Prologue: The Red Eyed Man

Prologue: The Red Eyed Man

----------------------------------------

Blood poured from the mans wounds onto the cold stone floor below. He was dying and was far beyond help. With a loud cough he spat out the blood that had began to clog in his throat. He fought to die with at least some dignity. Crawling he came upon a wall which he sat against. Looking back over the courtyard ahead of him all he could see was dozens of mercenary's, like himself, dead. With shaking hands he loads a single bolt into the crossbow at his side.

Among the bodies was a single figure with bright red eyes and face half hidden by a white mask with a gray cloak hanging along his sides. This was the one responsible for the killing of over thirty armed men. Not even a scratched managed to touch his armor, no wounds and not the slightest hint of exhaustion was shown.

With the masked man looking up at him he lets out a sigh, knowing his time was nearing. With little effort the masked man begins to close the distance between them.

The group had thought him to be just a single traveler, a merchant of some type. But the moment he was within arms length all hell broke loose. With the flash of steel the masked man began to cut down man after man leaving none alive, no one could match his skill and with not a single man offering a challenge they could do nothing but die at the end of the mans blade.

"Die monster!" The dying man yells in desperation

From his left hand the man fires the crossbow at the masked man who with a motion faster then the eye could see knocks

the bolt aside with his hand.

"Please..Let me live!"The dying man says as he throws the crossbow to his side

With his red eyes piercing the mans eyes he stopped at the mans feet.

"Funny, my tribe said the same" The masked man said with a smirk

Pulling his blade from its scabbard the masked man stabs into the mans chest, piercing his heart and ending his life. After cleaning his swords blade on the dead mans shirt he returned his sword to its scabbard, turning around he walked to top of the wall and looked over a thick grassland. With a flash of green light in the sunset the man grinned.

The "heroes" have been summoned.
