The Weavers of Fate
The Princess of Regno

The Princess of Regno

Max was caught off guard when kidnapped and didn't think to fight back until they landed on the ground.

The kidnapper took him behind a food stall, and covered his mouth, trying to get him to stop screaming. The chaos of people running away nearby gave him the perfect cover and no one noticed them.

"Just stay still," the kidnapper whispered. "I don't want to hurt you."

"You better go away or else I'll hurt you!"

He bit into the kidnapper's hand, and he screamed in pain. Max pushed him off and then crawled away from the food stall. When he looked up he saw a concerned woman who didn't know what to do.

"You need to run away," Max shouted. "There's a dangerous man here!"

The kidnapper kicked Max in the stomach, and then he smiled at the woman. Max looked up from the ground in confusion while the woman held out her hands, palms splayed out. Her eyes shone an electric blue, and her palms opened up tiny little nodes. A zap of electricity shot out of her hands and Max screamed out in terror.

"Just stay still and maybe it will hurt less," she chided.

Max writhed on the ground in agony, and a bright light shone from his chest. The kidnappers watched in awe as he stood up, stuck his hand in his chest, and took out a sword. It was long and glinted from the sunset in the distance. A giant blue gem sparkled in the center of the handle, and the entire sword sparked with electricity.

"I really don't want to hurt you," Max said.

"Then don't," the man said.

He stuck out his palm, and a gust of wind threw Max into the ball pit across from the food stall. He shuffled to the top of the deep pit, and when he got to the corner, the woman stood above him, leering down.

Her robotic eyes sparkled every time she struck him with electricity, but this time he refused to fall down. He used the sword to prop him up, and he took a giant swing in her direction. She dodged in time, but he still nicked the side of her abdomen. Blue coolant leaked out and all over her jeans and boots.

"You shouldn't hit a lady," she said. "Not very polite of you."

The other kidnapper took Max by surprise by jumping on top of his back from behind. Max panicked, and a large gust of wind flung the colorful balls from the pit in every direction. The man let go of Max and he took it as his chance to escape. He realized he was strong, but against seasoned fighters, he had no idea how to use his powers and panicked easily. Max flew off into the air, but when he looked down, he saw the woman running at an inhuman speed, pushing people out of the way.

"You're not getting away," she shouted.

A small seam slowly opened up on her right hand, and then it unlatched from her wrist, hanging from it. A loud sound of a fan came out of her ears, and the smell of gasoline came out of her arm. Balls of fire shot into the sky, and Max started shrieking again dodging them all. He flew even faster and landed at a field where the concerts were being held.

He landed behind the stage and started running towards it to hide. He jumped over a chain link fence, ran up the first set of stairs he saw, and found himself in front of a crowd of hundreds of people. A teenager, dressed in a blue and white regalia, wearing a crown clutched her scepter close to her chest.

Max had wandered to an event where the Princess of Regno would be meeting the Duke of Fadeno and many of the fans of the princess had come to the event.

"Sorry," Max shouted. "I didn't mean to interrupt!"

The Duke of Fadeno, Flama the Flamboyant did not recognize Max and instead of forgiving him, he became enraged. He was wearing what looked more like an outfit that an ice skater would wear. His leotard was black and red and had real diamonds sewn into it. He looked like a mad king, yelling and shouting underneath the stage lights.

"Kill him," Flama screamed. "He's trying to get the princess! He has a sword!"

"This is fake," Max lied.

It did not matter if it was fake or not, because a giant ball of fire hit the stage, and Max now had no choice but to fight.
