The full moon illuminated the city and reflected off the water under the bridge. It was a chilly night, a temperature well below zero degrees, but there was a boy that laid on the grassy lawn with closed eyes.
Today was the anniversary of his mother's death.
Counting back, it has already been eight years. Eight years since he started high school, and eight years since his father stopped coming home.

“So the old man still knows he has a son” With a sigh, the boy slowly made his way up the hill and walked in the empty roads. The big apartment he arrived in front of was more than enough for a family of three, and even more for a single resident.
Seven beeps and a ka---, the door opened after the pin was entered. It was a minimalistic and clean apartment. The white-clothed couch with bird embroideries resided next to the window panel that made up the entire left wall. The entrance was like any other doorway entrance, a shoe rack, and a matt.
The footsteps on the wood floor creaked as the young man walked across to the fridge to get a glass of water. He took that water and left for a room with a big monitor display with high tech desktop specs. This was the room of a gamer. He sat down, put on his headset and booted up his computer. With a double click on the logo Final Identity, the loading screen popped up with computer animated characters.
Final Identity is a historical MMORPG centered around cultivators and flying weapons. Today was a new server launch, and as the most played game, everyone flooded the servers causing a delayed loading screen.
The young man typed in his username and password and hit the bolded enter button. The character transported to the new server and looking at the stats, this character was no newbie, he was an OP top rank player checking out the new launch.

An announcement was displayed on the screen-
Server Mission: Form group and defeat Cave of Sirens boss
“Hey Hey Kungpow! Join my team!” Messages were flooding into his inbox as he had a flashy suit of armor.
With a sigh, he clicked on the first invite and teleported to the team location.
“Oh man! We got a veteran on our team! Lucky~” said the shorter character “The portal is opening! Let’s get ready and head in”
Kungpowji with a nod followed the group into the portal.
This wasn’t a normal dungeon quest with a bunch of minions that came at you before the big boss came out. The boss was right there, a siren in the lagoon that was 10 times the size of regular characters, and there was a timer of 1:00 above its head.
Portals Closing in 0:59...0:58….0:57
The countdown began and everyone was alarmed. Kungpowji looked around, there wasn’t anyone impressive nor stood out other than him. He geared up and opened up the stats of his team members. Just as the timer reached 0:00, the boss began moving and attacking.
Everyone was a newbie.
They died left and right like little flies and dying meant a loss in items when they spawn in the spawning center in town. Kungpowji was pissed. He was so pissed he started cussing out at everyone and showing his nasty side. None the less, everyone had enough of his behavior and reported him.

The young man looked at his screen pop up in disbelief.
“No way in hell are they that immature… what the fuck” He slammed the desk knocking over his glass of water onto the floor and had a meltdown.
“I ONLY LOGGED IN TO SEE THE NEW SERVER! I CAN’T AFFORD TO LOSE MY RANKING NOW!!!!” His hard work… all gone in a flash just because a bunch of newbies decided to report him.
He stood up and decided to get some chips to cry on until his foot met with the wet ground from the spilled water.
THUMP
He slipped after tripping over his own feet and then blacked out.
When he came to, he opened his eyes only to find that he was staring at a gray ceiling; very different from his white apartment ceiling. His whole body ached when he sat up, but that didn’t stop him from observing the hay-like texture underneath him and the cold atmosphere.
Just as he faced the opposite side, his whole body froze and his eyes widened in confused panic.
“Why the fuck am I in a jail cell”
