Prologue - For it is in passing that we achieve immortality

As I stood on the precipice between life and death, I started to understand the simple truth - that nothing really matters. What could ever matter, when everything is going to fade away anyway? Even if you build a temple from the sturdiest material available, time continues to chip away at its surface, until it's gone and nothing remains.

At least, that is what I thought the glowing overpowered orb of colours wanted me to feel. You can never be too sure with glowing overpowered orbs. As far as my life and/or memory went, this was the first time I've seen this kind of being. Hey, it seemed quite jolly as if the things it showed me were great wonders of the world, which should give me an insight of Universe and stuff. At least, that was what it said to me when I got here. Yes, even the "Universe and stuff" part. That's why I think that this must be part of some elaborate godlike orb joke, though, truth be told, I was getting really bored here.

You know how they usually say your whole life will flash before your eyes just before you die? Well in my case, it was the lifetime of a planet, and it was already going on for quite some time, though it's hard to judge time when you can’t move, breathe or do anything other than think and watch. Hey, at least it's going in faster speed than normal, or I would be stuck here for God knows how long, and seeing, as the orb next to me might be the God I'm speaking of, I sure hope he hasn’t forgotten about me. It would really suck to be stuck here, unable to do anything other than watching, while he’s taking a nap. Torture I tell you! Torture!

Just as I was about to lose it and join the grand clan of being totally nuts.

"Now you understand, go watch and experience the world” - words suddenly echoed inside my head.

(Understand what?!) - I tried to shout back, but no matter how hard I tried, no sound went out. Next moment my vision went white, I woke up and, Oooh boy, I started to feel that being dead and not in pain, was a much better choice.
