“Where in tarnation?” Joey said as he opened his eyes after spawning into the game.
Hmm. Okay, so I spawned inside of a white room. Completely white. Like what the hell! I’ve been told that people first appear in an area that should correspond to their most likely future job but COMMON! Does this mean I’m gonna be alone and empty?!
Welcome to The Server!
Being a new player you have been awarded a class!
Classes available: Dungeon creator: Recruit:
Warning! An unknown AI is trying to connect to your capsule. AI identified as Alex. Accept link to AI?
Warning! Can only have one AI unless your class says otherwise. Possibility to create and use more than one AI with one available class.
Choose your class
Well, this is new. I’m not sure if I should be jumping for joy or curing this god damned system. Most people in my position would be crying tears of joy at seeing a special class. The reason why I’m not is because I know that class. I searched about different classes and I happened about this particular class. Although the system never told me what it does I know exactly what it does. Drives a person mental.
It’s because if you’re a Dungeon Creator you have great power. You can practically build bases and create as many as you want as long as you got a base standing and enough energy to create one. The problem is that the game is restarting. Basically, my worst nightmare will become reality. I’ll be alone for A LOT of years. Most likely.
The dungeon master creates dungeons based on certain power energies. They can create other creatures with some brain in them but little to none. They can also make items in their base out of a resource called ether. They can also make AI’s from a different resource but that was pretty confidential and I never bothered to look into it. As for recruit? I’d have to be a Likable guy to get anywhere in life starting as a recruit. Especially with my size and specialties. No one likes a person that tells them what is right, especially if this know it all is always right. (Which I am, obviously.)
An upside is I’ll have a use for this little chip in my hand. Alex thought as he felt the computer chip in his right hand. It was a small microchip that was only an inch big and was obviously meant to be installed into something.
This must be Alex. Even more reason to be a dungeon master. “Okay. I choose to become a Dungeon Creator!”
You have become a Dungeon Creator!
+10 to INT. +3 to LCK +10 to WIS
To open tutorial tap the space in front of you to open the options window. This window will contain your status, quests, and skills! You will also be able to see your amount of energy that you contain.
After seeing the message and the beautiful but free stat points I gained, I’d like to see my status. I opened the options window by tapping in front of me just like how the system told me to. I then saw the options to check my status, go to the tutorial, or contact friends. It also had a note that read ‘Just say any of the words in your head in a commanding voice to open said option.’
How Convenient. I’m just going to tap status anyways. Hope I’m not doing too bad in any of my attributes… From what I heard the normal attributes a person has should be around ten for each one and five luck and charisma. Let’s see...

You’re kidding me right. RIGHT?! I know that I wasn’t the most likable person after my mom and brother died. I know that I shut myself off from other people. I can see why I would have less charm then normal. But the other attributes?! My strength which is something I was proud of is 0. Something seems a bit off considering my agility is zero meaning that I can’t move. Obviously, I can move so it must be an error. My dexterity seemed to be the problem here. That was currently just a question mark which was weird. Did the game break down from too many people loading in or something? Besides these troublesome attributes, everything else was extremely high for just getting into a game. What aggravates me to no end would be my title. Is my title noob?!?! The system must be going directly out of its way just to screw with me! Never heard anyone else have that title but me! Is the system trying to make me a laughing stock so everyone else can feel better about themselves?
To make things clear the Stats were pretty clear-cut. Strength (STR) showed how much power you can put into your punch or lifting something up. One strength was able to lift ten pounds. Agility (AGI) was how fast and far you could run. A normal person can run a mile every nine minutes. They would have about eight agility in most normal situations. Intelligence (INT) is used for several things. It can be to used to see how well a person is doing for magic efficiency, mental capability, memorization, energy control, and how smart a person is when thinking. It was also the main stat that increased energy among humanoid creatures. Perception (PER) is similar to dexterity but it either relies on how well a person perceives their surroundings or how well they can sense something. That can include eyesight and coordination as well. It can differ from creature to creature. Dexterity (DEX) is used to measure people's fineness in handling anything. A person with high dexterity will have an easier time carving something beautifully or handling daggers easier. It also helps with using just the right amount of strength that a person wanted.
Dexterity was pretty clear cut as well but was completely different from luck. Luck (LCK) was hard to measure and no one has ever been able to get a measurement for it as of yet. Basically the more luck you got the higher the chances of good events happening will also increase.
Wisdom (WIS) was similar to luck because wisdom couldn’t exactly be measured. It seemed to vary from race to race. Basically, it helped people’s decision making and the ability to think faster. It also helped to gain energy or mana regeneration. It was similar to intelligence in that regard except it would increase the regeneration time, not the total amount. It was also said that if a creature had high stats in the two categories but didn’t use a form of energy that it produces itself, the other effects of wisdom and intelligence would be more effective on them rather than a creature that could use that form of energy.
There was also a rumor going around that if you had high enough wisdom and intelligence you could gain the ability to use mental attacks. These were only rumors from the globalnet that earth got a hold of. Most of our information came from comments from other creatures in the game that were recorded and viewed by the common populace. Of course, I hacked into a few things to get this information… Who else was going to use the information? If I could access it why wouldn't I? It’d be a crime not to!
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
The last stat was also what people from Earth gathered from the GN. A bit fishy but people said it was either increase the amount of health a person had or increase the durability of an item. Why do I only have 1 END?! What’s up with that? I got a hundred health so do I get a hundred health for every END? That’d be cool considering that I get two free attributes per level.
Oh and that’s not the end, that’d be too easy. The system seems to love taunting me. It gave me the skills Aggravate, Hack, and Cower. WHAT TYPE OF SKILL IS THAT? On the bright side, I can check to see what the skills do.
Aggravate: Off Basic
The ability to make other’s naturally hate you or be mad at you. You mastered your craft and have a 100% increase to any taunt. Also activates even when you just say normal words, that’s just how skilled you are.
Cower: Off Basic
Most people can beg and plead better than normal. The Cower skill had a 200% increase in having another person believe that you are weak and useless when you surrender or act submissive.
Hack: Hidden Skill: Intermediate Rare
The skill to get into nearly any server or connection from another person. Most people can get into a server too but very rarely can a person get in undetected. You’re one grade better than them though.
400% speed increase to hacking into servers
100% increase in stealth when you’re remotely hacking into a system.
+1 luck and WIS when you corrupt an AI.
Bluff: Advanced Basic
Gained by being able to tell a lie with a straight face.
You yourself have been able to bull crap your way in and out of any situation. Lying and deceiving is as natural to you as breathing is.
-1 CHR when caught bluffing. +1 INT when successful.
(Skill combination: Straight face, Deceive, cheat.)
Concentration: Basic Basic
Being alone and filled with the desire to do better, you learned Concentration.
100% increase in focus when doing a certain task.
Dungeon Creation: Permanent Dungeon cores: 2 Epic
The ability to create Dungeons when you have enough mana and certain materials. Specific class skill to Dungeon Creators. Specific Details unknown until Rank up.
Bloody hell. That is a lot better then what I thought. I thought hack was an offensive skill. I didn’t expect to have the skill that I used in real life to be back in here. Even Aggravate and Cower can save my life if used right, although they seem to be passives that I can turn on and off at a thought. Dungeon Creation is probably how I create dungeons. The only question that I have is why do I have two Dungeon cores instead of one? Must be faulty information from Dungeon Creators themselves. Who would not hide their trump card, especially if it’s a second Dungeon!
It did seem that the people from the GN were telling the truth. They said that if you got certain skills you could have them unintentionally combined to create better skills. The only problem here was that they said you could get skills with certain level ups. You were given an option of a specialized skill at level one and skill points to get basic skills or higher when you level up. Must be when the GN was set-up it worked that way and won’t be restored until then? For all I know, The Server could’ve changed that rule. Well on the bright side...
That seemed to clear up a ton of doubt. Although it could be better, at least I have high luck and some skills right off the bat. Now that all of my status is cleared out, it’s time to move onto my friends! Yeah funny joke, I know. I’ve basically shut myself off from any form of human contact just to focus on my skills for the big moment when I get into The Server. It’s not that I was bullied and hated because of my size during high school. Just not a lot of people love my shining personality. Yep, that’s it.
That’s cool. It seemed I could also click on my class to see what a Dungeon Creator’s description was. Did they update The server or something? I’ve never heard of this being an option…
Dungeon Creator: This class is for creatures of solitude and obsessed over self-protection. Your task is to create dungeons in nearby planets and to kill off other inhabitants of that planet. Once you have done that you can conquer your solar system that you are in making it yours. By conquering a solar system you gain increased movement speed in your owned territory. You can also designate where people can warp into and out of this solar system. You can also close some gates around the solar system but you need to have at least two different gates to and from your system. The more you conquer the stronger you become. You will get special notices on what happens when you rule more area.
That sounded awesome. Fit me perfectly considering that I was always paranoid that someone would try to kill me because of my parents. My parents owned some business or something. Not entirely sure but after they died it was given to me. I was then threatened to give them some people the company and in return, they would give me a billion dollars. I couldn’t exactly refuse and so I agreed. Late I found out that it was worth a lot more than a billion dollars. That’s mostly why I want to find who killed my parents because it wasn’t the company who took over my parent’s business. It was a third party and I wanted to find out who cheated me. Nobody cheats me and gets away with it if I can say otherwise.
I still loved my parents but I’m not one to cry over spilled milk. Unless they tried to cheat me out of what was mine more than once. It wouldn’t matter if it was something little but it wasn’t. They walked over me too many times for me not to care. Well back to my status
It seems that my title also has a little description
Noob: You are inexperienced and a complete rookie. A lot of potential but not a lot of experience.
A 100% increase in XP for not even playing the game for a year.
That was a nice bonus. Well, that should be all there is to it. That was probably a good thing for me.
That leaves the bloody tutorial. I’ve heard many things about it; something about frustration and suffering. Seems like a big no-no to me.
“Tutorial.”
Processing.
Complete.
Warping to the tutorial. Please note that you can not die and no negative effects will affect you. You will learn about your class but not more about The Server itself. Good luck!
By completing the tutorial you will gain the following awards
+ 5 to all stats.
A class specific item.
Warping to tutorial
Everything just went black for a second then white. Another white room. Or the same one? Can’t really tell because it’s hard to spot the difference in this room compared to the last one. I think this one is a bit whiter? Not sure.
Hey, a door! That wasn’t there before. Guess I’ll walk through it.
Joey approached the door and opened it.
Welcome to the Tutorial
You are in control of a dungeon and it is under attack by different lifeforms! These lifeforms originate from space. Remember, space bandits and other people aren’t your only threat. There can be creatures on your planet that you inhabit or even creatures from space that will threaten your very dungeon! (Note that any dangerous creature can destroy your dungeon.)
I was in space. Wow. Then the blue notification popped up immediately afterward. Seems like I’m on a very small planet or a very big asteroid. I was in a building currently with a ton of different screens floating in the air. Almost all of them were of the empty space surrounding me. The few screens that didn’t show empty space showed some sort of storage chambers and some parts of the white earth. There were ten of them and each contained either a weird looking energy, a crystal looking object, or blueprints of something on it. Apparently, I was given resources to build this base. What was my end goal anyway?
This part of the tutorial will focus on building on a stable energy supply and building up your Dungeons Defenses. You have three hours to build up your base to defend against a horde of space creatures. The tutorial will officially start in ten minutes.
Great. That seems easy. Just give a complete rookie a bunch of materials to use and hope for the best. I’m warming up to The Server already! What else could make this even better?
Joey was wondering to himself until he looked at his body. Or the lack of one. “What the!?.” Joey half screamed to himself. He had a reason to because his body wasn’t the usual big and heavy person but blood colored crystal ball. It was the size of a tennis ball and looked very shiny.
After calming done after his initial shock, Joey calmed down and assessed his situation. This explained why his status screen was the way it was considering he didn’t have a legitimate body. It seemed that his ‘soul’ was floating around observing everything while what was probably the Dungeon core was just sitting there. The crystal had to be the Dungeon core after all. It didn’t move away from me until I tried going to another room, which I couldn’t test yet. No idea how the core followed me through the door in the first place considering that the door just up and vanished. The way I came in was now a normal wall as far as I can tell.
Not even ten seconds after the last two messages a third one popped up. It seemed each message was sent every ten seconds or so.
Artificial Intelligence detected on Person.
Artificial Intelligence requesting to be connected to users Viral Pod.
Accept?
“What the heck a Viral po-”
Joey was asking when mid-sentence a phone sized device appeared in his right hand.
That answered one question. The other question pertained to the AI. Although it was probably Alex so I shouldn’t worry too much.
“Accept.”
The AI has been transferred to your Viral Pod. Do you want to connect your Viral pod to the Dungeon core temporarily to allow your AI to have access to the Dungeon?
“Accept.”
Obviously, he would want Alex to help him. He didn’t program Alex for anything other than programming, strategy, and hacking. The last one I usually did myself but had Alex sort out most of the calculations and processing.
“Hey Joey! Can you hear me?”
Alex seemed to be using a speaker that was somewhere in the Viral Pod to communicate with Joey. Wonder how it can be so clear even though the microphone is so small.
“Loud and clear. Can you connect with my concise to speed up communications or not?”
“I will be able to eventually it seems but not right now. It seems that it is a later upgrade that requires something in order for me to do that.” Alex responded.
“Great… Well, it looks like it’s time for us to kill some space monsters. Speaking of which, why isn’t the system telling me anything else?” Joey asked.
“If you want to know any information please ask me. The system downloaded the information to your Viral Pod and I have all access to your VP’s database. Ready to start?”
“Let’s start quickly. Time’s a wastin!”
