Chapter 1: A Tower

Chapter 1: A Tower

A Tower stands in the plains filled with grassfields.

All looks so green and beautiful to the eye but do not let it deceive you.

All that looks to be kind can truly horrify the eye.

Marking the cold soft mud, horses walked upon it. Surrounded by tall trees the horses stepped in unison out of the forest.

It was a group consisting of four men. Clad in metal armor, fur capes for winter and swords. They had been ready for everything and anything ever since they left home. “Do you see the tower sir Nicholas?” asked Kane.

Nicholas instinctively and hardly looked as far as he could manage, seeing some form of structure tall.

“Is that the tower all the way over there? That tall dark structure. I'm sorry I can barely see it because of the fog, sir.” answered Nicholas. He pointed his finger straight beyond the green field. There stood hills in the way of their view. Kane peered over at Nicholas after he himself had to take a peak.

“Yes you are indeed correct Nicholas. That is the tower.”

To the right of Kane, Martin had been searching in his leather satchel.

“For god's sake, Finally I found it.” said Martin.

He brought up a map of the lands in front of them, it looked very old and crooked. Martin steered his horse closer to Kane. Nicholas repeated the action.

“So where do we currently stand Martin?” asked Kane.

“We stand right here sir. Between the forest of Ballanor and the lands of Casanau. The field before our eyes currently is called Ripa, it's a place where great battles have taken place over the centuries but now it appears to have been forgotten.” answered Martin.

Kane squinted with his eyes over at the fading fog by the tower.

It appeared larger than any structure known to man. “Where on the map would you say the tower stands Martin?” said Kane. Martin had to think for a minute while his old eyes spun around the map's details.

“If I am right, and I should be, I have never been wrong, then it should stand to the North East not far from the great mountains of Casanau and close to the endings of the fields in front of us.” answered Martin.

Nicholas waited for his time to ask about a thought he'd had in his head for a long while. “Where do you think this Tower comes from?”
