Chapter 7. The Disappearance of Ruan (V)

At the gates of the broken city of Saraf, a man in a long cloak walked calmly. A white hat for his head. For his body, a golden and shiny cloak fluttering in the open air. In the center, a white inscription - "Order".

Under the cloak, clothes reminiscent of a brown body suit. The man carried on his back, a huge and thick metal rod almost three meters high. He arrived at the town and recognized the destruction in it.

The construction workers who recognized the symbol on his cloak were startled by his presence. One of them pointed his friend towards the figure, and his friend grabbed his head with a silent cry of horror.

"?!" One of them looked at his friend in shock. "A deputy of the World Order Organization?!" he asked with concern and complete surprise. The figure shuffled through the rubble. Soon, all eyes were on him. Everyone who was present stopped working and looked at him with great interest.

"They sent a deputy?! Isn't that excessive?!" asked one of the workers. "It's not certain that they sent him... could it be that he came here by his own will? Maybe by chance?" another wondered in confusion.

"By chance? Why would he come to such a hole, now, by chance?" he replied, trying to understand his friend's irrationality or stupidity. "I don't know... if he has a family member here or something…" he mumbled.

"Wait..." cried an older man around them when he put his hand on his chin and with a piercing eye, he examines every step of the figure.

"Golden cloak..." he thought to himself. "An all-golden cloak... what was it…" he wondered to himself as he tried to remember. "If I'm not mistaken...a lieutenant commander should wear a white cloak with a blue symbol and golden decorations... Or may I be wrong?" he asked himself aloud. "Golden Cloak… Golden Cloak..." He kept repeating, trying to drop the coin. "No! It can't be!" He opened his eyes in surprise. "Could it be... that this is a commander?!" he cried out in terror and utter shock.

"Huh?!?!" shouted the whole crowd around him who was hiding behind his back, as some passed out on the floor. "Commander?! Commander?!?! No way!!! What is he doing here?!" asked one of the workers as he forcefully grabs his friend's clothes and shakes him from side to side.

"I don't know!" cried his friend in panic as he pushed him off of him aggressively.

They hid behind the broken buildings, looking at him with a tremendous shock. He walked through the ruins, writing in his notebook. He looked at the terrain route. He recognized through the ground, the patterns of the battles that were going on. He wrote something in his notebook.

"What is he doing here?! A Commander?!?!" The manager asked in disbelief. "One of humanity's twenty-five most powerful people... Do you understand who we're up against?! One word out of place and that's the end of us! Don't you dare make even one wrong step!" He called angrily towards his employees.

The man with the cloak looked up at the sandy horizon and closed his notebook, as he walked slowly towards the steep sand hills.
