Prologue: The Fall from Grace
"It was in the glory days of the Era of Dragons that the Dragon War began.
Some records claim Man and magical beasts started the war. They sought to expand their lands and made contracts to one another. Man to rule and magical beasts to slaughter. They were threatened by the growing powers of demons and the devils that ruled over them. It was not until the dragons that the war of the whole world began.
At first, the united front of humans and magical beasts held the advantage. However, an Emissary of a Demon Emperor descended from the Immortal Realms as he heard the demons' pleas. It, alone, drove humanity and magical beasts to the brink of extinction. Then, the dragons came and fought back. They slayed the demons and declared the world as their own.
Unable to stand cowering in fear, an empire in the brink of extinction decided to call an Immortal Emissary of their own, to no avail. They turned to the dark magics, attempting to force on down. They did not call an Immortal Emissary, a representative of the humans that became immortal and ascended. No, they called an Undead Emissary.
It was the empire of Venos that sought to save humanity. It was they that brought sin and cursed all of the living. Undead Emissaries were stronger and more mysterious than Demon, Immortal, and Magical Beast Emissaries. it delighted in death and the souls of the citizens of the Venos Empire were the first to have their soul fire tainted and corrupted. They died and rose again, living a new, cursed life. They were the first of the undead race.

They were not the last.
Some people were reborn immediately, coming up from the ground. Fathers fought sons and brothers killed brothers. It was a time of chaos and fire. Soul fire. Eight thousand years passed and the undead now share a third of the world with the demons, the demons delighted with a new ally in their dream of world conquest.
I know not the fates of Man and magical beast. I know not why eldest and strongest of dragons disappeared, the strongest race of all magical beasts. A new Demon King has risen and he is leading his eight generals to attempt to conquer the world once more.
All life must end so that a new one may be born. To break that cycle is to defy the Heavens.
I can only pray that I am not killed by an undead or I will join them in killing my own family and descendants.
