Who Is The Real Monster?

Who Is The Real Monster?

The shadow of death looms relentlessly, casting its grim presence across every corner and along the once-expansive borders of Antonyia's cities. The once-vast kingdom has undergone a harrowing transformation, diminished and scarred by the relentless war waged against the monstrous minions of the druid Hirvan.

The king, resolute in his determination, vowed to extinguish the lives of every monstrous entity that dared threaten his realm. Simultaneously, Hirvan, the malevolent druid, declared an ominous crusade to annihilate the entire human race, commencing with the grandeur of Antorya, the largest and most prominent kingdom on the entire continent. The clash between these two opposing forces has plunged the kingdom into an abyss of relentless conflict, leaving its cities and citizens in a perpetual state of peril.

Within the oppressive depths of the mountainous cave, darkness reigned as an unsettling shroud, painting the cavern in a palette of omonious blacks. The air itself seemed thick with an uncanny stillness, broken only by the foreboding echoes of Hirvan's malevolent presence.

Hirvan, once a druid, now morphed into a ugly devlish monster, occupied the heart of this dark lair. In his monstrous manifestation, is a sight to behold, a terrifying fusion of agony and ferocity. His skin, once human, now bears the scars of an otherworldly transformation, appearing as if seared by the fires of a malevolent force. The color of his pores is an unsettling shade of crimson, resembling freshly spilled blood, and emanating an chilling, almost spectral glow.

His facial features are contorted and disfigured, a testament to the torment he has endured. The once-familiar countenance is now a nightmarish visage, with skin pulled tight over the bones and twisted into unnatural angles. Jagged scars crisscross his face, giving the impression of a tortured soul trapped within a monstrous shell.

Hirvan's eyes burn with an intense red glow, a reflection of the inferno that rages within. They pierce through the darkness, revealing a primal and malevolent intelligence lurking behind the monstrous exterior. It's as if the very essence of his humanity has been replaced by the fiery essence of some eldritch force.

In stature, he looms larger than any human, a hulking mass of distorted proportions. His limbs are thick and muscular, giving him an imposing presence that commands both fear and loathing. The air around him seems to vibrate with an unsettling energy, as if the very fabric of reality recoils from the monstrous entity that Hirvan has become.

Beside him, his loyal monsters, the initial architects of his dark uprising, stood sentinel. They were his devoted followers, the first to rally to his cause and assist in amassing an army. To these creatures, Hirvan was more than a leader; he was a god, an immortal force commanding their unwavering loyalty. Each monstrous entity within the cave revered him, ready to sacrifice their very existence at his behest, aware of his immortality and the formidable power he wielded over them.

As Hirvan sat amidst the chilling ambiance of his lair, his followers cheered in a chorus of reverence, a symphony of loyalty echoing through the subterranean cavern.

Hirvan began reminding his monsters of the importance of the war, why they had to win it, why they had to control the world...

"My beloved creatures - or like those pitiful humans call you, monsters - you aren't the real monsters of the world...We are in a war with those humans for one reason and one reason only...We must end their race so that we can take control of this world."

All monsters yelled in unison, "YEAH! Our Lord!"

Hirvan continued, "And why must we win? My sons, we must win because we are the holy creatures that are capable of making peace in the world, and we are not like those humans...Do you know why they call themselves humans? Do you know what humanity is?

All monsters replied, "No," as they looked to each other, wondering about the meaning.

"Humanity is all about respect and love towards each other, living like one family, as equals. So tell me, my sons, who are the humans here? Them, those creatures who kill each other for their greedy needs…? Just for a small section of land, millions die and innocent blood is shed… Just so that they can to satisfy themselves, they kill each other for anything, even under the watch of their own god."

then add to that "Just look at the wars they had, the suffer they did to each other and their absolute ignorance. Even I was unholly, pathetic creature like them I was living in fear, King David's ancestors killed all druids in Antorya and tried to kill us in other kingdoms. The war of 100 years was because of their relentless chase for us, and why? because we have the knowldege and learned the old language and we carry the secrets of the world."

As Hirvan remember the past,a tempest of anger churned within him, an inferno that threatened to consume even the shadows in the cavern. His massive form quivered with an unrestrained fury, the crimson glow in his eyes pulsating like the heartbeat of a storm. The monsters surrounding him, witnesses to this eruption of emotion, exchanged somber glances. Their eyes held a mixture of sympathy and sorrow as they observed their leader unraveling in the face of a past thought buried

"I i innocently believed his treacherous lies when he promised that he forgave us and will not hunt us anymore after tne war is over and he will make sure we will live normal life in his kingdom.Yet he betrayed me after I scraficed myself to him, I went to hunt this legendary beast here in this cave.I FOUGHT FOR HIM HERE, I SCRAFICED MYSELF FOR HIM" as he screams loudly

"Then he dares to declare us as monsters? Are we really the monsters? or them? the filthy, lying, greedy creatures?" as furosily asking his monsters

All the monsters screamed, raising their blades. "HUMANS, HUMANS, HUMANS"

"Yes, that's right the humans do that, not us, they are real monsters, not us. Their God gave them life, and they're wasting it as while asking for forgiveness at the same time...While I, your God, forgive you for all your sins from when you were human, and I forbid you from killing each other. We are holy creatures, and for these reasons, we must win to make the Earth a better place. No more wars, no more deaths, a perfect place only for us."

All monsters together cheered, "YES! our god!" They kneeled to show their respect to Hirvan.

After the speech, a monster rushed in and asked to speak with Hirvan about an important issue. Hirvan agreed to the hearing.

"My lord, I have news for you."

Hirvan's brows furrowed in a mixture of concern and confusion as he listened to the monster's somber tale about Zeral killing the monsters in Batrak. The crimson glow in his eyes intensified, betraying the turbulence of emotions beneath his monstrous exterior.

"Tell me everything, my son," Hirvan urged, his voice a low rumble that echoed through the cavernous chamber. "Who was this human? How did he manage to best your brothers?"

The grieving monster struggled to compose himself, wiping away a tear that streaked down his fiery-red skin. "It was no ordinary human, my lord. This one... this one wielded a power unlike anything we've encountered. They moved with a swiftness and precision that caught us off guard."

Hirvan's colossal form tensed at the revelation. "A formidable adversary, then. Continue."

The monster hesitated before continuing, the memory of the traumatic events etched across his disfigured face. "The human... they wore a cloak that seemed to blend with the shadows. My brothers approached cautiously, but before they could react, the assailant struck with unnatural speed. It was as if death itself had descended upon them."

then he add this, "After I heard one of my brothers screaming, I went to go and look. I thought they were fighting a wild animal, or maybe an entire army of humans, but I looked at them through a hole in the wall to check saw something terrible. I couldn't do anything except run to come back here and warn you, my lord."

Hirvan's fists clenched involuntarily, the anger in his gaze simmering like molten lava. "And the gold? Did you retrieve it?"

The author's content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

The monster nodded, though sorrow lingered in his eyes. "Yes, my lord. I managed to find the gold hidden in a vault beneath the ruins, after I was watching what happened to my brothers from distance but I could not save them. The human vanished into the shadows, leaving us to face the consequences of our mission."

Hirvan's expression darkened, a storm of conflicting emotions raging within. "This is an affront to our kind. A human with such abilities must be dealt with swiftly. We will mourn your brothers, but vengeance will be ours."

As the monster lowered its gaze, Hirvan's red eyes burned with a newfound determination. The news had stirred something primal within him, a call to action that transcended the monstrous exterior. The city of Bartak would bear witness to the wrath of a grieving monster, and the shadows that harbored the elusive human would soon find themselves hunted by a force born from the depths of despair.

Hirvan's monstrous form quivered with a mixture of shock and anger, his features contorting in a display of volatile emotions. The crimson glow in his eyes flickered as he processed the implications of the monster's revelation.

Then Hirvan start mumbling and asking himself, "So one human killed three holy beings all in one sitting? How is that possible? They are weaker than us, no mere human could kill three of us in this form."

The monster, still visibly shaken by the encounter, nodded solemnly. "Yes, that's what I thought, so that's why I had to return with this horrible news. This human is insanely powerful with amazing strength, I've never seen someone like him before. My lord, the last monster standing stabbed him with his sword; but this human didn't die; nor did the blood come out.It was as if death itself had abandoned its claim on him."

"He must be immortal like you. My lord." another monster followed by that.

"An immortal like me, you say. But how? There is no other human that drank from the Zeralizion's blood except for me, who did so 10 years ago. Wait, don't tell me it's him! Damn it!" Hiravn was speaking then his fists clenched, the revelation hitting him like a thunderbolt.

"Adomas. The soldier who killed the silver sabertooth. I thought he died. I remember him, he was the brave commander of Batrak. Tales will tell that man, is the only person in history to kill the Zeralizion" as Hirvan, strode with deliberate steps through the dimly lit expanse of his cavernous lair. The grim of his every footfall reverberated off the cavern walls, creating an unsettling symphony as he approached the heart of his domain.

The inquisitive monster, compelled by a mixture of fear and tension, posed the question to Hirvan, his lord and god, seeking understanding in the face of the enigma before them. "My lord, so he really is immortal? But in a human form? How?"

Hirvan, the monstrous druid, with his disfigured face casting a shadow in the dimly lit cave, responded with a sense of authority and a hint of reminiscence. "I'm not exactly sure, but I think he is indeed another immortal being. I remember his face as he slew the beast and saved my life before I drank the beast's blood, and I owe him for that. If it weren't for him, there would be no holy beings. Perhaps he got his immortality when the silver sabertooth died above him, and its blood may have fused with that brave warrior's blood, thus making him immortal."

As the revelation unfolded, the monsters listened attentively, their loyalty to Hirvan deepening as they absorbed the mystifying tale of Zeral's transformation into an immortal being. The cave, now filled with a sense of wonder and dread, bore witness to the unraveling of a tale that transcended the boundaries of mortality and delved into the realm of the another world.

Once more, the monster sought clarification, its curiosity pushing it to question further. "So that's how he's immortal like you, but why does he remain in human form? And is he the reason the Zeralizion's body disappeared?"

Hirvan, his monstrous visage casting absolute shadows in the cave's dim light, responded with animated conviction. "Yes! After I transformed, I started killing those bastards who wanted to end me. Moments afterward, I heard a roar, unlike any other—the roar of a powerful beast dying. One creature, who initially appeared human, turned and slaughtered all of them in a furious rampage. I fled, thinking, 'I'm dying, and I don't even stand a chance against that creature by myself."

As Hirvan recounted the tale of Zeral's transformation into an immortal being, the monsters surrounding him displayed a range of emotions — astonishment, disbelief, and a hint of fear. Their hideous features twisted in surprise as they exchanged glances, grappling with the implications of a fellow immortal in their midst.

Hirvan, with his deadly voice, walked among them, his imposing presence casting venomously shadows on the cave walls. The monsters, captivated by his narrative, listened intently, their loyalty to him deepening as they absorbed the mysterious and compelling account of Zeral's metamorphosis.

Hirvan, with a reflective gaze, shared the tale of the cave's transformation. "After I left the cave, a thunderous force struck the entrance, sealing it off from the outside world. Fueled by the realization of the power I had gained and the ability to transform humans into beings like us, I returned later with my newborn holy beings. We cleared the rocks that obstructed the entrance, but to my dismay, nothing remained inside. Both the Apex predator, Zeralizion and the beastly formed Adomas had vanished. And now, here we stand in my humble castle, the abode of the legendary Silver Sabertooth's lair."

The monster asked with fear in his deep voice "So could it be that the mysterious silver-skinned man who called himself Zeral which I saw killing my brothers is this same commander called Adomas? So what shall we do? How will we punish him?"

Hirvan let out a deep chuckle. "Hahaha, who says I want to punish him? No, we will not...You see, that creature has Zeralizion blood inside him, the king left him for dead. So he is possibly enemy of humans as well. So why not, instead of fighting him, let him be on our side in this war? with his aid we will end the unholy creatures race"

The one monster asked, "How?"

The other monsters scoffed, "That's a brilliant idea...Yeah...Sure.."

Hirvan continued, "I think he went back to the city of Bartak for a reason. That city had been left for dead many years ago, before we arrived to it so I'm sure he returned to look for a survivor. The thing is, what if we told him that humans killed everyone there? So if he heard this, and if this indeed was Adomas, the hero of Batrak, then he would avenge his lost ones by helping us in this war..."

The monster voiced its uncertainty, "That's a compelling idea, my lord, but do you think he would accept? And were it truly humans who massacred the city's people? I distinctly remember when we first arrived at the city; our intent was to eliminate everyone, only to find it was already a lifeless place."

Hirvan contemplated the information, his thoughts lingering on the mysterious past. "I'm uncertain about what transpired there... It's a puzzle to me too. Did the unfaithful king ordered his soldiers to slaughter the residents? And if so, why? However, I believe the Zeralizion's killer will be inclined to accept our offer."

Then he add to that. "We need his help to eliminate the humans who abandoned him, leaving him to endure solitude and witnessing the demise of his loved ones. Go and fetch that man; tell him that God Hirvan himself has requested his presence. If he remains the person I knew years ago, he will heed my call...

The monsters complied. "Alright, my lord, as you wish." The monsters left in search of the mysterious man. Then he order others to go find gold in other locations in different cities across Antorya

then Hirvan continue walking to the monster who delivered him the news and told him while the monsters surrounding him cast furtive glances at one another, their expressions mirroring a collective anticipation of Hirvan's response.

"Don't cry, my son," Hirvan's voice resonated, a low rumble that cut through the heavy air. "You did good. You got the gold, the only thing that motivate humans to figh. With less gold, less food, and less fresh water, we will suffocate them more and we will get new people to join us and you will have more brothers here but I promise the death of your brothers will not be in vain. If I was like that king, I would behead you, but no, I'm God. I forgive and help my children. Now go, rest, and let the pain fade away. You are holy beings for a reason."

The monster, still trembling with grief, bowed down before Hirvan. Tears streaked down his fiery-red skin, a silent testimony to the weight of loss and the burden of his mission. Hirvan's words, though stern, carried an unexpected grace, a paradoxical blend of authority and compassion.

"Yes, my lord," the monster whispered, his voice choked with emotion.

Hirvan's fiery gaze, still smoldering with the remnants of anger, shifted toward a secluded spot in the cavern. In that moment, the passage of time seemed to warp, and the shadows danced with memories that transcended the present. He closed his red eyes briefly, allowing the haunting images of the past to resurface.

In the recesses of his mind, the sound of clashing swords and the roars of a silver sabertooth reverberated. The memory emerged with vivid clarity: Zeral, a soldier of unparalleled skill, facing the monstrous creature in a fierce battle. The fear that had gripped Hirvan back then, the primal instinct to retreat, resurfaced momentarily. He recalled the visceral terror as Zeral, with unwavering determination, plunged his swords into the heart of the silversabertooth, ending its formidable reign.

As the memory played out, Hirvan's features softened, and the fire in his eyes flickered with a different intensity. A subtle smile curled on his disfigured face, a blend of reminiscence and newfound resolve. The moment of fear from the past transformed into a source of empowerment.

Returning to the present, Hirvan opened his eyes, and the cavern resumed its quietude. The monsters, still watching their leader with a mix of curiosity and reverence, noticed the change in his demeanor. The anger that had once consumed him now gave way to a steely determination.

Hirvan's smile widened, and he spoke with a measured assurance, "With Zeral by my side, we will end the human race and forge a new world. A world where the holy being reign supreme, there will be no more wars, no more betrayls, no more greed, no more brothers killing each other, a peaceful world only for you to live in with no pain and no suffering and only acceptance for who we are and all of you will pray for one God and that one is me."

The monsters, sensing the shifting currents of fate, exchanged glances filled with anticipation. Hirvan's alliance with Zeral, born from a shared history and a desire for retribution, promised a future where the balance of power would tilt in favor of the monstrous entities that inhabited the shadows.

The End.
