Three months have passed since I came into this realm. With it, my physical strength has slightly improved, along with the intelligence I gained from my first three classes; however, what has improved the most is my alchemy knowledge and skills.
Using Tetsu's gloves, I'm able to use alchemy-related skills. I think the gloves work because of the type of crystal it uses and how it's programmed. I'm unable to use regular magic spells with it, so that must be the case. Anyhow, my alchemy skill and the skills related to alchemy are all level 13. This means that I'm now able to create a source for myself.
By the way, once I reached level 10, Tetsu gave me his blessing. With it, doing tasks that require alchemy sped up by a lot. Also, my other skills that are related to alchemy leveled up faster than normal, allowing me to reach level 13 quickly.
Currently, I'm on my way to Testu's place to inform him that I have reached the required level to obtain a source. After walking to his house, I immediately walk in. I know this isn't polite, especially for learning proper etiquette, but he gave me special permission to do so. Once inside, I call out to him.
"Sir Tetsu, are you here?"
"Hmm? Oh, welcome back, Yemon. What is it?"
"Nothing much. I just came for the next steps on gaining a source."
Tetsu's eyes widen.
"Does that mean you are level 13 in alchemy and its related skills?!"
"Yes."
"Amazing... I never thought you would be able to get this high within three months. No, the real amazing part is reaching level 10 within only two months and then reaching 13 in only one month. Anyhow, let's begin creating a source for you. Follow me."
I nod while following behind him. We walk into a room with a large desk with many items on it. He stops in front of it and turns to me.
"Alright, before we begin, there is another slight problem. Those gloves I gave you won't create a source due to the lack of mana those crystals hold. For this reason, I'll be creating a source and will insert it into you. I'll also put enough mana into it that you should be able to create one."
"So I'll be watching you while you create one and then create one myself afterward, right?"
"You are correct! Now then, let's begin!"
I watch Tetsu as he prepares the creation of the source. He firsts create an item using various chemicals and elements and then imbues it with mana. Next, he transmutes it into a form that isn't visible, a form similar to plasma. Lastly, he transfers it into my body while removing my old source. With my old source, he begins tinkering with it and puts it back into my body.
"Alright, I'm finished. I adjusted your old source so that it would combine into your new source. When you make your new source, you'll also have to adjust it to match the source you create. I'll help you through it if you get into trouble. Ready to start?"
"Yes!"
I watched closely, so I should be alright. Nothing feels different so far, but I trust Tetsu. Anyhow, I begin my preparations to create my own source. I move towards the table, taking Tetsu's spot, but before I could begin, he stops me.
"Oh, I forgot. You're going to need mana. Hold on one second."
He places his hand on my hand and chants a spell. "Mana Transfer."
Afterward, he removes his hand and tells me to begin. With his spell over with, I can now say that I can feel the difference. Well, to be more precise, I felt something entering my body, but I can't exactly describe what it was. Anyhow, I resume my preparations...
Doing the same steps as Tetsu, I prepare my source using the one he created for me and the mana he gave me. I continue copying his steps in making the source. After about twenty minutes, I finally finish creating my source along with updating my source. I also had the idea to combine them, so I did. Then I remove my current source while quickly switching my new source. If I messed up the time, I could die... Thankfully, that didn't happen.
"Whew! I finally did it. I have a source and now able to use magic!"
"Congratulations! You should be able to create those artificial abilities, too, once you improve your mana supply and level up alchemy a little more. Your source is still a newborn, so you're going to have to train it. Anyway, you have passed my class. You should be good on your own now."
"Thanks again, Tetsu!"
"No problem, lad. If you have any more questions or need help, come by and see me. I'll always accept you into my house."
I smile and give my last thanks. Afterward, I walk back over to my house and begin the cycle over again.
And just like that, years pass by.
----------------------------------------
Knock, Knock.
"Hmm? You may come in."
"Excuse us. Master, it's about time for your lesson with Akria to begin." (K)
"Is it now? Thanks. I guess I was too concentrated on meditation. I'll head there now. Oh, on my next break, can you two prepare some food for me. I somewhat missed the sweet taste of food."
"Understood, just leave it to us." (E)
"Alright, we'll take our leave." (K)
Both of my maids bow and take their leave. I'm currently in the classroom for my magic training. I'm also on the ground doing my usual mediation. Meditating helps improve mana regen and increases one's mana pool. Over the years, I constantly meditate in hopes of improving my magical abilities. Thinking about it, it has been fifty years since I gain my own source...
After getting it, I switch back to magic lessons. At first, I used the entire time to meditate. After a couple of years of meditating, my mana pool and regen ability were at the level to be used professionally. Still, I continue meditating to improve it more, though the amount it used to increase has been slower as the years' progress.
"Alright, time to greet Akria."
I leave the classroom and head next door to the classroom where my first lessons begin. Akria is already inside, waiting for me.
"Ah, about time."
"What do you mean? I still have a minute left, don't I?"
"Yeah, but the faster, the better. Well, let's use this time to chat, shall we? I wanted to tell you this for a long time, but you have been the best student I have ever had. We have been together for years, but out of all of the students I had, you have been the more proactive and studious. You are even better than my pupil, Kevin!"
"Haha... Thanks."
"Yeah, yeah. Don't let it go to your head. Alright, let's start the lesson."
"Yes!"
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
We both smile at each other as Akria starts the lesson. Throughout these fifty years, Akria's lessons have been the most fun and worthwhile. I have learned many things. To describe it, it's like going through college and getting a master's in all of the subjects offered and then some.
Most of the things she taught were turned into skills, which allows me never to forget any of them. To keep my skill list organized, it seems that they all combine into new skills. For information that you would find as a major in college, like mathematics or sciences, those skills combined into the skill Core-Subject. Information that you wouldn't find as a major in college is combined into a skill called Extra-Subject. It seems the level for these skills increases based on the amount of information I learn.
Moving on to Kevin's class, I have gained lots of information about different worlds and what they contain. For instance, most worlds with magic have what are known as adventures that hunt monsters. Different worlds have different adventuring guidelines, but the most common guideline uses a ranking system from G to EX, where G is the lowest and EX is the highest.
There are 10 ranks: G, F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, EX. As the ranks increase, the number of people within that rank decreases. Most worlds only have about one or two people within the EX rank. There are other ranks like Saint and Hero for the worlds with pre-heroes, which are heroes who haven't been in the divine realm but were chosen by the world. Most worlds don't have pre-heroes, though...
There's also a ranking for monsters, which is the same as the adventurer's ranking. That said, the rankings for monsters are a tad more difficult. Adventurers can only win against a monster if that monster's rank is lower than the adventurer. For example, a B-rank monster can only fight and win against G to C rank monsters. There need to be at least five B-ranked adventurers together to defeat a B-ranked monster. The number of adventurers needed increases as the monster's rank increases.
Another set of monsters that don't belong with the regular monster ranks known as the Destructive monsters. Most worlds don't have these monsters as they are scarce, only showing up when miasma is extremely condensed. They are ranked from EX-1 to EX-5, also known as Annihilators to World destroyers. In total, there are four of these ranks: Annihilators, Logic-breakers, Hell-bringers, and World-destroyers.
Worlds that have these monsters typically require the need of a hero that has trained with the Gods. Pre-heroes might have a chance depending on the type of destructive monster.
Demon Lords are not among these lists, but the Gods have made their own ranking based on watching various worlds. In total, there are five tiers going from 1 to 5. As the tier increases, the smarter and deadlier the Demon Lord is. Tier 3 to 5 Demon Lords require the need of a hero that has trained with the Gods.
There can be multiple Demon Lords, too, but this is extremely rare. The subordinates of the Demon Lords are mostly made up of Demon-kin, meaning that they follow the same system as other races and are a lot stronger than monsters (since they have intelligence).
There can also be Evil Gods, but they are also rare. They don't have a ranking, but hearing God pretty much tells you how strong and deadly they are.
Anyway, after learning about all of this, Kevin then tells me all the types of monsters out there and all of their information. There billions of monsters out there, so memorizing all of them can be hard. Sadly, I have to do it. Currently, we are at the 10,000,000th monster...
Moving on again, Allie's lessons have been increasingly getting better. After mastering the art of Nobility and etiquette, she has been teaching me about merchants and economics.
Ryuma's lessons continue to be as harsh as ever. After managing to get 300 situps a minute, he started ordering me to do all sorts of exercises, like sprints, pushups, burpees, etc. We have even moved to the 2nd floor, unitizing all of the equipment that is inside. After doing all of these in what seems to be impossible world records, we moved on to swordsmanship training. He is the Sword God, after all...
We would do a quick exercise for an hour and then get straight into combat training. There exist skills known as Arts, which are mainly for weapons. That said, Ryuma has denied me from using them until I reach level 10 of swordsmanship, which I have. Now he has been teaching me all 10 arts for the sword. This is way more fun than doing those ridiculous exercises that I had to do when I came into this realm.
Lastly, my magical training has been doing great. After getting my source, my mana capacity and regen ability have grown tremulously, as I stated before. I got this far by meditation which is a type of training. By meditating, I can expand my source, which is basically my container that holds my mana. The source also works by creating mana by collecting the World's mana floating around the entire world.
The world's mana is always generated, so there isn't any worry of it going dry. The source takes in the world's mana and then converts it into mana that is accessible to me. That's where mana-regen comes in. Mana regen is the speed at which the source collects the world's mana.
At my level, I can extend my source 2 kilometers out of my body in all directions or can layer my source 200 times. By having my source out of my body, my mana regen ability skyrockets up; however, those who can see mana can see me easier. Also, depending on how much mana I have, those within the range of my source can feel my mana. Since my mana is condensed, it would most likely hurt that individual, similar to what intimidation would do but deadlier.
On the other hand, although the mana regen ability isn't as high, I can hide my mana presence, making it harder to detect me. That said, by stacking my source inside me, I'm able to increase my mana-regen. It is still less than extending it outside my body...
Speaking about my current mana ability, last year is when I reached this point. Afterward, I started creating various artificial body parts and organs. I also got my alchemist skills to level 20.
Although I could have improved my body the way I wanted to, I discovered that level 20 has special effects or immense knowledge and power. For Alchemy, I gain the formula of creating the perfect body. It required a lot of elements, materials, chemicals, and mana. That said, I was so curious that I had to make it. I'm glad I did...
With the creation of the perfect body, all of my blood converted into pure mana. My brain was infused with mana and merged with my source, doubling my mana abilities. My skin mixed with mana, too, creating a thin barrier for me. All of my organs and muscles also got imbued with mana. With it, my physical and magical ability skyrocketed. Now, I'm able to do 750 situps in a minute.
Due to my improved body, I obtain immunity to everything but damage. I can't get any diseases, nor take any debuffs (poison or weakness). I also obtain immunity from food, water, and sleep. Though, the real reason is that my mana converts to food and gives me thirst. My new body also gives me immortality as my body doesn't decay with special regeneration abilities. With my improved brain, I also no longer need sleep. It truly is the perfect body...
Also, with the creation of this new body, I gained some special effects that were what I originally planned to make with alchemy but a better version of them. Mostly, I got an upgraded version of the God's eyes and Mana Eyes that I wanted to make. Instead of them, I have some called Eyes X and Y.
Although it doesn't sound correct, their true names are Eyes of Mentality and Pure Mana Eyes. I'm not sure why they are labeled as X and Y, but they are...
Now, normally, you can't have both of these eyes. The only reason I can is that I only have one eye of each. My left eye is Eye X, and my right eye is Eye Y.
Anyway, with my Eye X, or Eyes of Mentality, my knowledge of everything around me has extended. It appears my eye gained the ability that is similar to Analysis which is a skill that allows you to analyze your surrounding to gain info about them. With my eye, I can scan any object I look at and instantly get information about them. This includes their status if they have one and special bars that objects that don't have statuses have, like a lifespan bar.
With my Eye Y or Pure Mana Eyes, my magical abilities improves along with my mana abilities. Also, I'm able to see and sense mana within the air. Those who are hiding their source within themselves can no longer hide from me.
Anyway, that's about all that has happened thus far. Slowly, I'm getting stronger. The biggest thing is getting this new body. With it, I'm able to stay in this realm for my entire time.
