Chapter 1: Beginner's Quest

Chapter 1: Beginner's Quest

I was interrupted by a voice that sounded like dying a few meters from where I decided to set my trap for fishing.

"S-someone. P-please h-help m-me."

I decided to check what it was and found a blue winged-cat. Its nose has some watery thick liquid coming from its nostrils. Upon inspecting it, the winged cat has Colds, a common disease that is also found on Earth. It was also shivering.

Lucky for this little guy, I had some lemon-looking fruits from a tree I found yesterday.

I took the little guy and wrapped him with my scarf. I made a fire and slightly rolled the lemon-like fruit. When I saw the fruit skin was slightly burned, I took it out and sliced it before squeezing it directly onto the little guy's mouth.

I took care of the winged cat and nursed it to health. Because I was not entirely sure which planet I landed on, I needed someone who I could talk to. I heard the cat's voice and it could talk. Maybe he has an idea or information about where I was.

Few days after I found the cat, it was now able to stand up and seemed like the colds had gone. I was able to talk to him because he has a name and he was a male.

"So what you are trying to say is that you landed here and that you came from another world, correct?" a winged Blue cat-like asks me after I save him from a deadly sickness called, Common Colds.

"Yes," I answered.

"And an unknown Goddess attacked you and your sister while you were traveling, correct?"

"Yes," I said. "The Goddess took my only family. I was sealed and cast into a deep slumber and upon my awakening, I wandered for days until I found you, almost dying."

"Ahhh yes! Thank you for helping me. If you didn't arrive, I was probably dead by now. So as a payment, I will do my best to help you about this world and to find your sister," Wansai said and gave me a smile.

Suddenly, a white opaque color screen appeared before me.

System activated!

-

Hello, Traveler welcome to the Planet Vur

"Hey, uhm can you see this thing?" I asked Wansai and he nodded.

"That's your system. Actually I was a system-generated cat and it's my job to guide otherworldly travelers. It has been so long since an outsider appeared here," Wansai explained. "Once a system was activated, so is my memory about it. Congratulations, Traveler Red and I welcome you to my world, Vur," he added.

I didn't know if I would feel happy or not. Honestly, I was hoping to find my sister here or gather information about the Goddess.

A notification popped on the screen, vanishing the previous message.

"Oh, you already received a beginner's Quest? That's good. Now tap the second icon on the upper part of the right side of the menu screen next to the inventory icon," Wansai instructed.

I tapped it and the opaque screen was changed into an almost white screen with yellow letters.

Before me, was my information.

I noticed the Question mark labeled with the elemental mastery and the details about it as follows

Elemental Mastery can strengthen the benefits gained from Elemental Reactions. The following are the benefits:

-Increases damage dealt by Vaporize and Melt by __ %

-Also increases damage dealt by Overloaded, Superconduct, Electro-charge, Burning, Shatter, Swirl, Bloom, Hyperbloom and Burdeon by__%

-Increase the Damage Bonus provided by Aggravate and Spread by __%

-Increases the Damage absorption power of shields created through Crystallize by __%

"Wow, this is too much to absorb at once," I said.

"The percentage of the Artifacts will only take effect or add up when you equipped yourself with a good artifact set. For now, the condition to activate the artifact has not met yet," Wansai explained to me.

Energy Recharge: (?)

Cool Down Reduction: (?)

I tapped the Question mark next to Energy recharge. It says:

-Energy Recharge means how much those elemental orbs and particles fill up your elemental burst meter. The more energy recharge you have, the quicker you get your elemental burst back and the more times you can get your Ultimate off during the battle

"I see but what are elemental particles and Orbs?"

Wansai sat down before me.

"Ah." He scratched his head. "You're probably not aware that half of Vur is an elemental side which is called Elixia Vur. Elixia has seven elements. They are the Hydro, Pyro,Anemo, Cryo, Geo, Denro and Electro. Each nation has their own elemental representation and is led by a "Ruler". It was said that Vur was blessed by the Older Gods by giving it their power and was absorbed by the planet's Ley Lines after the War of Gods," Wansai explained.

He catches his breath for a brief moment and begins to talk again.

"On the other side of Vur lies the Baxia Vur. That place is Blessed by the New Generation Gods and it's known as High Primordials. Majority of occupants there don't use elemental magic but instead they rely on their Skill and Incantation Spell which is powered by their mana. And since we're in Elexia, element magic is abundant here. Opponents, bosses and even a mere slime here were all powered by Elemental Magic. And that's my friend, elemental particles and orb will take place. They literally came from them, the elemental creatures. They drop elemental particles and orbs when they lose HP. When you pick them, it will regenerate energy but it will only work if you pick them up and not generate them. Although you can have your own ER by equipping artifacts and weapons, it is recommended to reach a required 200 percent Energy Recharge to spam an Elemental Talent. If you did not reach that recommended percentage, you have to rely on a battery like the elemental creatures to recharge."

"Wow. That's reallly a looot to take," I said.

"It is. If you want to survive, you must keep everything I said in your mind."

Next, I check about the Cool Down Reduction and the explanation follows:

-CD Reduction decreases the Cool Down of your elemental Skill and Elemental burst. The higher the value of this number, the shorter the CD.

"So what is cool down?"

"That's basic, Reddy. It is the 'rest' time or moment of your Ultimates."

"I see, I see."

"When you face a creature such as a hydro slime, and you are using a hydro element, you will inflict no damage to the slime because it is immune. Even if you have 100% hydro damage, it means nothing. The best way to kill them is by using physical attacks like using some weapons or even your body sometimes Artifacts grant Physical Damage. But it'll be a different story when you face another elemental type of slime such as pyro slime and many more. And when it comes to Elemental resistance, all monsters in Vur are resistant to element due to the fact that ley line anomaly made them like that, evolving them into what they are now. When you say a monster is "weak" to some elemental magic, it means their resistance is less. You can check each monster's information once you unlock the Identify."

The last one is Artifacts category is:

-Set Bonus Artifacts: (Incomplete)

The last one in my Status is Physical Talent

Physical Talent: Not Accessible.

Note: Meet the condition to activate.

"Now that you know about the basics, should you start the quest now," Wansai says as he stands up.

We start to walk when suddenly a level hydro slime appears before us.

"Kill it," Wansai says. "You must keep your eyes on the hp bar located above them. It'll show after you attack."

I nod and unsheath my rusty blade. I charge towards the unsuspecting slime and parry it.

Its hp bar appears above it and I continue attacking it with my blade until its Hp drop and dies.

"Great!" Wansai says. "Now let's proceed to the quest."

Wansai and I kept walking until we saw a glowing red thing. It's like a large candle holder.

"That is Teleport Waypoint. It is a device that is used to teleport people from different places. Touch it so it will activate."

-

You have successfully activated a teleport waypoint!

Tutorial:

-How to use Teleport Waypoint:

1.Open the World Map.

2. Select an unlocked Teleport Waypoint to teleport to that location.

"Come on. What are you waiting for?" Wansai shouts ahead of me.

"Alright, I'm coming!" I shout back and walk towards her. As soon as I reach where he stood, I see a wall behind him. "There's no way we can proceed with that wall of stone hindering us."

"Oh, about that, we need to climb over it."

"So, how am I supposed to do that? I don't have any climbing gears with me." I said.

"Don't worry. You don't need those. Just climb without thinking about anything."

"Easy said and done, huh?"

Wansai smiled sheepishly at me.

"Just trust me."

I position my hands on the rough surface of the wall stone and pull my body. I felt like I could grip to the rough walls part. I was able to pull myself as if I was actually climbing with climbing gears.

"Remember, climbing depletes stamina. And when you have depleted stamina, you need to rest sometime to recover."

"I got that!" I shouted at him when I finally made it to the top. Wansai effortly flies using his wings.

We rest for a bit and continue our journey. When we are about to reach the falls, a sound of chime echoes in my head and a screen popped before me.
