The Titan's Wrath

The air grew thick with tension as the Titan Goliath emerged from the dense forest, its towering form blocking out what little light remained. Gershion froze in place, heart hammering in his chest. This was no ordinary monster—it was one of the most feared creatures in the Genesis portal, a monster so powerful that even seasoned angelic teams avoided it. And yet, the Goliath seemed to disregard him completely. Its focus was entirely on the small, injured dragon by the riverbank.

Gershion watched, baffled. Why isn’t it attacking me?

It was then that he noticed the Goliath’s condition. Its enormous body was riddled with gashes, blood oozing from several wounds that cut deep into its flesh. But more striking than its injuries was the source of them—the little dragon.

The young dragon stood its ground, its eyes fierce despite its weakened state. Without warning, it opened its mouth and spat a glob of purple Falmer, a corrosive liquid that ignited on impact. The burning substance hit the Titan’s arm, scorching the flesh with a sizzling sound. The massive beast let out a guttural shriek, its voice echoing through the forest like a thunderclap.

This little thing did that? Gershion thought, stunned by the dragon’s strength. Despite its small size, the divine beast was proving more than capable of injuring the Titan Goliath, something Gershion never thought possible.

As he stood there, he heard the familiar chime of a notification in his mind:

Evolution: 50% Complete

Gershion blinked, surprised. His evolution was progressing rapidly, but he didn't have time to contemplate it. The dragon, still weak but determined, turned its golden eyes toward him, almost as if pleading. It was asking for his help.

Gershion hesitated for only a moment before drawing his dagger. If this dragon can fight, so can I.

He stepped forward, his body tense but ready. The Titan hadn’t noticed him yet, still focused on the dragon. But that would change soon. He took a deep breath and launched himself forward, aiming for the creature’s leg.

The Titan noticed the sudden movement and swung its massive arm down, narrowly missing Gershion as he rolled to the side. His dagger found purchase in the beast’s leg, slicing through the flesh. The Goliath roared in fury, turning to face him now.

The real battle had begun.

---

The forest floor shook beneath their feet as the Titan and Gershion clashed. The Titan’s movements were slow but devastating—each swing of its arm created shockwaves that rattled the trees and sent dirt flying into the air. Gershion, despite his best efforts, was being pushed to his limits. His body was fast, his reflexes sharp, but each attack from the Titan left him narrowly dodging what could have been fatal blows.

The dragon continued its assault, spitting purple Falmer in precise bursts that burned through the Titan’s thick hide. The creature shrieked in agony but refused to back down.

Gershion darted in and out of the Titan’s reach, slicing at its legs and arms, hoping to slow it down. But each strike, though effective, seemed to barely dent the creature’s immense power. Sweat dripped down his face as he felt the strain of the fight. He was getting tired—his wounds were small but accumulating, and every movement became just a bit slower.

Despite this, he felt something stirring within him. A newfound strength, bubbling up from deep inside. He was fighting a creature that even entire teams of angels avoided, and yet he was holding his own. His essence had increased significantly, almost as though the fight was drawing power from within him that he hadn’t known existed.

And then it hit him—his essence was no longer that of a low-ranking celestial. It had grown, surged, to levels near an archangel’s. His heart raced as the realization dawned on him. How was this possible?

Evolution 75% Complete...Essence nearing Archangel level

The system's notification blinked in front of his eyes, confirming what he already felt. His power was rising—far beyond what he had ever thought possible. With every strike, every dodge, he felt himself becoming more attuned to the battle, more in sync with the rhythm of combat.

But the Titan wasn’t done. Realizing it was being overwhelmed, the massive beast focused all its efforts on Gershion. It roared, its fist crashing down like a falling boulder aimed straight at him. But something had changed.

Gershion moved with an almost unnatural grace. He sidestepped the blow easily, his body reacting faster than his mind could keep up. He struck the Titan again, this time with more force, his dagger slicing deeper into its flesh. The Titan staggered, its once intimidating presence now faltering in the face of Gershion’s newfound strength.

Evolution 100% Complete.

The message flashed in his vision just as he delivered another blow to the Titan’s leg. A surge of power rushed through him, filling him with an overwhelming sense of euphoria. His body felt lighter, his mind sharper, and his senses heightened to an almost unbearable degree. He quickly pulled up his status screen, eyes widening as he took in the changes:

Title: Archangel Sub-Category: Monster Slayer

HP: 200/200

Strength: 5/20

Agility: 5/20

Speed: 0/20

Intelligence: 5/20

Sense: 5/20

His stats had exploded beyond what he had imagined, reaching levels only archangels and divine beings could achieve. Gershion let out a breath of exhilaration. The Titan, once a towering, terrifying figure, now seemed almost pitiful by comparison.

The Goliath, sensing the shift, tried to retreat. It turned, lumbering away into the trees, but the little dragon blocked its path. The small, injured creature stood firm, roaring defiantly despite its wounds. It was pleading with Gershion now, urging him to finish the battle.

Gershion didn’t hesitate. His body moved faster than before, each step light, as if he were flying. He dodged the Titan’s final desperate attacks with ease, his movements so fluid that the creature seemed to be moving in slow motion.

He struck, his dagger slicing cleanly through the Titan’s neck. For a moment, the world seemed to stop as the creature froze, then collapsed with a thunderous crash. The forest went silent.

Gershion stood over the corpse, panting but victorious. A notification appeared before him:

Store Unlocked. Valuable Titan Parts Acquired: Core, Bones, Skin, Essence..

He knelt and began gathering the Titan’s valuable parts, his eyes drawn to its core, a pulsing, glowing orb of raw power. As he held it in his hand, he felt the little dragon’s gaze on him.

The dragon looked at him with such familiarity, as if it had always known him. It glanced at the core, then back at him, its golden eyes pleading once more.

Gershion hesitated for a moment, then handed the core to the dragon. Without a second thought, the small beast swallowed it whole. Almost immediately, its body began to change. A cocoon of shimmering light enveloped the dragon, pulsing softly as it entered a state of metamorphosis.

Gershion watched, astonished. The dragon was evolving.

Setting up camp near the cocoon, he watched over it, knowing the next few hours would be critical. But as the night deepened, a strange unease crept into his heart. The Genesis portal felt... different. He could sense the portal reacting to his transformation, as though it was no longer a place meant for him.

He knew he couldn’t remain here much longer. Once he stepped out, he would never be able to return to Genesis. His power had grown too much. But there was one last thing he needed to do.

His gaze shifted toward the core of the forest, where the real dangers lay.

Tomorrow,he thought, I’ll venture into the core and hunt demons. It’s the only way to grow stronger.

With that, he settled in for the night, his mind racing with anticipation of the battles to come.
