An essay on changelings in Sibalien by an Unknown Author
*Discovered on the person of a palladin, captured by a Fōrser Mountain Patrol*
Through most of my travels in the known world I have come across several different types of the people the common folk know as changelings. From the feline like community's in the south of Sørmen to the the scaled lizard people roaming the wastes of Yiseēn, none of these made quite the impact, as the hardships and danger's the city dwelling changeling's have to face every day. While in the more civilized societies in the north we treat these often unfortunate souls with a decent amount of respect, in the so called city of life, Ebessa the situation is drastically different. Not only is it the main city of the fanatical Order of the erupting Sun, but the people them self have an open hostility towards non-human. This foul behaviour becomes only worse the further a person body is from the norm. While some might be able to cover their "affliction" the once where it is openly visible are often subjected to cruelty and disgraceful behaviour.
To make matters even worse most guilds or establishments refrain from employing any kind of changeling. The only way for them to gain even a little respect in this xenophobic land is through being born into a noble family or joining up with the military. To those not lucky enough to have the first, or the idea of joining a death squad doesn't strike their fancy, the last option is to flee the empire or suffer a life in the slums.
Tommorrow I will implore the rumours I heard of a possible Changeling rebel encampment a few hours from here.
