Logbook #028 - The Cycle

"Take a deep breath, then let go..." A voice called out in a white void of light.

"Let yourself go through the ethereal body of yours, sense it through." In a calming tone, the voice whispered to every arc of the room as it echoed throughout its entirety.

A whisper into the ear of a lass as she stayed in a meditative state, clearing her mind of all things, sound. Concentrating her mind, she held onto her gun as she imagines the surrounding through her closed eyelids.

"Separate yourself from this form, break through the barriers of space and time itself, think like a god, be a god."

As the word gave an unsettling tone, the lass gave out a soft and slow exhalation through the respiratory system. "But don't play like a god... There is only one and you must be its messenger. Feel as if God calls upon you, a gift known as life, your life."

Nodding slowly, the lass inhales again as she feels herself getting lighter. Still gripping tightly on her gun, she raises it slowly as she whispers a chant. A mystical chant.

It wasn't her who was chanting it, yet it was Id'dreek who slowly mixed and formed a bio-connection with the releasing body of the lass. The Goddess of Time and The Lady of the Elemental.

Outside of this unknowing pocket dimension, a screen was showcased, a hologram screen. Watched by a few of the old and new Elders of the guardians, NZ and a few other invited humans were allowed to take a watch through what was happening.

'So, what is happening, currently?" NZ asks as he faces the elders with a quick turn and a blink. "Other than she is learning how to do the time ability-jigs."

Ears flopping in response, Shimaya turns to the asking voice as she smiles and answers in a rather mellow and respective way. "Well, she has to purely balance her wavelength with Id'dreek so she can regain her true stage four like how you did it with me, quite a while ago. Just that, each user and guardians have a different method to do it."

Chuckling softly, she clears her throat and rubs her mouth with the knuckle of her fitted arm. "Excuse me..."

One of the newer Elder, who was known as The Lady of Predatorium which was a subtle combination of a nickname mixing in Predator and Praetorian, fitting for her beastly yet reptile skin that scaled together.

Other than just having feathery wings on her back which rustled alongside her strange feathered ears, her overall outfit was similar in regards to her looks, a maple-brown tinge of a blouse as greenish-black rags for shorts made their way to the ends of her kneecaps.

Licking her lips, wetting it due to her fast-drying flesh, her teeth as sharp as knives, pointed like daggers. "It's fine, Ma'am." She answers as she gives her continuing answer.

"Madam Shimaya is right, she is trying to wavelength in balance with Id'dreek which would take some time but since they seem to be quite fluid in cooperation and since they both are rather pure when it comes to their rather eccentric behaviour, I could say it can be quicker than a usual exercise. Let's continue watching, shall we?"

NZ nodding and not wanting to interrupt with the obvious higher-up, he turns back to the screen, slightly distracted by the flamed ears of Shimaya, which he blew off with a puff of his whistling breath, tickling her in the process accidentally.

"Huh...?" She grunted as she rubs her head with the sudden odd feeling. Flushing in crimson red of her rather light and pale skin, its rosiness became a little more obvious in clarity.

Back in the pocket dimension, the lass was reaching a certain dimension that she calmed mind was made by herself. With rhythmic ticks of an ancient grandfather clock surrounding throughout its unlimited space, she opens her eyes as it reflected the sight into her both the iris and the lens, like a mirror.

As the ticking gave some sort of imaginary counting of a number, the lass counts under her breath as she made returning breaths within her lungs. "One...two...three.." She mutters before she inhales before a recount and an exhale afterwards. As her time is chosen to stop, everything stops, a nanosecond accurate.

Since she was doing it in a rather secured area, the others who were watching the screen and the many other survivors out there in the desert wastelands were still breathing and moving around, their pulse counting simultaneously still as their heart continued beating.

However, the clocks that surrounded her, stopped magically at the same timing of one minute before striking twelve. But instead of just stopping, forwarding or reversing time, what Id'dreek and the lass want to achieve is much more. A gift that everyone would like to receive, a second chance. A replicate of time through a better future, A manipulation of not only time but dimensions and space itself. A reality-bending skill.

It may be quite a useful ability in the right hands but if it was in the wrong hands, such as its corrupted version, it could ruin not only their current timeline but also the many other wormholes that may be connected or exist. A full, worldwide, universal corruption. A virus which even god itself cannot decrypt if it was a computer engineer.

"Good one, Mary." The voice called out to her in a very pleased tone as she watches through the eyes of Mary who was frozen together in time. Making sense as the manipulation of time not only stops time itself but the body of the user too, except for the guardian.

Taking over her body temporarily, Id'dreek places her cuffed hands towards the middle of Mary's blossoming bosoms. Pressing deeply, she moves the mouth of Mary before she tries out the second spell and permission for the user to move freely through time manipulation itself. "Sequentia Tempore..." known as "The Continuation of Time".

With a quick return to reality, Mary quickly inhales a quick puff of oxygen and hydrogen through a compressed tank of specific elements before teleporting back to the dimension by the abilities of Id'dreek.

Concentrating and clearing her mind once more after circulating her blood with oxygen, she repeats a chant that is whispered through her ears. Though being able to be listened on and quite badly pronounced, it was an English translation of a spell, specifically made and only usable by the current user, Mary Walter herself.

With a serious change of face, she twirls her gun before pointing her USP immediately towards a grandfather clock. Taking a shot, the bullet pierced through it before shattering the mirror and the contents of the clock.

As it splintered and managed to explode to countless bits, the spell hits the clock just on time ironically as the bullet suddenly reverted to its original firing point without going through the barrel as the clock forms back to its original position and form, catching it with her spare bare hand of hers, somehow not injuring or burning her in no way.

"Good job, you learn quite fast, Mary. I am impressed." Id'dreek compliments her as awaits her user's response.

"Why, Thank you Id'dreek. I am most humbled by your compliment." Mary replies, with a proud and confident smile.

Nodding their heads behind the screen, they were impressed too with her quick-learning abilities. They deduced that she may be more than just what they bargained for when it just so happened to just be an accidental stumble from the beginning.

NZ a little proud of growing up a lovely lass like his own daughter, he felt like he did his best, to teach her what she is today.

Feeling a few taps on his shoulder, NZ turns around to notice Doctor Faltina who came through a personal portal, calling upon him for help. Whispering into his ear, that it was rather...urgent. "Come, you need to take a look at this." She says with a rather rushing tone.

As the portal closed, Shimaya and Sae-Yong who were present there watching the screen, felt worried as they then decided in their own accord to return to their crystals to watch what is happening and assist him if the time may be needed.

"Oh, they disappeared..." Járngreipr noticed as she felt a breeze of wind wiping a mark on her left cheek. "Him too." She whispers under her breath before crunching her neck and removing the gauntlets of hers from her arms, placing them onto the wooden oak table in front of her.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

As Mary managed to quickly learn both of her abilities, she trained once more but in a more quick and fast-pace situation to train her eyes and body to move as quickly as the wind's barrier and the speed of sound itself with the help of her guardian, so she won't accidentally injure herself in any vicious way.

"Alright, here we go!" She shouts as self-created targets were made, replicating bandits she encountered earlier as swiftly moves around, bending time against her will and moving at awkward speeds and movements too confusing for the naked eyes. Rather becoming either super-slow movements that barely made a frame or a super quick move where it looked like teleportation almost.

It was like becoming a star in the matrix, but rather than just that, you could do way more, like the creator of it. Using it to your advantages and manipulating it just for yourself.

As the bandits got shot quickly in bursts of three, they were immediately reversed and manipulated to die over and over again. As more blood spilt, the blood just cleans itself as it returns into the very pores of the organs and bones that kept crippling yet reversing back to its intact state.

It was gory but at the same time, it had a strange attraction into its oddity as it is not normal to see something like that unless it was artificially made through media itself.

Perhaps a movie, or animation, maybe even just a reenaction of murdering crime scene, whatever the case, it gave an intriguing and disgusting glance towards it.

"Now...the show you were waiting for..." Mary told herself in a graceful stride as twirls her gun. Id'dreek nodding to her, they both simultaneous smiled as Mary takes the gun and shoots her head.

As it did, the bullet didn't even penetrate her, rather it stayed still, spinning infinitely. As that occurred, everything started forming in a warbled mess before it changed into something else on its own.

Doing her best, to replicate her own peaceful and tranquil world, everything turned to a patch of green as it formed an evergreen garden that spread around all types of flora and fauna.

With achieving what she wished for, she made herself her very own heaven made by her own two hands and her brain.

Id'dreek amazed by the sight she sees, her eyes glittered and gleamed as she looks around with positive thoughts.

General Leutenegger stared at the screen as her face was stricken with surprise. "She did it..." She mumbles. "She did it..."

"Well, not really. She just managed to replicate her own space, what we promised is a reversal, or rather manipulation to combine every positive timeline into our current or rather transfer ourselves into there." One of the New Elder nearby her replied as she turns around to her. "But yeah, she managed it quite quickly, for a human."

With an impressed smile, Mary twirls around in the garden as she watches the lovely and multicoloured view she called her own new home.

Squatting down, she picks up a beetle that was roaming slowly onto a patch of grass. Inspecting it, it looked just like an accurate depiction and copy of the actual species. "Just perfect..." Mary says, happily.

"Well, I guess that is it for today, Mary," Id'dreek tells Mary as she started to yawn even-though Guardians don't feel tired usually. "Our first step was manageable but will it be possible for it to work on our entire universe?" She asks her first.

"Playing god can have consequences and god won't be happy for this without its permission, are you willing to do this?" As she asks her second.

"If, NZ's wish was possible, why won't mine be?" Mary asks back, as she faces the screen. "Am I right?"

"Right..." Id'dreek replies, surprised by the answer she gave back in an unknown fashion, not normal to her behaviour. "I suppose you are right, one way or another."

"Well, thank you, Id'dreek for guiding me this past few hours, it helped a lot. I think I can make use of these abilities. Maybe even revisit the past if I feel like it."

Mary replies as the thought of making a physical realm of the tape recording can make it easier for her to watch the full picture occurring instead of a one-sided or just a recording of voices. It sounds ridiculous but it is possible as long as her creativity and curiosity take their toll.

The funniest thing, she will be able to touch, feel, smell and hear them physically but they won't even realise or be able to alter their past as it already happened and cannot be inevitably changed from their present time, only manipulation can work which will just create another universe where a certain thing happened to another version of that person.

Reality bending, an ability so explicit and confusing even science itself has an oddity in explaining it.

"I am sure that idea could be useful, Mary!" Id'dreek replies as she pats Mary on the head before teleporting her and the blondie of a lass back to the meeting room. "Tadah!~"

As they returned, everyone there stood up and clapped at her for doing her overall best in gaining and understanding her newfound abilities.

Still, even if she can do "everything", she is human and humans have limits.

One small mistake and it is over for not only her but for the people she put trust in.

Even though smiling in reply to everyone's cheers, in her heart and mind, she is a little scared that she might lose not only herself but the people she loved, cherished and learnt from in a single snap if she makes a mistake.

An endless void of dark, a black hole.

Bowing in her proud manner, she looks at them with an embarrassed grin as she looks left and right. " Thank you, haha..." She laughed a little as she noticed NZ was missing.

"Where is NZ?" Mary asks as she slightly tilts her head and shrugs, a little confused that he wasn't there to congratulate her.

"Mr William left earlier, he was called upon by the Doctor because of something...rather, urgent." The Lady of Praetorium replied as she points towards the door. "I guess since you are free, you might as well catch up with him. General Shanina, I think our job is done for today. We shall execute the plans, next week. Till then, enjoy your last days and prepare whatever you want to take along in the New Times, soon."

"Sure, go ahead..." Leutenegger nods as she calls Whiplash to make up a portal for her.

Going through it, the portal shuts, leaving the Elders and the Guarding Unit of Guardians to stay which consisted of Echelon's 1 unit of guardians from Continuum-Past.

Ni-au, Whiplash, Malteva, Shin-ae and Sae-Yong. The strongest of the team and all but the only remaining survivors from the Old Tragedy.

However, Sae-Yong wasn't present as she had to assist her mother and her user NZ, better known as William. So she was excused from the meeting by choice.

"Alright, are you damn sure this plan is going to work for both us and the humans?" Járngreiper asked as she taps her finger hard on the table as she then points seriously towards the new elders.

"We are pretty sure, Older ones. We calculated this from the many old books that your mentors and other ancestors held upon or created." One of the New Elder answered as she summons a rotten and faded material of a book which leather with an odd securing ointment.

Turning open its fragile pages, she heads to a certain paragraph that explains the probability of time manipulation and how reality-bending can entirely make a new world all by itself.

"See here in passage twenty-six of paragraph two, it states in the relativity of calculation, time can be manipulated and adjusted through the science of both understanding and manipulating in the entire multi-door universes of different versions or paths one person may have chosen or ignored." The elder explains as she screens it on the same hologram.

"English please, I don't come from an age of science, I came from metalwork." Járngreiper rebutted as she sighs heavily, adjusting her hair lock.

"Ok ok." The smarty-pants of the New Elders replied as she tries to simplify the answer. "Alright, let's say your sword Excalibur was never forged, you may have never existed but in another universe, there can also be where you exist but never forged."

"Huh? Forged this, not forged. What are you saying? You mean one place I exist and then another I don't, yet in another, I do but isn't remembered?" The Lady of Steel replied in a flabbergasted manner as her intelligence wasn't as strong as the newer ones.

The Science Elder nodding, she adjusts her monocle before pointing her finger to another sentence. "Exactly what you mean, written right here. If multiple universes exist, it is possible there lies a universe timeline where everything was normal and positive forever with a few variations though a few may be lacklustre in development there can be others with more advanced technology, way better in the early age of time."

Opening her mouth, the Lady of Praetorium gives her own opinion. "So basically, we are going to make a copy of those timelines and merge them into one, but here's a trick. We will keep some history of the wars that occurred which benefitted in development, so we can exist, obviously."

Beo shaking her head, she understood what happens. "So what about The Happening, did that ever happen or not?"

"Yes, it will happen but instead of the Old Tragedy, Mary will revamp it with another timeline and make it start a new time which will reverse back to the start of their normal lives yet hold intact their memories of the war. Obviously, the males from both our species and theirs won't remember a thing and think that everything is normal but every female who lived to tell the tale as a civilian, soldier, scientist and well, also their family themselves will remember what happened, it sounds insane but that's the plan, right?"

"What in Ragnarok do you guys even mean with these alchemy crazy talk?" Jarngreiper rubs her face in utter sheer confusion. "You want a world where everything is perfect yet have everyone keep their current memories."

"Yes, in simpler terms." The Scientific Elder replied with a convincing nod.

"Also don't forget the many other jobs that exist too, they helped one way or another towards the civilians." The Lady of Praetorium added.

Beo nods as she squints and tries to make sure what their saying is correct in her head. "Why are we doing god's work again?"

"Because God isn't helping us because it or she or he isn't doing anything better with making our world any better. Do you want us to live with no males not die slowly to wasted land?" The Scientific Elder questioned. "I mean, yeah. What if God didn't -"

As the Scientist Elder was about to finish her sentence, she felt a burning sensation all over her body as her eyes were filled with a message, a message she deserves.

She grunts in pain as she holds her chest, unable to move, she suddenly was able to feel pain and drops to the ground before passing out.

"What the? What happened!" Predatorian asked as she pushes herself out of the chair and carries up the fainted Scientific Elder, placing her on her chair and laying her head on the table.

Beo chuckled as she snarled a smirk. "God replied her with a taste of her medicine I suppose. That's why being obsessed in science far too long can get you in trouble, you need to balance it out."

Whiplash facepalms as her thin tongue flapped outwards for a few seconds before she pulls it back in. "She tried to play God a little too seriously and broke her stage four limit, that's it."

Ni-au yawning, she meows softly and rubs her eyes. "What happened, I smell barbeque."

"Shut the fuck u-" Praetorium also soon gave the same punishment by the unknown source.

"I wonder how they became Elders, to be honest.' One of the other Newer Elder commented on her two partners punishment. "What a pain, my apologies Old Elders for their behaviour."

"I mean if they get punished, it's good enough. God gave the word and the permission to help their own mistake, Mary shall fix it. God is the universe, science is the brain." Beo replies. "I mean most stuff is man-made and others are just floating in space waiting to drop anytime soon."

Járngreiper slapping her cheek to gain attention, she looks at the others to make her final statement. "If this plan turns out stupid, I wish you all a lovely good-night."

As she stands up, she picks up her gauntlets and puts them on before entering her pocket dimension.

"I guess humans are not the only ones having a panic attack. I mean it makes sense, we may have never done this before in our entire aeons, this is something Guardians and Humans agreed upon for once in the lifetime." Griffon explains as she turns up from a portal of white light.

"Where were you all along, bird?" Whiplash asks as she crosses her arms.

"Me? I was just putting my two daughters to bed." Griffin answers as she makes an innocent smile.

"Are you s-sserious? You are the only one in our group who has a relation with the highes-sst form of Guardian-kind yet you decided to poof off your daughters-ss ins-instead. Goddamit." Whiplash shouts angrily as her S-pronunciations dragged along.

"I am sorry. But my daughters and I have emotions too!" Griffin's motherly tendencies slowly turned to defence mode. "You are no mother of any kind so don't yap about this and that without understanding, you hear me!?"

"Alright, alright. Chill. I am sorry." Whiplash replies as she gestures both her hands in a chestal surrendering position.

"Good!" Griffin suddenly turns back to normal and smiles as she turns to Beo. "Where were we?"

Beo, clearing her throat. She stood up and opens her portal. "Nothing much, we are all heading to bed. See you tomorrow, we shall discuss then."

Not wanting to frighten her, she didn't want to explain the horror story that she is going to give her which could potentially involve the very existence of the bird lady's own two daughters.

"Oh, alright then. I shall head home then." Griffin replies as she waves to Beo before floating to the air with a single flap of her wings before twirling and disappearing, leaving behind excess flocks of feathers.

Ni-au yawns once again as she stretches her arms upwards. "Let's just return to our contractees. I am pretty sure they are more worried than us."

Looking at the hologram screen and reading an intriguing line from the copy of the book's content on that certain page, Ni-au nods curiously before snatching the book, taking it along to let her partner take a read on it to make a better-educated deduction.
