Raphial looked at the dungeon known as the cave of the forgotten, they say whoever had entered that dungeon would never return. Yet hundreds went in as the treasure was so compelling,'what could it be?' raphial thought. What could be so much more valuable than one's own life? Was it truly worth it?
Well he didn't care, he wasn't gonna do such a stupid thing. Why throw away a perfectly normal life for something in a dungeon that might not even be worth it in the end? He wasn't going to do such a thing he wasn't some righteous warrior who'd conquer every 'dungeon' and 'cave system'. He was simply a lowly thief, well he was the captain of the thief of his area mind it. Even so a thief was also smarter than some 'righteous warrior' who would throw their lives away, who'd leave their children without a father or their wives without a husband.
"truly they'd have to be an idio-"

Raphial moans in agony, his bones feeling like they'd been crushed, his head felt the attack of hundreds of needles and his legs were like sticks, making him almost fall over trying to stand up. He held on to the crack of the dungeon walls near by to get up and stand still to regain the control of his body. "Oh no.." raphial said outloud to the endless darkness of the dungeon only broken by the torch placed on the torch holder of the place inside the cave he was in.
He had fallen into the cave by accident. How did he even fall? The floor was never slippery he even ran there once and it wasn't slippery back then, nor had it rained, so there was truly no explanation to what had just happened. All he could think of was that the wrath of the cave had fallen onto him. Damn it, he shouldn't have said such things Infront of the dungeon , he shouldn't have called the dungeon not worth it even though true. And now he was stuck in here with no way to escape other than beating the dungeon or accidentally stumbling upon the exist which had a close to never happening and he's doomed chance.
Now that he had fallen into the dungeon, raphial had to do something, he wasn't just gonna sit still. He wasn't gonna die without a fight, he's the captain of the thief's damnit he, well the captain of the thief's would never make such a pitiful mistake, but he had and now it was either do or die. And he answered with do and die because he definitely isn't cut out to defeat this dungeon by himself. Even a team of 40 couldn't so how would he alone do it. Nonetheless he removed the torch from the torch stand as it seemed like the only source of light, and he was not gonna move around in the dark.
There were only two directions to walk and he chose forward as his gut said to do so, his gut never failed him before but there was always a first time for everything so he'd see what'd happen. He walked in the same way surrounded by the monotonous darkness and walls of the dungeon, which seemed to never end, occasionally he'd see green vines and branches of trees on the walls but that was it. Other than that it was just the dull yellow walls. He walked and walked the monotonous way with silence. The only noise made was the sound of his boots walking on the floor. He walked and he walked. Occasionally he rested to regain energy. He had brought some water with him and food with him because the walk to the dungeon was far.
He had went to the dungeon to reminisce and was planning on eating on the way back home to gain some energy. Little did he know that he'd fall in, then he'd bring more supplies at least. Raphial walked for what it seemed like a day finally running out of the water and food he brought and ate so carefully. The monotonous walls seemed to never end and raphials eyes looked like he hadn't sleeped for days, his posture had become a little hunched like an old man just without a stick, raphial started to talk to himself to keep himself entertained and the light of the seemingly non ending torch was also now extinguishing slowly. Raphial was scared that soon, he'd be left in the dark, and finally something would claim him.

Raphial finally saw a door, "A..A door?! Yes! Finally!" He cried out to himself. Raphial had finally reached something, finally no more yellow walls, maybe even the exist. He cried out tears of joy as he fell to his knees, it felt like a stone was lifted from his chest. "Yes!" He exclaimed while crying. Getting himself together raphial went closer to the door, putting his torch down he finally pushed the door open..

The torch that stopped the darkness from creeping in finally extinguished in the ground. And promptly all the torches inside the room behind the door lit up. He saw a treasure chest in the middle of the room, and nothing else was there. Raphial rushed to the treasure chest, maybe he had transferred to the trophy room. And was gonna get out once he opened the treasure chest.
Oh so wrong he was...
As soon as he opened the chest it disappeared from Infront of him, he looked in aw as the chest itself turned into a monster of sorts, it had grown two pair of white eyes which it seemed to use to pierce into the soul of Raphial. He grew the body of a golem, with branches and leaves springing out from it. While it didn't look scary more of a cartoon it sure as hell was scary. It was a chest golem, it was usually a boss at the end of the dungeon and considered a high level threat for those unprepared, as it would not be affected by magic which was a key part of the raids done in dungeons.
So, if such a monster were to appear, the unprepared ones or the ones who didn't bring a tanker just because they had a magician would perish. 'So, that's why no one had ever beaten this dungeon, since it was considered a really high level dungeon no one ever expected it to have the chest golem.' raphial said to himself. The golem looked at raphial like he was a toy ready to be played with.
He jumped towards raphial as raphial cursed the golem, he rolled out of the way just in the nick of time to be half an inch away from the place of impact. 'That was close' raphial thought. 'I will not be able to dodge that again...' Raphial looked here and there as the golem tried to pick himself up from the crater he had created in the ground. Raphial saw no tools to help him fight this golem, was he now just doomed to die like this? What an amazing luck he had. Just as he thought that he saw a torch fall to the ground from the upper part where the torches were held. Raphial practically jumped in joy, was luck finally on his side?
Apparently not. The golem had already jumped at him again before he could run to to get the torch. This time he jumped onto a wall and propelled himself outside of the area of impact, he landed on his side feeling his ribs being absolutely obliterated by pain, it felt like they had broken and maybe they were, but he had no time to think about it. He got up as fast as he could.
By the time he was up the golem was already half way out of the pit of destruction created by itself. Without much thought he ran towards the torch, he had no other way to defeat it afterall. So, it was his only option to do even a little bit of damage. But as he ran he heard the familiar sound of the golems jump. He looked behind him to only see the menacing shadow of the golem cast upon him. He rolled to the left this time trying to avoid it's impact but suddenly. The golem changed its course of trajectory and went the same way as raphial rolled.
"Sh*t" raphial thought outloud. Raphial panicked for second, he couldn't move an invisible force took over before even being hit by golem, he felt pushed down by it and felt his impending doom near. By what it seemed like was instinct he moved out of the way as he was inches away from that wreched thing. Again, raphial escaped death, maybe due to his skills as a thief, or maybe it was luck. But it didn't matter. All that mattered was that he was alive. And he needed to live. The golem finally roared in anger missing its' prey 3 different times. This time Raphial didn't wait for the golem to be half out he ran to the torch to pick it up and finally do something about this unfair attack.
Raphial picked up the torch from the ground as he looked at the golem already picking itself up from the crater once again. "Okay you monster, let's see how you do against fire." As he said that the fire of the torch extinguished in his hands. Raphial felt his heart skip a beat as the fires warmth disappeared. He looked at the monster once more as it had a sinister smile...
