CHAPTER 2: The Tower System

CHAPTER 2: The Tower System

Henley rubbed his forehead as he tried to comprehend what was happening to him on this day.

First, his Awakening Ceremony had failed, and then a transparent blue screen appeared in front of him, visible only to him, called the Tower System.

And now, the Tower System was telling him that he had the ability to edit the mechanics or rules of a tower according to his preferences using the system?!

[SYSTEM NOTICE

Yes.

Once the Host enters the Tower, the Host is immediately given the ability to change the rules of that tower according to their desires.

However, with this ability, the Host cannot receive any chests or rewards from any tower.]

"Then how am I supposed to level up if I can't receive rewards from the tower?" Henley asked the system.

Henley didn't know whether this system was a blessing or a curse, but one thing was certain—he was the only one who possessed this system.

[SYSTEM NOTICE

The system will reward the Host.

The Host's reward from the system depends on the rate set by the players for the tower after the rules of the tower are changed.

If the players' rate is higher, the Host has a higher chance of obtaining better rewards.]

The players referred to by the system were none other than the various creatures from different planets who enter the tower, including humans from the world of Fucarias.

"I understand." Henley said.

You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.

So it's based on the rate.

Henley remembered what his teacher had told them before, that after the players exited the tower, they needed to rate the tower they had entered based on its difficulty for them.

So, it meant that all Henley needed to do was change the rules on the tower floors and make them even more challenging in order to obtain better rewards.

Henley was brought back to reality as the clinic door suddenly swung open, revealing the principal and four unfamiliar individuals.

"How are you feeling, Henley?" the principal asked with his eyes sparkling.

Henley immediately understood what was happening.

He knew that in this world, those with rare classes were more respected compared to those with common classes.

"Hello, are you Henley? I'm Kanji from the Blue Raven Guild, and I would like to invite you to join our guild. I assure you that the Guild will protect you in any situation if you join us!" said a man of half Japanese descent, appearing to be in his early 30s.

"Huh? Just protection? That's weak!" said of a woman with red hair and red eyes, who seemed to be in her mid-20s.

Henley looked at the woman and admitted to himself that this woman was beautiful, and her barbaric demeanor only added to her allure.

"I'm Scarlet from the Triade Organization, and I'll do my best to make you join our Organization whether you like it or not because we need someone with a class like yours." the woman continued with a long speech.

"Compared to what you're saying, nothing can surpass the Heavenly Sect that I belong to." boasted a man wearing glasses.

"Heavenly Sect? You still exist? The last news I heard about your sect was that you moved to the mountains after angering a dragon." Scarlet said, trying to hold back her laughter.

The man in glasses suddenly exuded a dark aura after hearing what Scarlet said and quickly released a seal. "No one has the ability to insult the Heavenly Sect, so be prepared to face your death, old woman!" he shouted.

"I'm Roan from the Ninja Academy, and we only recruit those with assassin classes, so I expect you to join us." introduced another woman, almost completely covered in black attire, including half of her face.

Henley didn't know what to do because before him stood four respected and formidable individuals competing for him.

"What a complicated situation." Henley whispered to himself as he observed the four vying for him.

Kanji, the representative of the Blue Raven Guild, gave him an intense look, ready to provide protection and support.

Scarlet, from the Triade Organization, displayed determination and a barbaric look.

The unnamed man with glasses, from the Heavenly Sect, exuded pride in their history and power.

Roan, from the Ninja Academy, emanated mystery and darkness that enticed her soul.

These offers were not easy for Henley to choose from. Each one presented benefits and opportunities that could bring about significant changes in his life.

However, amidst the competition and clamor of the contenders, there was another thing enveloping Henley's mind - his own objective to help the orphanage.

Taking a deep breath, Henley finally spoke up.

"I appreciate all of your offers, and I recognize the strength and value each of your organization, sect, academy and guild brings. However I need to think carefully about where I will join, so I apologize." Henley said.

However, deep within his thoughts, Henley had no intention of joining any of them.

Why would he join when he could create his own organization or guild?

Henley knew that he possessed the ability not just an assassin because he also has the Tower System.

The four fell silent upon hearing Henley's words, realizing that they might have been mistaken in pressuring the young man to join their respective groups.

[SYSTEM NOTICE
