Bruce still couldn’t believe what he learns about him being the descendant of a higher being.
Besides, even people on his world don’t even know who their ancestors are.
How could Bruce possibly know that?
“Is God Mha-el talking about Adam, the first human whom God created himself? That’s impossible.”
Bruce’s mind was puzzled about everything that he discovered.
He still can’t believe it after knowing it from a God itself.
But he’s been living in a different world with magic existing where a single jump can send him through the sky, so what’s impossible now?
He sat down by a nearby fountain so he could gather himself.
“Hey, what’s the matter, you’re sweating?” Arthur asked.
“Don’t you want to go inside?”
“No, you can go inside and give this to someone who knows Commander Kilos. Ask their names so I could talk to them later. I just need to rest here.”
Bruce said while he sits at the front of the fountain.
“Hey, you forgot I’m a prince, right?”
Arthur said while he’s looking at Bruce.
“I just really need to rest here for a while. Sorry. I’ll wait for you.” Bruce said.
“Is it because of the food?” Arthur asked.
“No, not the food. It’s delicious. I brought some here.” Bruce said and he opened his bag.
Arthur laughed and said, “Really? You just did not. Okay, wait for me here.”
‘A prince running an errand for a commoner. That’s seems normal. I think,’ Arthur murmuring to himself.
Bruce still can’t fathom everything.
But it’s better to know than be clueless.
Every question he asked is now answered.
He was thrown into this world as he can’t be reincarnated to Earth because he’s possessing this power that he didn’t know he had.
If that’s what happened, how could he possess his original body again?
That’s what Bruce is thinking right now.
“Don’t tell me they healed my body and brought it to the heavens and put my soul into it again.”
He was not wrong, but he’s not right either.
Bruce died in an accident and because of that his power was triggered.
Then Bruce’s soul went to heaven and he can’t be reincarnated.
If he can’t be reincarnated, his soul might be destroyed and unleashed his power throughout the heavens and damaging other people’s souls.
So the options are to put his body into another world where magic exists so they can heal his dead body and resurrect him to the world of Desolationa.
‘Lord Mha-el talked about Aura; is that why I’m strong?’ Bruce said to himself.
‘Yes, I think that’s the only answer to that.’
Arthur went back to Bruce after delivering the personal items of Commander Kilos.
“You’re back. I’m sorry if I made you run an errand for me. I just have something on my mind.”
“It’s fine; I also need to talk to the Bishop to invite him to the party the Queen set for the people who fought in the pearl village.”
“So, where did you give it?”
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
“To the Bishop himself. He’s the one who raised and trained Commander Kilos.”
“Did he ask anything?”
“He only asked, ‘Did he die with honor?’ I said, ‘With all his might.’”
Bruce got up and said, “Let’s go. I’ll treat you to something for thanks.”
“Can we grab some drinks?” Arthur asked.
“Sure, let’s get a beer.”
“‘Beer?’” Arthur said. “What’s that?”
“Don’t tell me you don’t have beer!”
They now set off for some nearby taverns.
As they walked, Bruce saw many people entering a huge house, some wearing armor and carrying weapons. One man had an armor unlike that of the kingdom’s soldiers. Others wore cloaks, and some had weapons that Bruce had never seen before. One had a staff.
Bruce asked, “Is it okay for them to have weapons inside the kingdom?”
“That’s the guild house. Every kingdom has a guild,” Arthur explained. “And those are adventurers. My sister, Selene, is also an adventurer.”
“So, what do they do?” Bruce inquired.
“Wait, you know I’ve noticed that there’s a lot you don’t know,” Arthur commented. “You don’t know about wyverns, temples, and now adventurers? Tell me, did you live under a rock before?”
Bruce just smiled and said, “Maybe?”
Arthur looked at him with wonder.
“Adventurers are the ones who take on missions given by the guild. If they’re successful on their mission, they’re rewarded.”
“So they’re like bounty hunters?” Bruce asked.
“No, bounty hunters target individuals. But adventurers fight monsters in dungeons.”
“Dungeons?” Bruce inquired, his curiosity piqued.
“You don’t even know what dungeons are,” Arthur observed, somewhat surprised.
“Dungeons can be found everywhere.
No one really knows where they come from, but they suddenly appear.
Many monsters infest these dungeons.
People from the past created associations to exterminate the monsters and formed guilds.
They hire people to fight the monsters inside these dungeons in exchange for gold or sometimes an items.
Initially, it was believed that once the boss monster in a dungeon was defeated, the dungeon would vanish.
However, that wasn’t the case.
The dungeon would just become empty, and somewhere else, a new dungeon would appear.
Now, many dungeons are emerging, and adventuring has become a way of life.”
“Is it dangerous?” Bruce asked again.
“Yes, it’s very dangerous.
It’s one of the kingdom’s problems because one of the hardest dungeons is near our kingdom.
If that dungeon is not defeated, the monsters will destroy it themselves and they will be unleashed upon the Stoneheart kingdom.
My father, the king, is currently traveling to another country to seek help in exterminating the monsters inside the dungeon.”
“Has this happened before?” Bruce wondered.
“Yes, and it was devastating.
The monsters that emerged from the dungeon began to absorb the mana around them.
They emitted a foul odor that we couldn’t identify, almost like an aura.”
Bruce heard about the monsters emitting a foul aura.
He instinctively checked himself, wondering if he also emitted such an odor due to his aura.
However, the idea of monsters emitting an aura lingered in Bruce’s mind, possibly connected to the reason he was thrown into this world.
He remembered what God Mha-el had told him about not being able to reincarnate in Earth, and an idea began to form.
Bruce wanted to visit one of the dungeons Arthur mentioned to see what this aura was all about.
Although he didn’t plan to put himself in danger, he simply wanted to learn more.
Arthur entered the guild house.
Bruce asked, “I thought we were going to be drinking?”
“Yes, this guild house also offers drinks like taverns. Adventurers love to drink,” Arthur answered.
As they walked past the adventurers, someone noticed them.
“Oh, look who we have here. Is this Prince Arthur who ran from the weakest monster in the dungeon?” A young man of the same age as Bruce and Arthur, with red hair and wearing extravagant armor with an imposing crest on his cape.
People at the guild house looked at Arthur and started laughing and murmuring.
Bruce looked at this young man and tapped Arthur’s back.
“Who’s that?” He asked.
“Don’t mind him. Let’s go upstairs.”
“Hey, Prince, who’s this with you?” He looked at Bruce.
Bruce stared at the young man and smiled.
“Is he your bodyguard? He doesn’t look like he can protect you.” Mocking Bruce’s appearance.
Arthur walked to the man’s front and said, “Mordred, that’s enough.”
“Look, people, I’m scared. Prince Arthur said ‘enough.’ I’m so scared.” He mockingly acted.
The people around them laughed and whispered things.
Bruce couldn’t take it anymore and joined in the laughter.
“See, even your bodyguard is laughing at you!” Mordred mockingly said to Arthur.
Arthur looked at Bruce, not disappointed in Bruce but in himself. He was embarrassed.
Bruce continued to laugh so hard that people around the guild house felt weird, and even Mordred and Arthur were confused as why is he laughing that hard.
“You’re really funny. You make me laugh too much; you should be a comedian,” Bruce said as he wiped his tears from laughing.
“You know, I thought I could only see this in a movie. I didn’t know a person like you exists,” Bruce added, looking at Mordred.
Mordred felt that he was being mocked by this person.
“Who said you could laugh, huh? Commoner,” Mordred said to Bruce.
“Why? Everyone is laughing, so why can’t I?” He answered.
“You disrespectful commoner! You don’t know who I am, do you?”
“You’re a comedian, right? Is your name Captain Douchebag? No? Then I’ll call you that.”
Arthur stopped Bruce and whispered, “Ghost, that’s enough; he’s a noble.”
“Put your dog on a leash, Arthur,” Mordred said.
“Yeah? You should wear one; you look like a barking dog.” Bruce said as he grabbed a bone from the table and waved it in front of Mordred’s face.
Mordred couldn’t take this anymore; he sheathed his sword and pointed it at Bruce’s face, saying, “I’ll kill you, commoner!”
The adventurers saw it and grabbed Mordred, saying, “Hey, don’t be like that. He’s just provoking you. If you kill that man here, the Guild master himself will remove you from the Guild house.”
“Remember this day, commoner. Arthur can’t save you!” Mordred said, his eyes piercing through Bruce’s face.
“Oh, yeah? For someone like you, I don’t need help!” Bruce said, smiling and waving goodbye to Mordred.
“Ghost, I said that’s enough. Let’s just go upstairs,” Arthur commanded as he gently pushed Bruce upstairs.
