Joan (22) is an unathletic artificing student at the university; a city of knowledge in Brimish. She has no plans for the future aside from finishing her studies and getting away from her family's shadow. She is a loner with no real friends to speak or spend time with. During a normal class in a laboratory an accident occurs leaving her hospitalized and her teacher dead. From here she starts feeling out of place and paranoic until one day her flatmate, Jacob (27), and his companion cause an incident to take her away. Leaving her traumatised although she hides her real feelings, trying not to show her perceived weakness.   She is taken into an underground organization; there she is trained in different areas to be able to participate in a selection process to become the new member in the assassin division. Joan Changes her name to Astrid as a representation of the starting point in her new life. She focuses on her physical training and developing her power as she knows those are her weak points.
