[Humans] - Are amongst the youngest of the known races that exists. Compared to others, they are less adept at magic, attuned to the environment, or otherwise 'mystical' than others. They are also one of the few species that are divided into multiple nations, and tend to be more widespread than other races as they can be found all over the world. Despite their weaknesses, humans are know to persevere and overcome challenges and use their resourcefulness and intelligence to become one of the most powerful species in the world of Edrillon. They have complicated relationships with other civilizations (from positive to hostile) due to humans of the past often expanding their territory into the lands of others.
[Elves] - Are identified by their magical prowess, good looks, white hair, long lives, and pointed ears. They are one of the oldest civilizations, often looking down on the others as unsophisticated children. They have made the large kingdom of Fiore (on the Ishgar Continent) their home, the nation is known to be full of lush forests, high mountains, and strong rivers/lakes. Elves are also known for their mastery of not just magic, but swords and bows.
[Dwarves] - Short, stout, bearded and fond of singing, drinking, mining and fighting. Dwarves usually live in immense, richly decorated mountain holds(in the kingdom of Egrait), and are master craftsmen and smiths.
[Orcs] - Orcs are known for their large muscular physiques and their culture that is drenched in warfare. They come in a multitude of different colors (green, blue, purple, red, etc), have pointed ears like elves, sharp teeth (the most prominent are their canine teeth), and their tattoo-like birth marks. Orcs do have a sophisticated culture of their own and are renowned for their mariner profession, being able to navigate the seas better than all others. This has created a Seafaring culture amongst the orcs, especially since they originate from the Golden Isles (a kingdom made up of a chain of multiple islands, 10 out of 12 are inhabited, and is a couple hundred miles off of the western coast of Ishgar). Although this in turn had made Orcs of the past build ships and use them to get to the mainland where they would proceed to pillage and rape the land and its people.
[Goblins] - Unlike other species, goblins are of low intelligence and are viewed as being nothing more than animals by many. This is because they are incapable of speech (usually heard growling), and use sticks and sharped rocks to fight and are easily drawn to shiny objects like gold. They also differ by not having a nation of origin as they can be found all over the world. They are weak by themselves, but their true strength can be found in the large groups or tribes they live in (the physically strongest rules over the others in hierarchy).
[Beastmen] - Are described as humanoid animals and zoomorphic humanoids and are known to be closer to nature than other races. While they live in the Apeovadian Kingdom (the largest nation on the Ishgar continent) they do not have a form of government that rules over the land as a whole. Apeovadia is spilt into smaller territories that are used by the various Beastman clans (Cat men, dog men, wolf men, etc). Although they are not as adept at using mana as others, their naturally enhanced abilities, intense rage, and their use of aura has made them some of the most powerful warriors in the world.

[Centaurs] - Horse-bodied humanoids, they tend to live away from most civilization, usually found in the forests of Fiore. Although they can be found in the forests of other lands, they primarily stay in Fiore because of the protection the elves provide. Because of their isolation, they usually remain neutral in most conflicts, only fighting if attacked directly.
[Fairies, Nymphs, and Nature Spirits] - Protectors of the wild places of the world, their personalities can range from benevolent to mischievous to hateful. They're usually on poor terms with groups who advance civilization or despoil the wilderness, especially humans, dwarves and orcs, but have a better relationship with more nature-friendly groups such as elves.
[Giants] - They once ruled over the lands as kings before giant hunting became a popular pastime, leading to a drastic drop in the population and nearly causing an extinction of the species. This has led the few who have survived to avoid civilization at all costs, hiding in mountains, caves, and forests. They vary wildly in size between 'slightly taller than humans' to 'as big as mountains', they can as have a single eye (Cyclops) or two heads (Ettin).
[Merfolk] - Water dwelling humanoids, they are also referred to as sirens, tritons, or naiads, among others. They might be the classic 'human from waist up, fish from waist down' mermaids/ mermen but they can also resemble fish. They are usually either cautious and wary about the land-dwelling folk, or outright hostile, attacking the land-dwellers or luring them to their deaths. While Merfolk do have a royal family (The Waves) who rule over all, the species is known to do what they want despite laws and regulations being passed. This is because Merfolk call the entire ocean their home/domain, so it can be hard to control so many across such a large area. They also have have the ability to use magic, but they are usually based on sound, transformation, or water.
[Dragons] - Absurdly powerful and dangerous creatures, with a great love for treasure and a great deal of arrogance. They have incredibly long lifespans and can grow to the size of towns and cities, there have even been reports of dragons the size of whole kingdoms. They are known for the powerful flames they release from their mouths. Dragons are also capable using their own kind of magic, the truth scope of which are kept to only themselves.
[Dire Beasts] - Larger and more powerful versions of mundane animals (Dire wolves, Dire cats, Dire Spiders, etc). Their size can vary from just slightly bigger than their mundane compatriots to to as large as buildings. Dire Beasts are seen as very dangerous as they are known to attack other creatures on sight and their bodies are extremely durable, being able to shrug off low to mid tier magic spells and bladed weapons with ease.
