I remember that day clearly, the day the ravens first took flight. It was a sight like no other, one neither I or any one had seen before. A few saw the sight for what it was an ominous sign, but the remaining naïve fools such as I simply stared in amazement as the sun and the blue skies faded to black with the loud caws of the ravens who laughed at the mortals below who were unaware of what had begun.
Scrolls soon fell out of the sky with one landing but a short distance away from the boy who kept staring with his mouth agape. The child filled with curiosity dropped the load he was carrying upon his back and ran to the scroll afraid that if he was any slower the scroll which appeared in such a fantastical manner would disappear in a manner just as fantastical.
Appearing before the scroll, the boy bent down a reached out with both arms to pick up the scroll but stopped when he was mere inches away. He brought his arms closer to his face to have a better look at them to see them completely covered in dirt.
He moved to wipe his hands over his shirt before reaching out once more to pick up the scroll, with the scroll at hand the boy made it back to his feet. At that moment the boy realized the rays of the sun had found their way back into the woods.
Looking above there was no sign of the cloud of ravens, allowing the woods to regain their natural peace and quiet. His curiosity for the scroll had now reached a new peak.
Undoing the velvet silk material used to tie the scroll he unfurled the scroll and what he saw caused his eyes to shine in wonder as the reflected the light from the scroll. He began to read its contents a skill he was lucky to have picked from his mother.
As he began to read the unfamiliar script he began to feel something strange move through his body, as the last word escaped his lips, a tree before himself burst into flames startling him and causing him to trip and fall on his bum.
His eyes remained widened with his mouth as he saw the scene he was just realizing he had caused it, 'I caused that' the boy kept repeating in his mind. His eyes remained widened but now they had a spark within that was easily visible to all but the most obvious change was his lips which now formed a wide grin which spread from ear to ear.

The child to another look at the scroll before looking around his eyes darting all around making sure the was no one around, rolling the scroll back up he tied it with the velvet silk material and hiding it under his clothes.
He hurriedly grabbed the load he had dropped earlier and began to run home as fast as his legs would allow, impatient to show his father what he had discovered.
Unknown to the boy who continued to make his way through the woods, every person across the continent had received a scroll. With the ones capable of reading doing so and replicating the feat the boy had performed in the woods.
Now something that was limited to but a select few was now in the hands of every individual, magic was no longer a privilege to the select few and every discerning individual knew at that moment something big had happened.
At a house located on the Isle of sages;
Knights all in heavy armor armed to the teeth surrounded the house, one of the knights moved forward standing mere inches away from the wooden door.
*Bam*Bam*Bam* "Open this door Deruna, your presence has been requested by our lord the Sage King to stand trial for your actions!" the knight received no response even after a few more minutes had passed.
The Knight turned to order an attack but was soon sent flying alongside a few other knights by an explosion. The knights who remained standing entered their battle stances aiming their weapons at where the door once stood.
The smoke blocked their vision and caused the men to heighten their senses preparing for an attack. "For millennium the council has held on to knowledge" a voice made its way into their eyes as a shadowy figure became visible in the cloud of smoke.
"Knowledge that could benefit the masses, abiding to archaic laws that hold no merit to society, but not anymore. Today I Deruna denounce the council" At this point Deruna was visible to all his almond skin color visible to all with his curly black hair making it's was down to his shoulder, what truly caught the attention of all present was the sheer madness visible in his eyes.
"Let knowledge flow freely, to hell with the Sage King, let chaos reign!" with a mad grin he launched a coupe of scrolls into the midst of the knights, the scrolls began to give off a bright orange glow causing the knights to move for cover as the scrolls caused massive explosions.
The streets were soon filled not only with the sounds of explosion but the wails of the knights who had been hit, alongside the screams of the people who hadn't managed to flee away in time.
Taking advantage Deruna performed a series of hand signs, giving the Knight who had managed to make it back to his feet and was now glaring at him a smirk before disappearing in a bright blue flash, leaving a flock of ravens who took to the skies.
