24.5) Endgame

Three things I learned about the leader of the Ifrit. One, I was never going to be able to pronounce his name. But he seemed to accept just being called Mayor. Two, him and the caretaker of the tabernacle did not get along. When the caretaker began loudly protesting letting me into the heart of the tabernacle, a sort of shrine to their patron goddess and the founder of their town, the Mayor just had him carried out and held down on a bench outside.

Three, he had been given a class called "Taster of lies." which is why I had been able to convince him that everything I had told him was true. Which then led me to claiming the Tabernacle.

You have claimed the Tabernacle of Poalandrin

Sanctity Rank 4

The two-foot tall naked white skinned Ifrit with hair made out of flames which rose up from the brazier which served as their version of a alter cause a bit of excitement. But explaining that her appearance was to honor their goddess in the same way the carving of her on the tabernacle's door did, instead of being a blasphemy, was able to calm them down.

As were her assurances that her greatest purpose was to serve as a guardian against any abuse of my powers against the Ifrit.

The Mayor got a bit of a sour look on his face right then. Like he had tasted something not to his liking, but he let her statement go without protest.

Then, one by one, he had his closest and most loyal swear to become residents of the safe zone, instead of having them wait until the next start of the day cycle to become so automatically.

Things were a little time sensitive here.

It only took thirty-four of them for the combined total populations of my Sanctified areas to pass the one thousand mark. Which instantly extended the holy ground area out to ten thousand feet in all directions around the Ifrit village and the Pastoria.

Which put all the demons who had attacked my home abruptly on Holy ground. A bit anticlimactic, but that was all it took

You have disembodied 913 demons.

You have earned 913 Grace.

You are now level 5

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

You may only gain 1 level per day.

908 Grace held in reserve.

The Director- We really don't have anything prepared for anyone to go pass level 5 at the moment. We're on it, but the Murphy limit has been imposed to buy us some time.

Genre- I got him to name it after you.

Hashtag- Dude! Limit break! You are a rockstar!

"I understand, but I shouldn't get all these point on my own. A lot of people took the risk of getting hurt heading out to that fight. They should get something."

You have received 3 Grace for your efforts in destroying the Skystrike horde.

Your Grace has been added to you reserve.

You're welcome.

Secretary Prima- This award was given to all of those who participated in that fight.

Good, everyone who went out this morning deserved it. "Thanks."

You have received a class ability for your 5th level.

Ecclesiastical Fief

This ability functions like the Founder ability, except you are limited to building on holy ground.

Each day you gain building point equal to your Sanctity rank.

You may also convert Grace point to build points at a 1 for 10 ratio.

Please access your holy site interface to open your build menu.

"Well, since I'm right in front of one now..." I nodded at the interface. "If it's okay with you, I'm going to call you Alandri." She smiled and nodded. "Please open the build menu Alandri."

The menu had options to build housing, farms, businesses, and one special blueprint.

St Kentigern's Catholic Church.

Resources needed: 18 build points. 320 stone. 180 wood. + (see full list )

Insufficient resources

Use 6 build points to substitute +

Build time: 8 days

Use 3 built points for instant build +

I grinned to myself. "Looks like I got a place to go home to after all." I spent the one point of Grace to get the built points to rebuild the church in an instant. I figured it would be even better than setting off a flare to let everyone know I was alright.

I turned to head out of the tabernacle. I had a lot of things to get done today. Contact the Pastoria, find out who survived and start to plan out the future. But I got one last message before I could even get out the door.

Maybe finish leveling up first for once?

We'll talk soon.
