Raging Fracture

I unleashed my right arm like a spring, the force of my punch connecting squarely with Roman's face. His features contorted inward, the impact of the strike reverberating through his entire being as he absorbed the blow head-on. Without a moment's hesitation, I seized the opportunity, bending my wrist to grasp his collar with a vice-like grip. The adrenaline surged through me, my veins pulsating with the intensity of the moment as I propelled myself upward, lifting Roman into the air in my wake. As we hung suspended in mid-air, locked in a precarious dance of combat, I knew that this was my moment to strike. With a primal roar echoing through the arena, I twisted my body, channeling my power into a devastating slam.

With a flick of my wrist, I released my grip on Roman's collar, allowing him to plummet towards the unforgiving stone below. He fell like a ragdoll, his body twisting in mid-air before crashing face-first into the cold, gray slab with a sickening thud, the impact punctuating the earlier blow to his head. The consequences of that single strike were immense, sending shockwaves rippling through the air as wind and rubble scattered in every direction. Sensing the danger of his potential resurgence, I took several hurried steps back, creating distance as I braced myself for whatever might come next. As the smoke and debris began to dissipate, revealing Roman's motionless form lying prone on the ground, a sense of grim sadness. Surely, this had to be done, I thought, as I watched for any signs of movement.

But just as I dared to breathe a sigh of relief, a sudden flurry of movement shattered the stillness. Roman's fingers clawed desperately at the ground, his body betraying signs of life even in the face of defeat. Refusing to let him rise again, to continue the cycle of violence and bloodshed, I walked near him. With a primal roar echoing through the air, I launched myself into the air once more, my feet raised high as I prepared to deliver the final blow. I descended upon him with all the force I could muster, my sole ready to end this.

As the purple miasma retreated from Roman's body, a sense of foreboding crept over me, the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end. The eerie fog soon engulfed the area around him, casting a sinister hue over the once-familiar surroundings of the arena. My instincts screamed at me to be cautious—this was no ordinary phenomenon unfolding before my eyes. In a heartbeat, the aura propelled myself into the sky, with my body soaring high above the clouds. But even from this vantage point, I could sense the malevolent energy pulsating from the swirling vortex of purple mist that now consumed the arena.

My thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a sudden glint of purple light appearing beside me, a harbinger of impending danger. Before I could react, Roman's sword slashed through the air with deadly precision, aimed directly towards my mouth. I threw up my guard, the clash of metal against skin ringing out. Even as I deflected the blow, the sheer sharpness behind Roman's blade sent shockwaves through my body, the vibrations tearing through my jacket and biting into my skin with razor-sharp intensity. I gritted my teeth against the pain.

I glimpsed Roman, his body taking on a purple mist. But it was his eyes that sent a shiver down my spine—empty, devoid of life, with no trace of humanity within them. Roman unleashed a left hook towards me, his right hand firmly gripping the hilt of his sword. Reacting with lightning-fast reflexes, I prepared to counter his left hook with an axe kick, aiming to get him off me and gain the upper hand. I fired the kick, him accepting the force of the blow. He wanted that to happen! He anticipated my move, his fist veiled in the swirling purple aura of his newfound power.

The impact of his hammer fist sent pain coursing through my body, the force of the hammer fist knocking me off balance and hurtling me towards the unforgiving ground below. With a sickening thud, I crashed back-first into the earth, the impact stealing the breath from my lungs as I struggled to regain my footing. While falling, I launched a cross-armed wind gust towards Roman, hoping to catch him off guard and create an opening for a counterattack. His sword flashed with deadly precision as he deftly blocked my desperate assault. I met Roman's dead gaze, my voice ringing out defiantly in the midst of the chaos. "This isn't the end!"

The impact with the unforgiving concrete sent a jolt of agony coursing through every nerve in my body, leaving me momentarily stunned and breathless. As I struggled to push myself up, I saw Roman's sword poised above me, the gleaming blade a deadly promise of impending doom. I rolled to the left, narrowly evading the lethal stab that would have surely ended my life. The close call left my heart racing and my breath ragged, but I knew I couldn't afford to falter now. Taking a moment to steady myself, I rested my elbow on my knee, forcing my breathing to slow. I prepared to face Roman's next assault. As he unearthed the sword from the rubble, he frightened me. Not to a major extend, but he did. His mouth was steaming with malice. This was his true power, his true nature laid bare for all to see.

With a mocking sneer, Roman dragged the sword across the ground, the deafening sound echoing through the arena like a sinister countdown. His words hung in the air like a death knell, a chilling reminder of the imminent danger that loomed over me. "Tick, tock, tick, tock." he taunted, his voice dripping with sadistic glee. "Are you counting? I am. Soon is to be your last second alive, sheep." Despite the pain radiating through my slouched back, I the power within me to stand tall once more. With a grimace, I grasped my jacket tightly with both hands. With a swift motion, I spread my arms wide, tearing the fabric of my jacket away.. My muscles pulsed with excitement, them having more bravery than I currently.

As Roman brought his sword to his side, his eyes widening with the intensity of a hunter closing in on his prey, he stood. The aura surrounding his blade intensified, crackling with black sparks that danced ominously in the air. I held my arms outward, flexing my muscles as if to challenge the very forces of aura itself. With a fierce determination burning in my eyes, I focused on channeling my inner strength, pushing past the pain and exhaustion that threatened to consume me. Though the blood continued to flow from the wounds that marred my flesh, I refused to let it weaken me any further.

His speed had surged to heights beyond anything I had ever faced before, surpassing my speed by more than fivefold and leaving me at a distinct disadvantage. I know that my only hope lay in harnessing the one advantage I still possessed—my raw, unbridled power. But with Roman's blade crackling with dark energy and his eyes burning with an unquenchable thirst for bloodshed, his sword would be my downfall. His sword resists my strength and partly negates my durability, making it my number one enemy. Roman, without his sword, frankly, stood a much lesser chance of winning. With this in mind.. there's only one option.

It's time.
