Shall our blood stain the wall?

Shall our blood stain the wall?

During the conflict between Satoya, Sendo, and Yurina, the group alongside Juliet, across the entire laboratory from them, was still wandering around having light hearted conversations. Juliet and Rayna were still discussing clothing brands, Edward was looking into every room they came across, with Sakonori and Johnathan curiously peeking in before becoming disgusted from the rotted corpses of people who unfortunately couldn’t escape the grasp of Roland, and the putrid stench of blood and rotting flesh..

“Oh, did you guys realize? This lab actually seems to be more of an abandoned military laboratory.” Juliet pointed out suddenly to the group, with the group looking at each other, with Rayna replying with, “so?”

“That means, there is most likely a crap ton of explosives stored deep below this lab, but from looking at the lab itself, I doubt the explosives are usable.” Juliet continued before the group nodded in intrigue.

A couple minutes after that fact, continued the laughter of Rayna and Juliet, Isaac realized something, as he was the only one bored out of his mind aimlessly punching holes in the wall. “Huh… I punched these holes not even five minutes ago, but why do they look so familiar?” He thought as he wandered behind the group. There was a certain, ‘odd’ feeling gnawing at Isaac, but he couldn’t wrap his head around it.

Eventually Sakonori caught on to what Isaac was thinking, “I feel like I just saw these holes Isaac left behind a couple seconds before.” She thought casually, before scratching her chin, then asking.

“Are we lost?”

The group turned to look at Sakonori, just as Isaac, oblivious to the question, pulled his fist back to punch another hole. Juliet paused, her eyebrows furrowed, she quickly scanned the walls, then noticed the aligned holes in the wall. “Wait…I think we are,” She said, the group turned to face her, before a deep silence ensued.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Edward exhaled in frustration. “Welp, we’re lost.” The group exchanged looks of disbelief before they all nodded reluctantly. “Isaac, just keep punching the wall. Maybe you’ll find a way out.” Isaac didn’t seem to mind, already winding up for another swing.

“What the hell was that?” Johnathan grunted, catching his balance as the floor trembled beneath their feet. The wall shuddered violently as a concentrated blast of condensed water erupted from behind them, like a massive cannon shot.

“Akemi?” Juliet’s voice broke through the chaos just as a figure with blonde hair, wearing a lab coat, leapt through the gaping hole left by the blast. The man’s eyes locked with the group for a fraction of a second before he turned and sprinted the other way.

Juliet immediately realized who he was, and shouted, “Roland!” Before unsheathing her rapier then swung upward sending a wave of frost toward Roland, encasing his legs in frost. Isaac, reacting faster than anyone, broke into a full sprint, his muscles coiling as he launched himself into the air behind Roland.

Roland spun around just in time, only to be immediately drop-kicked by Isaac, the force sent him tumbling through the hallway and crashing against the wall. He was noticeably injured, with Akemi running through another hallway into the same one they are, she sighed in relief. “Finally that bastard was caught.” She gasped in exhaustion.

While the group focused on Akemi’s arrival, Roland grinned wickedly. With a swift motion, he pulled a smoke grenade from his lab coat’s pocket, slamming it against the floor. Within seconds, the hallway was swallowed by thick, suffocating smoke, with them all retreating away from the fog.

“We lost him?!” Juliet and Akemi shouted in unison, charging into the fading smoke, they looked around, urgently, before seeing a trail of blood. “That musclehead actually did some damage,” Akemi commented between coughs. “Roland’s bleeding.” Isaac raised an eyebrow, confused if she’d just insulted him.

“We need to hurry!” Akemi exclaimed as they all sprinted, following the blood trail left by Roland, then barged into a large experiment chamber. The size of the chamber was similar to that of a high school gym, the walls are completely white, with the floors also being the same color.

Roland stood across the room, his eyes cold as the blood trail abruptly stopped in front of him. It was clear that he had already recovered, though how remained a mystery. He then picked up a rifle, this rifle was the exact same as the one carried by the soldiers that came to the lab alongside the group, Akemi, and Juliet.

“Now then, let us stain these walls with our blood.” Roland with a detached smile as he aimed the rifle toward them.
