Chapter 4

Every king needs loyal subjects.

 Day 11

  My body is still aching from yesterday... let me tell you something, fly is harder than you think! Maintain balance was easy, but trying to do that chasing something, not so much, it seems that my lizard form is better for flight, it's long body seems to be able to reach higher speeds and be easier to make manouvers. In the beggining it seemed easy, but being overconfident and trying to chase a bat is not a good idea. The walls here don't taste good.

  Another thing that I noticed was that this cave don't seem to have any intteligent life form, the little lizards were able to speak and I was able to learn a canine language after eating the wolves, but the bat's dosn't seem to be able to comunicate with other species or with themselves, if they could, I'd be able to understand them after eating some of them and learning the skill. It also isn't by echolocation, as I have the skill, if they could talk using it, I would know.Maybe.

  After that I reached a conclusion, I want to get out of this cave. I don't have found anything worth of wasting time here, I used echolocation and haven't found nothing out of the ordinary, if there was a gap in the walls I'd be able to sense them, there were only two alternatives, trying to explore the deeps of the underground lake or trying to fight the bear, if there was any passage that I could be use in the underground lake, it would be my ticket for freedom, but the problem is, I don't know how long it would take to find the exit, the second choice sounded as something only a retard would do, but it's better than drowing in the lake, so I choose the bear.

  It seemed asleep, but I knew better than trying to poke it right at the face. I saw what it did with that wolf, I don't want to become bear food.

  As I got nearer the room where I saw the bear last time I heard sounds of a battle. I could hear the sounds of explosions, the sonds of war cries, the sound of metal beeing crushed, the sounds of men dying in agony. And one of the most terrifings roar I ever heard.

- GET OUT OF MY CAVE!

  I was stunned for a second, as soon as I got back to normal I flew as fast as I could to see what was happening, against the wolves it didn't even tried, but wath kind of enemy could make such beast show this amount of anger and bloodlust?

  What I saw shocked me. The floor of that small cave was full of mangled corpses, almost all of them were mangled beyond recognition, with their insides torn of their bodies, bones outside their bodies and blood spilled everywhere.

  The worst part was that they were humans, if I could guess right, there were about one hundread living humans, each second there were less of them alive, and more joining the dead in the floor, the bear wasn't in a good condition either, it's thick fur was ragged with swords, axes and spears penetrating his flesh.

  In the human ranks there were knights in plate armor and with big shields in the front, behind them were mages shooting fire speels at the bear, and behind the mages were priests, healing their injured knights, but they didn't seem to have any more breath anymore, all of them were exausted, except for one, a fat man mounted on a big horse, he were expensive clothes and his expression disgusted me. He looked like he was watching a show, he was enjoing the spectacle. Near the fat man were a group of bodyguards, they looked strong, their armor was a step above from the knights in the front row.

  Then I looked at the bear, a majestic creature reduced to such a state was something I couldn't admit, as I observed the situation, the humans seemed to have the winning hand. The bear looked like he only continued by his sheer willpower, that's when I decided to intervent, with light magic I healed the bear wounds, the humans were so shocked to see the bears wounds recovering that they didn't saw me flying as fast as I could with the help of wind magic, I rammed the priests in the last row, trowing spikes everywhere then I looked at the fat man, his face was contorted with anger, he looked at me as if I had interrupted the best part of the show. I jumped at the fat man, but a fireball hit me at my right side, it didn't hurt me, but it angered, angered me as hell that that fat pile of shit was alive, I had seen these tipes before in my last life, the ones with the sadistic smiles and the face that seemed like he was the puppeter and the others were just toys. I was killed by people with such look in their faces.

  As I remembered the death that took me a few days ago,my anger took over. I could hear faint crack that my body made, my muscles bulked as I was ready to charge at the fat man.

  I tried to stab him with my horns, but one of his bodyguards jumped in front of me. I hit his shield and to my surprise, the shield was bend and my horns had pierced his chest armor, but still, it made me angrier. The sound of crack became stronger at each second, the bodyguards faces showed fear, not only at the big lizard that destroyed a men in full armor as it was nothing, they were looking at my horns. The cracking sound I heard before was lightning magic charging. I didn't have full control of my magic yet, but I didn't expect it would activate itself.

As I though that, a big yellow lightining gone straight at the bodyguards metal armor, as metal is a conductor, all of them were affected by such attack, I didn't pay attention to them. My target is other.

  The fat mans faced showed surprise, and then fear, he made his horse run back, probably to the way they came from.

  No way in hell I would let that happens!

  I trowed spikes as fast as I could, till I hit the horse's leg. The horse fell on the floor together with the fat man, the fat man was rolling over the floor. Then he looked at me, I was aproching him slowly, I wanted to apreciate the moment as much as I could. The fat man looked with fear at me, screaming and crying, I didn't understand what he said, but he must be begging for his life. His back hit a tree, he didn't have anywhere to run. I was only ten meters away from him, coming closer at each second. The fat man pissed in his pants, the smell of urine mixed with blood and burned flesh in the air made me sick.

  I was right at the front of the fat men, I could feel his disgusting breath right at my face, he was screaming more than a scared child, I wouldn't let it finish so fast, I want to make it slowly... with my front claw I ripped his hand off, after that u burned it with fire magic so that he won't die of blood loss, after that I did the same with his arms, feet and legs, whenever he fainted I used water magic with weak lightning magic to make him wake up, only to feel suffer and faint again. His scream now were getting in my nerves, so I bit his shoulder, putting a slow acting poison in his body, to let him agonizate to death.

  Them I remembered, the bear! I forgot about everything, even the sound of the battle couldn't reach my ears as I was making that bastard pay.

I looked toward were I saw the bear last time only to see it looking at me, with the corpses of the knights and mages near his feet.

  After I trowed my spikes to kill as many priests as I could, and a few mages nearby, the knights couldn't hold the bear anymore, thinking better, they didn't look like knights, more like mercenaries. Aniway, it seemed that the they couldn't stand against the bear after their support was killed.

  After that it was an easy victory to the bear.

  I liked his way, he didn't attack me, even when he could kill me easily behind my back.

  The bear saw me walking his way, my black scales covered in human blood refleting the sunlight, if any human saw me now, they would be running away for their lives.

  -I owe you my life, lizard, what is your name?

  Then it came to me, he spoke canine language, I once readed about the evolution of a race of dog that evolved to bears, but I didn't think he would use that language, it helps me a lot to don't have to eat a bear to speak with it. It must be at least a little bit intelligent being to be able to speak.

  -My name is Iki, and yours?

 -Relog, the brown. I have never seen you here before, where did you come from?

  In the middle of all that confusion I didn't pay attention to where we were. Everything around was covered in snow, the trees seemed like pines and from where we stood, I could see mountains, maybe a few days away at walking speed.I don't know how big is this forest but I notice something strange, I don't have any fur but it's not cold... maybe my specie isn't cold blooded.

  -We are in a forest, this part of it is my territory, in that direction stays the Grey Wolf territory, in that is the territory of the territory of the Black Boar and there, there is the Snow Leopard territory, it's the biggest one, he lives in that mountain far away.

  Only after I was full and those tables appeared I came to myself, now that I ate those humans, there's no coming back... I wanted to throw up,but I knew that I coudn't do that. If I did, all those skills that I gained would be to waste.

  He charged at me again this time, I used water magic to throw water at him and at the ground, after adquiring external mana control, it seems that I can make more complex movements.

  After that I jumped in the air, and with my wings I flew were he couldn't reach. Then I charged and threw lightining magic in him. It was super effective! He became paralized by my attack, after that I changed my form. He looked at me with surprise, but didn't have much time to think about it.

  I dived towards his face and gave him th strongest puch I could! I swear that I heard bones breaking, what the hell is his head made of?! The bones on one of my right hands were shattered! He wasn't better either, he gone straight to the floor, but it wasn't over, he tried to slash at me with his claws, but I jumped back, his claws were strong even when he was half councious.

 With haste, I used healing magic in my hand and flew again. I used lightning magic again before he could stand and flew at him again, this time aiming at the ribs, broke almos all of them, not to the extent that it could pierce his lung, but enough to debilitate him.

  -STOP CHEATING AND FIGHT FAIR!

  -I'm not cheating, but if you want, so be it!

  I stood a few meters in front of him, we glared at each other, ready to charge at any second. I don't know if it will be sucessfull, but I will try anyway, using all my strenght in my legs, I began to push him, we were shoulder to shoulder, no one was moving, but I knew that soon I would be overhelmed soon in a battle of strenght, so I jumped at his back and used a hadaka jime(rear naked choke) at his neck, it was a move that I knew very well from the years of martial arts that I did, I used two of my arms in to hold his neck, and the other four to hold his arms, with my legs, I pressed his ribs, so that he couldn't build up strenght to fight back.

  He couldn't get of it, so he stood in his two legs and tried to free his arms, when he stood I saw how huge he was, if standing at four legs he was at 5m tall, in two he is at 8. Trully a giant.

  When he saw he couldn't hold for much anymore, he fell in his back, trying to smash me in the ground. I could hear my ribs and wings breaking at the impact, his wheight is no joke. But I won't give in, mustering the rest of my strenght I holded him while he fainted.

  Trowing his huge body off me, I stood up, my bones shaterred, but I won! I didn't kill him, I will need him after all. But then the idea came to me, I used a healing magic to heal my bones, they suffered enough, poor wings of mine . ;-;

  I picked up the leg armor of one of the bodyguards and put in me, I can't continue with my dicks being in contact with this cold snow. And picked up a few weapons, four swords and a spear will be my weapons in the next fight. I also picked a knife in the body of the fat guy, it looked sharp. He also had a pouch of good coins, a few expensive looking rings and an emblem, like those that nobility used, a house crest. It had a crow holding a bag of coins in it.

  If he's from nobility, there will be more coming to slay the beast that killed one of them, I will have to prepare myself.

  I reached near Relog's body, then I cut a chunk of meat from his arm, I don't know what will I gain if I eat it, but it's worth a try.

  The smell was a bit strange, but the meat, it was delicious, I take back my word about humans being the most delicious dish I ever ate, it's bear! I wonder if I will get more of it later.

  Then I used healing magic in Relog and dragged him to the cave. Who knows if there is anithing dangerous out there?

  After that I used water magic to wash away the corpses in the cave and collapsed of exaustion, it was a geat day.
