CH1:- The Boy named Anshul

In a faraway place under a twilight sky, unaware of his destiny a boy is sitting in his room alone, his name is Anshul Chandrahas. He is 18 years old boy, who lives with his father Dr Arun Chandrahas. Although he may look like a normal boy but...

{Oi, idiot what are you thinking so peacefully about?}

"How can I think peacefully when you are stuck in my head."

{Bastard, I have told you this countless time and I will say this again I am a part of YOU just like how YOU are a part of ME, you should start to accept this}

"Never"

In contrast to others, he experiences the sound of his own voice echoing within his mind-a voice that is simultaneously his own, yet distinct in nature.

{Yeah, whatever it's not like I can't hear your thoughts it just I want to hear directly from you}

He was not always like this; he was the same as any other kid until he witnessed his mother's tragic demise unfolding before his eyes. It was this traumatic event that shattered his once-whole being, dividing his personality into two distinct parts. The first part emerged as a self-blaming persona, burdened with guilt and remorse. The second part manifested as a tendency to place blame on others, shifting responsibility away from himself. As time passed, a peculiar occurrence unfolded within him - the voices of his other half began to echo in his mind. These voices, unlike his own, emanated fearlessness, intimidation, and aggression, creating an unsettling presence within him.

"Just shu-"

CHIKK

As he prepared to unleash his anger upon the voice in his head, he abruptly paused, interrupted by a separate voice emanating from downstairs.

{What's wrong? Go on express your anger and became a part of ME}

"Shh, he is here"

{Uhm!? That man has no sense of time}

"Son, have you had your dinner yet? If not, please come downstairs as I have brought dinner for you."

As Anshul had anticipated, it was his father who appeared. His father, an archaeologist dedicated to unravelling the secrets of lost civilizations, devoted his days either toiling away in his laboratory or venturing out to various field sites in search of new discoveries and evidence. He only returned home to inform his son of his upcoming departure for another field trip.

{Didn't he ever get tired of this}

"...Ok"

.............

At the dinner table, boy silently start to eat his food without saying anything as he waits for his father's usual questions.

"How was your day?"

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

"It was ok"

{Ha, like you care. Boy ask him when he is leaving}

"Oh, mine was also "ok" day. So, how is your collage search is going?"

{huh, it was not enough for him to send us to a dumb school, he now wants to send us to a collage now}

"...I am still looking"

"Ok, do you still hear voices in your head?"

{VOICES!! Bastard I am a part of him}

"No, why did you ask?"

"It's just you are taking a lot longer than usual before answering. If you still have issues, you can always tell me and continue your therapy, there is no shame in that"

{Therapy my ass, he just wants to send you to a faraway place}

"No, I am ok"

"If you say so. You know I too sometime feels sad about the death of your mo-"

"Where are you going this time?"

"...North, in the mountains. I will try to be quick this time."

"Ok, I have finished my dinner, and I will now head back to my room."

"Son, before you go, I just want to tell you that it was not your fault. You don't need to hide your feelings. You can share them with me and let them out"

"I am fine"

"If you say so, I will be gone before 6 in the morning. You don't need to stay up; I will leave silently."

After Anshul retreated to his room, his father was left alone. The atmosphere filled with silence as his father silently began tidying up the table. He then made his way to the sofa, where he sat alone, gazing at the picture of his wife on the wall.

"Anamika, what should I do? That kid needs someone to talk, maybe I am not good enough for him. How would you have responded in this case?"

He kept gazing at the picture still hopping to hear his wife's voice. Naturally no reply was heard, which made him sadder and angrier.

"Anami, I will make sure to find those bastards behind your death and avenge you! This is the promise I will sure keep this time!"

.................

At the break of dawn, 5 am, Dr. Arun stealthily slipped away from the house, completely unaware of the piercing gaze of his son witnessing his departure from his room.

{Idiot! If you were planning to stay up all night, you should have had the decency to bid farewell to your stupid father}

"Just sleep, you will never understand"

Soon the image of his father's back disappeared only leaving sunlight of the raising sun behind. After that Anshul spend his time alone in his room for next few weeks, at least that was supposed to happen...

[There is no ...time to...Ahh...explain, just...listen to me]

"Dad, are you ok? Where are you?"

[Listen...Go to my lab...quickly...and find the VB container]

"Your lab, why?"

[Sorry son but... is the only ...way to be safe]

"Safe? From whom? Hello?"

[I will tell ... later, just remember ..."at the time of sunset everything become magical"]

"Sunset? I don't understand. Hello?"

He couldn't move it was same as that time, the so difference was...

{Oi idiot, what are you doing laying on the floor like that? Didn't your stupid father ask you to go to his lab?}

Unlike last time he has someone to console him.

"What's the point of going?"

{Cheeky bastard, you are behaving like you father is death. Didn't he feel more alive than ever to you}

"What do you mean?"

{Just think who you are talking about? That bastard may be weak as a rat, but he is sly as a fox. He will be safe; you should worry about yourself}

"..."

{First thing first, let's go to that bastard's lab}

"He will be fine"

{Yes, he will be fine}

"He will be fine"

{Yes yes, now let's go}

"He will be fine"

Anshu starts to run to garage, where he removes a dirty cloth from his bike which was gifted by his mother. He starts the engine and rides towards the east, where his father's lab was located hoping for his father's safety.....
