Year 2004
April 29, Tokyo
That day, I was getting ready for school unusually early. On my way there, it was still only 7:30 AM, and school didn't start until 8:15 AM. With some extra time on my hands, I decided to head to my usual hangout spot after grabbing a can of cola from a vending machine.
My destination was a riverside bank where I often spent peaceful moments. A cherry blossom tree stood near the river, adding a serene beauty to the place. The weather that day was cloudy, with faint rays of sunshine breaking through the overcast sky. As I thought about the weather, I imagined my favorite spot: cool winds blowing, the riverside bank, the cherry blossom tree shedding its pink petals, the faint sunlight making everything shine softly-it was the perfect setting to enjoy nature.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Though I often visited the riverside after school, this was my first time going there in the morning. The place was quiet, and not many people came around, especially at that hour. I hadn't joined any clubs at school-not because I wasn't interested in anything, but because I preferred solitary hobbies like reading and sketching. I enjoyed drawing in quiet places, and this spot was ideal.
When I arrived, something was different. A girl was standing under the cherry blossom tree, facing the river and gazing at the falling petals. She wore the same middle school uniform as me, yet I didn't recognize her. The cool winds swept through the scene, creating a tranquil atmosphere.
I decided to sit on the grassy slope nearby, silently observing this beautiful moment. After a few minutes, the girl turned toward me, her long black hair flowing elegantly in the wind. She was stunning, with sparkling crimson red eyes that left me mesmerized. That moment felt like it had been imprinted in my mind.
But then, as her eyes met mine, her expression stiffened. Without saying a word, she turned and walked away, heading toward the school. I was left sitting there, confused and captivated. I had never seen her at school before.
Two minutes later, I got up and started walking toward school myself, still thinking about that encounter.
