I was still thinking about how to confess. How should I begin? Should I hold his hands? Maybe his face? Or just stand besides him? There were so many ways but I just froze here. Now at the most important moment. When I have him alone for me, my body decides to freeze here.
“Eva!” Axel loudly calls me.
It made my body jump by surprise. I stare at him nervously now.
“Y-yes!?”
He stares at me, deep into my eyes. I can even see my reflection on his iris.
Both of us are nervous, I can feel it. He gives me his hand, I take it and helps me stand. Holding both my hands now. We both are trembling, maybe because of the coldness of this night. Or because we both are nervous of the situation.
“E-Eva.”
But I didn’t expect how calm I would get, how relieved. As if my body felt a huge weight leave my body, once I got to know his feelings for me. It was all I needed to be happy.
“Eva, I love you. Please go out with me!”
I can't help but let the tears set free. I hug him strongly as I let him know my answer.
"Yes! I want to go out with you!"

Her hug warms me, the freezing, the coldness, the nervousness. It all disappeared. All I felt was her body, her hug, her arms around me, her face placed in my shoulder. I hugged her back, happy she accepted. This happiness fills my body with warmth. It feels so unique, so special, so incredible. This was the moment I was dreaming to happen. And it was finally fulfilled.
But that moment felt short, as she took a step back and stared at me. I saw her tears, I knew it was from happiness. But I decided to wipe them with my thumb, leaving my right hand later placed on her left cheek.
Our eyes hold strong contact with each other. We both desire something from this moment. One step further to confirm our love. Our faces get close, our lips search for the other. As we close our eyes our lips touch and a mesmerizing feeling fills our body.
This moment feels magical. I could even hear our hearts beating in this cold yet warm night. My left and her right hand are entangled with each other, feeling calmed, keeping the other warm.
Our kiss feels like it lasts for an eternity, until both of us decide to separate our lips. But our eyes hold a strong contact.
Minutes pass with us standing like this. Admiring each other. We even ignored the two idiots who were watching us from afar. I did notice those two since we went out but ignored them all this time. Until they took the action to finally bring us back to earth.
We shared the news of our new relationship and they congratulated us. We had a blast talking about lots of stuff. Reminiscing a bit how we all met, our friendship growing and now today’s event.
After some time there my mother walked out and called us in since soon it will hit 12 o clock. We all enter together though mother stops me and Eva as she notices we two are holding hands. Asking us two what has happened and then we tell her that we are dating now. She congratulates us two hugging us both and happily expressing herself how she is happy for us both.
Then we enter back inside and present my family and the rest of the invited people to Eva as my girlfriend now. Everyone congratulates our new relationship and the party continues for a bit more.
Mother then goes to the kitchen and brings out the cake, an iced cake. My favorite. Made of three layers, one internal layer where the sponged cake is, covered around and on top of it with a layer of gelatin with cream milk and lastly on top of it a layer of strawberry gelatin. Finally adding lightened candles with the number 18.
Mom places the cake on my table and I go stand behind it.
Everyone sings “Happy Birthday” to me.
Once it ends, I get close to the candle.
“Make a wish!” Mother says.
Tradition in my family, or rather, my culture. I don’t truly know about others. But we always make a wish when blowing a birthday candle. Sometimes our wish is a goal for this year we live through. Sometimes it is just a reminder of a goal. Other times are truly a wish to obtain something we don’t have.
But in my case. I already have everything I need.
What type of wish should I decide to go for? I do not know.
I have everything I need right now.
Health.
Friends.
Family.

I heard the same voice again. Less distorted. It seems only to be in my head though. Since I opened my eyes yet Eva was just feeling the moment.

This time I hear it clearly. It is no joke. What will happen? No matter where I look, I can only see Eva’s worrying expression and the obscure night that is lightened slightly by the moon.
