Prologue: There Was Once Great Peace and Harmony

Prologue: There Was Once Great Peace and Harmony

When he had awoken, he had all the knowledge the world could provide. He was born of the Earth, planted as a seed by his mother on an island she knew only he could survive on, he began his life filled with sand and incredible heat. This was good for him, he preferred the heat over the cold in the first place, so he grew at a fast rate. It took a few thousand years until he was strong, but once he had hit his six thousand and forty fifth birthday, he decided to bring life to the desert island his mother had planted him on all those years ago.

With his guidance, three hundred thousand years later the island had ceased to be a desert. In it's place blossomed a beautiful forest with freshwater streams and animals of all kinds. In the center of this forest was the tree that had started it all. It's branches spread out and over for more than a mile on all sides, the leaves never changing from it's deep green color that contained a hint of golden red on the corners.

The tree was highly sought after by others, but once anybody stepped foot into the forest they were immediately chased out by creatures of the forest as well as special flowers that just so happened to be spread out at the corners of the island for protection.

Around the eleven hundred thousandth birthday of the tree, it was full grown. The forest was as strong as ever, and the waters surrounding the island it lay upon was as clear as the sky was blue. It was on that day the tree was engulfed in a deep blue light, spreading across it's whole being until there was nothing but an orb that overtook the whole island. If there had been any people around out at sea they would have been blinded by the intensity of the light.

Within ten minutes, the light had died down. The forest had not changed, but the tree was gone. Laying on the dark, fertile soil where the tree once stood laid a tall red haired man. His eyes slowly opened with a hint of drowsiness as he carefully sat upright. Glancing around, a slow smile spread across his face. The man of the forest had awaken.

Fear and excitement spread through the small girl as she bolted through the training grounds set out for her by her older brother. It was common for the training to start at the age of six, but she was a year younger than that. The guild had proposed for her to start to build up her magic capacity and strength as soon as possible for her own safety.

Of course, the girl didn't truly know that. All she knew was that her brother was watching the training commence, so she had to do her best and impress him. Slight pain made her cringe as she stepped into the gravity plane, her small body not accustomed to the feel as she continued running.

The memories of her mother’s eyes being ripped out of her skull only pushed her on. It was two years ago that the evil creatures had burst into her parents’ house and murdered her mother right in front of her while her father had run out to attack the intruders head on. If it wasn't for her brother showing up with his team of guild members she would have died as well.

She vowed to become stronger since that day, and she hoped to find her father as well. All the emotions of the past came back up as she fought back tears and pushed on. She hated when those memories came back up from where she had pushed them down, they always seemed to do so at the worst time.

The girl didn't see the finish line when she passed it. Her training as a special unit Mage had begun.
