Catalyn’s Point of View
Let’s get this shit straight. Aliens, or whatever, invade our world. Every person on Earth gets one superweapon. I take a weapon based on my MP-28. I then attempt to shoot up my school. A so-called “god” stops me, lets me train myself, and then sends me back, hoping I will choose to take a more righteous path. Instead, I get back and kill a bunch of people. I get in trouble for killing a bunch of people, and am now lying on the ground in the form… of a green orb.
The. Actual. Fuck.
From my earlier assessment, I can see that I’m in the school’s boiler room. It’s basically in the dead center of the school, but I’m not really sure how that’s gonna help me. Why was I transported here? Why was I turned into an inanimate object?
All questions to answer. But first, what can I do? I can’t move, but I can look around. When I look around the room, my vision originates from my body. But, taking a close look in the mirror, it is clear my body has no eyes. What does this mean? Well, it means that my eyesight is probably mana based, which allows me to assume it shouldn’t be contained exclusively within my body.
Now that I have this information, I’ve decided to attempt to widen my range.
At first, I tried to force myself to look from a different vantage point. I imagined looking at myself from above. As I did so, I could feel my mind push mana outside myself, above me.
For a second, I thought I had succeeded. I could see myself from a different perspective! Quite literally. But right after my little imaginary jig, I felt myself get weaker and my mana raced back into myself. Goddammit. I THOUGHT I made progress.
I tried looking at myself from above a few more times, but I made very little leeway. My attempts all had the same result. And, honestly, it hurt. Pushing mana out of myself was similar to going completely limp, losing all muscle control. But then, it comes back and it feels like a sledgehammer to the gut. Not that I have a gut, but you know what I mean. So yeah, it hurts. A lot.
Before taking another shot at this (possibly) doomed to fail attempt at mana control, I decided to do something I should’ve done in the first place. I took a look at my hub. Honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t think to do it before.
As soon as I inspected my hub, I noticed a few oddities. My HP bar was full green, except it had a -/- instead of a 200/200. This was the case with both my mana and my stamina as well. It’s almost as if my stats have been reset - oh. I immediately opened my stat screen and found this:

Well… that explains my problem. I technically have no mana right now. That would explain why I’m having such a problem. Considering I have some peace and quiet right now… I think I’m gonna start distributing stat points and the such.
So, how did I get seventy-five stat points? Based on my original character sheet, I had only sixty points. But, getting to level four gave me fifteen more, which means that each increase in level allots five stat points.
But what are the twenty W stat points? Looking at my abilities, it seems as though I lost both of my physical attributes; strength and agility. In doing so, it seems that the system rerouted those gifted stats from my weapon into the undistributed category, meaning I can do whatever I want with them. This allows for some extra leeway, which is very nice.
It looks like I have three usable skill points. Would this mean I gain one every time I level up? This means they are a LOT more ability stats than skill, don't I should preserve my skill points a lot more. I think I’m gonna wait on using them, for now.
I would like most of my ability scores to equal out in some way, probably with Charisma as the lowest. I don’t exactly see how it would help me quite as much as the others, and Luck seems to have served a very good purpose so far. I figure it would probably be a good idea to dump skill scores into Mana Manipulation, for now. In the end, this is what I came up with:

Once I was satisfied with the current state of my character sheet, I closed my menu and surveyed my surroundings, once again. I was still in the boiler. I was getting real tired with this scenery. I decided to take another shot at mana manipulation.
Alright, let’s do this. I, once again, forced a small amount of mana out of my crystalline body, just enough to look at things from a different vantage point. As I did so, I closed my ethereal eyes and braced for another impact, but I felt nothing. No sudden crashes or gut-wrenching pains.
I slowly let my vision flow back. At first, I couldn’t understand what I was seeing. The view was so different than the one I’ve had for the last… however long I’ve been here. And then I began to comprehend where my consciousness was located. I was looking down at the school. My theory worked far better than I could have ever hoped. Just to see, I was curious exactly how far my vision would take me.
I thought about moving farther into the sky and started to rise steadily. Screw this, LET’S GO! My mana followed my thoughts and I shot toward the sky. I managed to reach the edge of our atmosphere and looked back down. I don’t think I ever really appreciated Earth. God, it’s beautiful. Earths blend of oceans and land, its lights from all the cities and technological advancements. It seems like there’s no end to it.
I turned around and looked farther into space. I could actually see the moon from here. It looks a lot cooler without through an atmosphere filled with fumes.
And then I fell.
