HOSPITAL A WEEK LATER
Bakugo sat by the sleeping Ember waiting for her to wake up. Bakugo was hopeful that she might wake up because she had gone through a day without her heart completely stopping, though Ember was still having heart palpitations. Bakugo smoothed Ember's hair back soothingly. Ember shifted slightly in her sleep and gave a small sigh. "Baby?" Bakugo asked.
"Mhm...K-k-Kacchan." Ember whisperd.
"Oh my god. Ember!" Bakugo felt tears start dripping down his face.
Ember opened her eyes and brushed a tear off of Bakugo's face. "W-why are y-you crying?" Ember asked her voice soft.
"Because you were on death's door for a while. You... your heart... it kept stopping." Bakugo looked at her. "I'm just so happy that you are awake."
Ember nodded. "Well, I need to call Aizawa and let him know that you're awake. I am going to step out of a couple of minutes." Ember got a panicked look in her eyes shook her head.
"N-no... d-don't l-leave me.... p-p-please." Ember spoke in a soft panicked tone.
"Okay I won't. I'll sit here and call him. Sound good?" Bakugo gave a small reassuring smile and Ember nodded.
Bakugo dialed Aizawa. "Hey Aizawa, are you available to talk?" Bakugo asked standing up and walking away from Ember.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"Yes. What is it Bakugo?" Aizawa asked sounding slightly worried.
"Ember's awake!" Bakugo said excitedly.
"That's excellent. I'll come over with Class 1-A in about two hours. Is that okay?"
Bakugo looked at Ember. "Ember is it okay if Aizawa and the rest of our class comes over to see you in two hours?" Ember gave a noncomital jerk of the head. "I think it's okay. See you then."
"See you then." Aizawa said.
Bakugo then hung up and looked at Ember. "I'm so glad that you're awake Ember."
Ember looked up in terror as the door opened and a doctor walked in. "You're awake, this is very good. So, we have some good news and bad news. Which news would you like to hear first?" The doctor asked.
Ember looked at Bakugo with wide eyes. They flashed lilac and in Bakugo's head he heard, "I want the bad news first."
Bakugo looked at Ember with shock but Ember gave a very small shake of her head. "Let's do the bad news first." Bakugo said.
"Okay. the first piece of bad news is that your disease is on Stage 4, it progressed from the severity of the torture you went through." Ember looked at Bakugo with a scared look. "The second piece of bad news is that you have some pretty severe damage in your spinal-cord, and you need to wear a special brace. The third and final piece of bad news is that something is wrong with your right arm, and you might have to get it amputated. I'm really sorry." Ember took a deep shuddering breath as she felt tears threaten to fall down her face.
"What's the good news?" Bakugo asked hopefully.
"The good news is that we can probably give you a nerve transfer for your back. I'll give you two some time to comprehend." The doctor then walked out of the room.
Ember was giving a deadpan stare off into the distance. "Ember, I'm so sorry." Bakugo said grabbing one of Ember's hand.
Ember sniffled. "I-it's fine... I-I guess I kn-knew that this would h-happen eventually." Ember whispered. "B-but at le-least I don't h-have to d-do this a-alone." Ember gave a watery smile.
