Chapter 1: The Love Potion

Chapter 1: The Love Potion

I swirled the elixir in my hand. It was a greenish blue concoction with the consistency of honey.

“Hey old lady, are you sure this is safe?” I turned to the lady merchant in front of me who had agreed to meet me in a back street alley as per my maid’s instruction.

“With all due respect, Featherbees are only spotted once in a century. This elixir using it’s crushed talons are very hard to come by and I have plenty of customers willing to pay-”

“-Okay, hush now.” I tossed her my pouch of gold. The price was hefty but it is no match for a Nobleman’s daughter. “You have my permission to leave now, and you will not speak of this to anyone. The gold inside there should be enough to sew your mouth shut and I needn’t say what would happen to you and your family should words get out”

The old lady snickered at me and walked out of the alley into the bustling market. Both my maid and I hid under our hood’s keeping our guises up. We were careful to conceal our identities but one can never be too cautioned. Nobody needs to know why a Villin has business in the allies of the slum.

“Are you sure the Alexandar will pay attention to me after drinking this?” I turned to my maid, Rosie. She had been trusted to me from birth and would have my best interest at heart, and that would be Alexandar.

Normally, I wouldn’t set myself up to these low standards but recently Alexandar has been paying a lot of attention to that commoner girl. It was humiliating to vy for attention with a commoner when he was engaged to ME, a woman of noble bloodl! I will not let the House of Villin soil in shame.

Stolen novel; please report.

“The merchant said it will gift the drinker with worldly knowledge that will attract all those in high power. That surely describes your pursuit of Lord Alexandar, Lady Isla.” Rosie was a bootlicker. She would always be too scared to say anything wrong and always took me side and that’s exactly why I like her.

The thought of all getting the attention of all the noble suitors in capable positions made me excited. Father will surely be pleased as well. This was the answer to all my prayers.

I hastily popped upon the cork and down the glass in one shot. It burned down my throat and made my eyes water. It had a foul pungent taste that burned off my nose hair and made me want to spew it back out. It was the thought of being loved by Alexandar that I held it back in. That was the last thought before I felt the world spinning and fade into black as I fell backwards in slow motion

A rush of unfamiliar memories spun in my head. Memories of another world. I knew the faces there, felt the emotions and lived the memories in first person. I lived on a place called Earth and I was a broke engineering student that died from overwork before I could fulfill any of my dreams.

I remembered my past life. I’ve lived before.

“LADY ISLYA! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?” Rosie was hysterical and panicking trying to lift me up from the slum floor.

What the heck was that disgusting trash she fed me? I should have her punished for treason of poisoning her master-

“OH MY GOD, I'M A FREAKING VILLAINESS!!!”
