She was on her knees.
Her whole body was covered in wounds.
Her clothes ripped and shredded, tinted of the crimson dye of blood.
The clamor from the stadium turned into a snicker.
They were looking down on her, laughing at her, bringing her down.
A scornful and disdainful look was resting in her opponent's eyes, seizing everything, destroying everything, crushing her mind.
... Or so everyone thought.
Her eyes were looking down, but there was no trace of yielding, an everlasting fire, fueled by intense hatred and regret stood there.
Her lips opened up in a disturbing and twisted smile.
... But they could not see it.

"My victory is within grasp." thought lady Nys, the first princess of the empire.
"This trash dared to challenge me and yet look at her, she can't keep up.
The citizens know it, there is no place for her anymore.
Well, not that there was in the first place."
"I shall send you off properly, just to be sure not even your ashes dirt this sacred arena."
The princess's sword started glowing, enveloped in the everlasting light of the sun.
The holy sword, the sacred treasure of the empire, was being used to kill a measly commoner.
Nevertheless the princess was eager to show her power to stabilize and secure her position as the throne successor.
Holy Sword Slash: Will of the Goddess.
The legendary slash, a symbol of honor and pride for the empire, quickly approached ???, assuring the victory of the princess.
A loud clamor of excitement and joy quickly rose from the spectator's seats.
That single hit was an exclusive skill of the royal family ever since the first hero used it to slay the ancient demon lord.
And yet, here it was used, as a ritual for the throne.
It was a sure victory.
That single sword swing was widely known for being unstoppable and the definition of divine.
A radiant beam approached ???, followed by a loud noise.
The arena crumbled to pieces, and a large-scale mist of dust covered the whole place.
The princess started laughing.
She was happy.
After all, she did not know what defeat was.
Unparalleled, invincible and perfect, were words that seemed to be created only to have a way to describe her.
And yet, something strange happened.
* * *
It was empty, space and time were but a mere illusion here.
The void was the only description that it could be given in this situation.
A single body was harmlessly floating in this sea of nothingness, oblivious.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

The silence welcomed her.
She woke up, but she could not move.
Her eyes were shut tight, and her body was lying down.
With immense effort, she barely managed to open her mouth.
Her cherry little red lips, facing towards the burning sun, finally muttered those words:
"What the fuck".
She tried to stand up, but her body wouldn't budge.
Seriously, what is going on?
She attempted to roll on a side, but alas, her physical strength was too low.
Since she could not move at all, her mind started overflowing with thoughts.
Either way, who am I?
What's this place?
Why am I here?
And several others of similar nature.
So let me get this straight.
I am right here, in the middle of nowhere, with no idea of my identity, but, as a matter of fact, I know what the word identity means.
I have a definite personality.
I seem to be able to elaborate concepts without having recollection of where I learned them.
Amnesia? Probably, but this seems more complex.
Not only that, but this body seems unable to move, and every input sent by my brain causes me pain.
She slowly opened her eyes.
If opening my eyes is this hard, I dread the moment when I will be able to run.
She sighed again and started inspecting her own body.
I seem rather young, probably around 20 years old.
My gender is female.
I have no particular marks on my white skin and my hair is black.
I am currently wearing some kind of leather t-shirt and leather pants.
I don't have any shoes.
I am not carrying any items with me.
My senses are working fine.
My vision at the moment is slightly blurred since I just managed to open my eyes.
My body is in pain due to my atrophied muscles.
Clearly, I have been in this position for quite some time, unconscious.
Happy with the result of self-inspection, she closed back her eyes and loosened up.
I will rest a bit more, and then I will decide what to do.
After ten minutes, she opened her eyes again.
Let's get this started.
Let's see.
The best way to stand up should be using my knees as support and work my way from there.
The pain kept swirling through her body, but she did not stop.
Knees are ready.
Next, I need to stabilize my position through my hands.
She barely managed to succeed.
Lastly, I need to push.
She pushed both with her legs and her arms, but her strength quickly subsided.
Man, who thought even standing up was this hard.
I will try again later since I need to stand up as soon as possible.
I don't know my surroundings.
Staying here might get dangerous.
This sight of endless sand truly works wonders for demoralizing me.
Three hours later, she tried again.
She used all the strength of her body, now more responsive, and finally managed to stand up.
Fuck, finally, that took me long enough.
Now that I can check this place better, it's weird.
It does not seem to be animals or lifeforms of any kind.
It's empty.
It's night, but I don't feel cold, and the sand puts my mind at ease.
Now then, let's choose a direction.
She looked right in front of her, towards the horizon.
Looking for cardinal directions seems pretty useless.
At the moment, I don't have any idea of what is outside of this desert.
I don't even know if it ends.
But I can't keep going without food or water, so I'd better find another place to rest.
Something like an oasis would be pretty nice.
Well, the fun can wait.
Right now, I need to focus on gaining control of my body.
Learning how to walk is next.
She slowly tried to take a step forward, but her legs started shaking.
Soon enough, she fell back on the ground with a loud Ponf.
I am lucky this is sand.
It would've been quite a problem if it was stone.
The falling and getting back on her feet process kept repeating itself for six long and painful hours until finally, she succeeded.
Success! Now I can walk properly!
But still, this gets me wondering.
Why is this body in this state?
Well, even if I think about it right now, just more questions will arise.
At the moment, I am not comfortable with the situation to test based on suppositions.
Let's get moving.
