So that's Book 1. Took me about a year and 7 months to write and like all projects my enthusiasm fluctuated. Hence why the last chapter took so long to come out. Turns out fight scenes are difficult to do, and do well (I'll get there eventually).

I have a plan for the second book, which will conclude the story. My aim is to explore the world over the edge in the raid. Why it's so dangerous to these magically enhanced beings and why the Yorks needed the Satyrs.

But for now I will be taking a break from this series. I have few ideas for other projects that I want to hash out before they bubble away into the ether. I tried writing them at the same time as The Unusual Shepherd. But it was impossible, for me. Switching perspectives and tone and blah blah. So I wrapped this book up with a somewhat satisfying ending.
