Will took Elsa’s hand as the crossed the threshold of the house, a empty interior welcoming them with aged silence.
“Here we are,” he announced theatrically, turning with an excited grin.
“Where’s here?” Elsa asked, a questioning smirk resting on her cherry lips.
He grinned even wider, a playful look entering his eye.
“Guess.”
Elsa rolled her eyes, far to used to his antics to play along, “Just tell me.”
Will didn’t that stop him, egging her on with a gentle poke, “Come on, guess.”
“An empty house,” Elsa answered sarcastically.
Will shook his head, “Nope, try again.”
“A run-down crack den.”
“Come on; it ain’t that bad,” Will said with a laugh, tapping his foot against the floorboards, “Which crack den you know have oak paneling?”
Elsa sighed, “I don’t know; just tell me.”
“Come on, guess.”
Stolen story; please report.
Elsa frowned, her thinning patience no “Just tell me already. You wake me up at 6 in the goddamn morning and drive me out into the middle of fucking nowhere and now we’re in this shit-hole-”
“Our shit-hole,” Will interrupted with an expectant smirk.
Elsa froze, confusion entering her eyes, “What?”
“I said it was our shit-hole,” Will said as he pulled her into him, wrapping his arms around her waist and looking into her eyes. “The deal went through last week and I just got the deed yesterday. Welcome to Chateau James.”
Elsa’s face filled with shock, saying in a daze, “But what about my parents’ place in Jacksonville? I thought we were going to move there after you finished your residency.”
“That’s their place; this is our place. Only ours.” Will let go of Elsa, backing up in a spin as he looked over their new home. “I know it ain’t perfect but it’s got good bones and a lot of room. We can fix it up, probably need a lot more furniture than we got but still. It’ll be a real home, one of our own, just for the two of us,” Will turned back to the stunned Elsa with a warm smile, watching her eyes surveyed the house with a subtle gleam, “Maybe three? Or four? Maybe even five if you’re up to-” Will heard her squeal before Elsa jumped into his arms, giggling gleefully as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He grinned back at her, his hands pulling her into a caring hug, “So what do you think?”
Elsa beamed back, “I love it. I fucking love it. I can’t believe you did this. I love you.”
“Love you too, babe, ‘specially that sailor mouth of your.”
Elsa gave him an playful eye-roll before moving in for a kiss, taking his breath away with a passion that spoke volumes. She eventually pulled away, her burning gaze setting Will’s blood on fire.
“Could a sailor mouth kiss like that?” she asked with a proud smirk, knowing full well what she was doing to him.
“I certainly hope not. Might just join the navy otherwise.”
Elsa let out a bell-like laugh, filling the house with a joy that promised even happier futures, before Will kissed her again, not willing to risk this perfect moment at the hands of the future, preferring his own hands instead.
