The Strongest Hero

I see camera flashes.

A papparazi came up with a mic and said "Sir, what do you have to say about the death of Mythos in the hands of the Ravager?"

It doesn't matter

"What does Mythos's death mean for the world of supers? Can the heroes still protect us?"

I don't know anymore

"Of course, as the strongest one I will make sure that Myhtos's sacrifice does not go in vain"

"Spectra sir, do you think you can still protect us, even against the Titans and other S-class threats without Mythos?

I don't know, when I was young I could defeat 10000 villains at once, but now? I don't know.

"I can and I will, it is my duty as the strongest"

"Do you think you can still be the strongest compared to the new S class threats like Mythos's killer, The Ravager or new rising villains such as the 7 sins lead by Emperor or the Pharoah?

Can I? I've grown weaker and weaker, while the villains have only gotten stronger and more plentiful. I... I don't know.

"Why do you look so stressed David?"

I look up, I see I'm at the beach with Chris sitting next to me.

"Just a lot on my mind you know. These days things have gotten really stressful"

Chris responds "I can see why, considering you killed me"

I could only mutter "what?", and before I'm standing in front of a grave, carrying flowers, in front of me there is a grave, and written on it "Here lies Mythos, the world will never be the same without you."

The world warped once more, I saw a little blonde girl, holding a hero action figure. she resembles him so much. 

"Why did you do it. Why did you let him die. Why did you kill him."

I could only stay silent

"nothing? The strongest hero, what a joke"

I looked at her before she slowly dissapears.

I'm in the sky, I see the Ravager and Mythos. I try to move as fast as possile, trying to find matter erasion, teleportation, time buble. The villain Red Sky shoots a red flames at me, I dodge and used matter erasion, killing her, but it was all too late. Mythos was already dead, the Ravagers arm through his chest. 

I hear Shockwave scream, flying straight at the Ravager, I try to stop her, but I was too late, in desperation, I use matter erasion on the ravager, nothing. The Ravager takes her eye. I find a telekenises power and pull her back.

She taunts me. "Is that it? The might of the strongest heroes, pitiful"

she's right, I am pitiful. The strongest joke out there.

The world changes once more.

I'm in a room, sitting in a wheelchair. I see a rope hanging. Maybe it's time, maybe I should end it.... I slowly grab the rope and tie it around my neck, ready to end it all before...

"Spectra sir"

I go down from the air and see a little girl with black hair.

"I'm sorry if this bothers you but I just want to say thank you for saving my friends from the villain that attacked last week. I would also really apreciate it if you also read this letter"

I take the letter from her hands and before I know it, I start crying. I stare at the letter for a few more seconds until

"David! Don't worry, mama is here."

She hugs me, and before I know it, I hug her back, crying.

"shh, don't worry, mama is always there for you. Why were you crying?"

"I-I was standing there an-and I asked to join them playing soccer, b-but th-then they said m-mean words to me a-and then I ran away"

"shh, mama knows that you're strong David, so please, be strong. Mama is always here for you"

"I hope you like the letter! I worked hard to make it."

I open the letter and I see me fighting a monster and saving people with a sentence saying "Thank you for saving my friends"

"Riley!" 

"Uncle Jack!" I heard the little girl I can only assume to be called Riley

I see a man still in his 20s hugging the little girl before coming up to me and saying "Oh godness sir Spectra, I hope she didn't bother you too much"

I respond, "quite the opposite sir, you have reaised quite the sweet little girl haven't you?" 

"I'm not her dad, but I try my best"

I hear my phone ring, a major villain attack, the Unstoppables have launched a massive attack in the West of Chicago

I start to cycle my power, looking for either fast flight ot teleportation

I hear the little girl say "Is this goodbye?"

I start lifting into the air before saying "Not forever, if you or any of your friends are ever in any danger again, remember that Spectra will always be there to save the day!"

I see the girl smile and waving as I launch into the air.

Maybe, just maybe, this was the right choice.
