Chapter 15: The Operation
Zhou Qi looked at the boss of the warehouse with a stiff face.
The man's eyes were wide open, his mouth foaming. The fool even wetted his pants, a stinky smell roaming the air.
Zhou Qi couldn't help but facepalm. This was the stupidest death he had ever seen in his life.
Zhou Qi only decided to strike the man's chin to put him to a good night's sleep. He planned to play with the man later, getting the guy to cough out information.
But this lucky guy died of a heart attack or stroke. Whatever it is, the fool got the easy way out.
Zhou Qi touched his chin; he furrowed his brows in thought. Am I that scary? He thought.
Still, he was glad. The smoother, the better.
Zhou Qi checked the warehouse shortly. He pulled out a shiny badge from his pocket. And just like before, he put his fingers on his lips in gesture. Some of the children wailed but was stopped by the adults in their respective cages.
Hope shone in the eyes of the captives.
He put his best smile on. Comforting the captives for even a little.
"Wait for me. We're almost done."
Zhou Qi clicked his radio earpiece again. "Warehouse no. 4 neutralized."
Zhou Qi immediately ran towards. Warehouse no. 2. The way to warehouse no. 1 and warehouse no. 2 was a simple straight walkway. As soon as he arrived, he saw Cheng Shi lying in wait for him.
"Mission."
Mission Requirements. Dead devil smugglers 12/53, save captives 0/507, Search for more information (Completed).
Cheng Shi nodded at him. He also cast a look at Zhou Qi's bloody bat.
Zhou Qi then peaked in the hallway, he only saw one man guarding the two doors.
"Can you shoot him dead? I'll catch him."
Cheng Shi nodded, his Ezio-style cosplay waved in silence.
Zhou Qi's eyes brightened. "So cool! I want one!"
"Okay. Finish everything within 10 seconds once we open the doors." Zhou Qi gathered strength on his legs, preparing for a short burst. " I'll signal everyone outside when we finish."
Cheng Shi moved his head. He looked at his watch again. He then took his pistol with a silencer, aiming at the man. His movement smooth and elegant, very natural. Rather than a high-strung infiltrator, he looked like a man walking his dog to the park.
Of course, Zhou Qi was the dog.
"Pst."
Zhou Qi dashed along with the wind, utilizing his strength and dexterity. He picked up the dead man's body. His eyes signaling at Cheng Shi.
The two immediately ran towards the door. Putting their ears on the doors, they checked. Cheng Shi raised one of his fingers, the same as Zhou Qi. They changed their position and agreed on the number.
Then, they choose their own doors.
"Good. Let's get in. The mutts outside are far enough to hear anything."
With a bang, Zhou Qi and Cheng Chi both kicked the door. The armed kidnappers inside both doors were shocked, their eyes widened.
Before the kidnapper could even pick their guns. Cheng Shi cleanly put a hole inside one of the man's head. No nonsense, pure skill. With a thud, one of the last kidnappers fell.
Zhou Qi dashed like a tiger, putting his strength on his legs, arriving at the face of the dumb mutt in a flash. His right fist flew towards the chin of the poor guy like a rocket. A good blow coming from a thug.
The poor guy flew in the air.
Zhou Qi then threw a few jabs to the liver and another to the kidneys.
The left hand of Zhou Qi clutched the man's neck. In a jiffy, a cracking sound echoed. The man was dead with his eyes wide open.
Zhou Qi pulled out his phone. Opening an exclusive FV and WChat-like app made by Fatty Jhin. He selected the names of Fatty Jin, Sasa, and Lieutenant Chu.
Zhou Qi: "We're done. Please wipe them out. Lieutenant, we're going to need a lot of medic and ambulance here. The estimated number of captives is 500. You owe me quite a lot."
Sasalamander: "Roger Boss! Can't wait to beat up some asses."
Fatty Chin: "Good job, Lieutenant Chu would pay us big!"
Boss Chu: "Thanks, wait for the big pay! I finally caught these rats!
With that, Zhou Qi closed his phone. He gazed at Cheng Shi and nodded.
"Let's guard the door."
The whole warehouse had only one door in the front. It was as if the entire place was designed to become a prison. No safety measures are needed.
Cheng Shi aimed his reloaded pistol on the door. Waiting for the next prey. Meanwhile, Zhou Qi pointed his metal bat like a gun. He didn’t even need to aim at all. A good ol’ smash was already perfect for a swift decapitation.

…
Sasa and Lieutenant Chu's glaring match lasted over minutes. It was only when they received the go signal of Zhou Qi that it ended. The tension kept the police officers on their toes.
Zhou Qi's chat was a saving grace. The police officers couldn't help but sigh in relief.
On the other hand, the dumb mutts were still foolish as usual. They loved pasting themselves on the metal boxes. The fools were waiting for the cover of the night fog. From time to time, they would peek only to be showered with bullets by the snipers.
Lieutenant Chu and her men realized that this guy were amateurs. It was a group of ragtag goons given with guns. Not even using any smoke bomb to clear the way was a giveaway. They're not the same guys whom they encountered last time.
Zhou Qi and Cheng Shi managed to finish everything quite fast. Not more than 10 minutes had passed.
"Men were going! Shoot them dead if they fire a shot or even dare to aim. If they surrender shoot their two legs and two hands." Lieutenant Chu roared to the police. "Shoot them as many as you want! Keep them pasted on the floor. I don't want anyone dying! Are we clear?!"
After the void shocks, the police were required to undergo a higher level of training. Their current standard was not something scoffed at.
They must be able to handle any unique situation. Rather than regular civilian police, the team looked more like a SWAT or Army Special Forces. If they feel something wrong, they won't hesitate to shoot people dead.
It was one of the reasons why Lieutenant Chu grieved the loss of 20 of her men. These guys were veterans. Individuals that survived through void shocks and zealot attacks. They both know how to handle both humans and zealots.
These people couldn't be trained with only time. Talent, experience, strong will, and skills in combat were a necessity.
In return for their service, these people received the best the City of Trent could offer.
Wealth, power, and influence.
Of course, as long as it is under the iron-clad rule of the city. After all, the current ruler of the City of Trent was a man of justice. He stuck as a sore thumb in these times of unexplainable craziness.
"Yes, Ma'am! Clear!" The men of Lieutenant Chu saluted. Their voices ringing crystal clear. It couldn't hide the burning bloodlust and anger within. The death of their friends and work colleagues had struck a chord in their minds.
It was a blood debt.
Meanwhile, Sasa was stretching her body. Punching the air for a short warm-up. She was like a graceful cat dancing with a wool thread. Even so, none of the police nor the Lieutenant dared to laugh.
Only the good ones could catch a glimpse of her flashing army blade. At most, they could only see a sharp glint appearing in mid-air.
After the appearance of zealots, void calamities, and wielders. The common sense of the old days had already been obsolete. With enough talent and will, one could surpass the human limits.
As if the appearance of these monsters destroyed the limits of humanity.
After finishing her warm-up, she gazed at Lieutenant Chu and scoffed. "I'm ready!"
Touching her earpiece, Lieutenant Chu ordered: "Good! Snipers cover us!"
"Affirmative."
Soon, loud, rattling noises echoed. The cover fire had already started.
Sasa entered the prey. She jumped from the second floor of the building where they were hiding. Her movements, silent and smooth. She arrived at boxes and then dropped like a cat.
With a swishing sound, blood splattered on the ground. The fierce lady gutted out the neck of her first victim. She pulled the Uzi in her side and started shooting everywhere.
The police followed under cover of Sasa's fire, popping up like mushrooms from all sides. They enclosed the area carefully, trapping the dumb mutts.
"No! Ahh!"
"I don't want to die!"
"Help!"
"Arggh!"
Merciless gunshots rang throughout the place. The special police were true to their promise to the Lieutenant. Aside from the dead ones, gutted dead by Sasa.
The others all laid on the floor unmoving but shouting like slaughtered pigs.
They were pinned on the ground. A shot on the arm joints, leg joints, and everywhere. It was enough to immobilize them… like for... forever. After the interrogation, these dumb mutts would probably not see tomorrow.
The video and pictures sent by Zhou Qi had already fallen to the hands of the special police. In the eyes of the police, they were shooting monsters, not pigs nor humans. So, no mercy was needed.
The kidnappers screamed in terror. Only realizing their error in the middle of an armed dog fight.
"We need a smokescreen!"
"Yes! Yes, we have smoke screens. Everybody, throw your smoke bomb, flashbang anything! I need to live!"
Hearing the shouts of kidnappers, the police held their positions, stopping their pursuit.
"Spshh…"
In a few seconds, smoke fog and loud ringing echoed. Then, the gunfire continued. Despite the smoke and tear gas, the police struck the remaining kidnapers to the ground.
The police neutralized some of the running mutts. With their trained skills, they shoot the arse of the fools. Then, a few shots to the arms and legs, pasting them to the ground. Their blood designing the floor bloody red.
Calm and Collected.
Based on the places where the bullet struck the mutts. Any shooting expert would know how the special police officers loathed these guys.
For the others who were able to run to the door. They don't really care. After all, the Zhou Qi was there lying in wait.
…
Rattling gunshots echoed outside the door. Zhou Qi and Cheng Shi knew that the raid had finally begun. Soon, screams and yells boomed along with the sounds of the whistling bullets.
"Mission Status"
Mission Requirements. Dead devil smugglers 20/53, Save captives 0/507, Search for more information (Completed).
Zhou Qi knew that the others were saved for the interrogation. He forgot to tell Lieutenant Chu that he already had all information. Putting his hand in his chin, he formed a tale. A believable story for the police.
Zhou Qi and Cheng Shi heard shouts about a smoke boom, tear gas, or flashbangs. From then on, the two knew that it was once again their turn.
Waiting for their prey to walk into their traps.
Along with the gunshots, footsteps sounded outside the door. Ragged breathing and loud yelps followed.
"Manard! Open the door, fast!"
"Move or we're going to die!"
Zhou Qi looked at Cheng Shi with a smile.
"How many?"
"Five."
"Same."
Zhou Qi raised three fingers on his left hand. "I want three."
Cheng Shi shifted his head a little. "I want all of them."
"Come on, I'm the boss. Give me these goodies. I need to stretch my muscles out."
Thinking for a moment, Cheng Shi waved his hand, raising a single finger. "Fine, but I want a day-off."
With a grin, Zhou Qi tapped his metal baseball bat. "Deal!"
The two hid on the door of warehouse no. 1. Cheng Shi simply took a seat and pulled out his phone. With zeal, he clicked the Tetris app and played.
He was happy and content about the deal.
Meanwhile, Zhou Qi waited for the five dumb mutts.
…
The doorknob shook and ruffled. With a tick, the door was unlocked. The door was pushed in haste; five men rushed inside before locking the door again from inside.
'Cough, cough..."
"We're safe! What the heck happened?"
"We gotta find the boss first. He'll know what to do."
Bam!
But before they could even pass the first door. One of the last survivors fell flat on the ground. Shifting their heads, they saw his face bloodied and caved in. He couldn't be deader than dead.
In horror, they pointed their gun at the man with a metal baseball bat.
The man was smiling like a devil. Then, before their very eyes, he dashed towards them.
"Heck! Fire! Fire! Kill the bastard!"
They showered the man with bullets. But the man threw his baseball on another man's face as he dodged the bullets.
The man then moved around like a ghost. He was running on the ceiling and walls of the hallway.
"Two down!"
With a dash, the man arrived in front of the other three. Three jabs followed. One for each of them. Before they even realized anything, the three saw themselves flung in midair. The man then jumped in the air. He whipped his knees towards their face.
Then, everything went blank.
…
Pop.
Like a watermelon, the skulls of the two of the three popped out. Headfirst, their body fell to the ground, sending dust into the floor.
Zhou Qi landed, stretching his back of muscles.
The last mutt survived since he was an essential piece in the plan prepared by Zhou Qi. So, knocking him senseless was enough.
"Feels great!"
