and hair are completely white.
