Sitting on the luxurious beds inside the guest room, everyone was staring intensely at their own weapon as they went over its description.

The sun outside the window had already set before I even noticed.

That was how focused everyone was at reading the descriptions.

unlike regular weapons, the legendary weapons didn't require routine maintenance.

Based on the owner's mastery and skill level, the weapon will obtain and unlock new hidden skills for the owner to use. It also seems that the higher the skill mastery the lower the energy spent on using the skills and the more damage the skill gives .

I clicked on my Weapon Icon which opened up the Weapon Manual.

Legendary Knuckle Mastery Beginner Lv 1 (Passive) Adds +5 minimum Damage and 10 max damage.

Charging Strike Beginner Lv 1 almost instantly rush towards your enemy and deliver a powerful blow. Damage 200%

Seems like the only active offensive skill I can use at the moment is Charging Strike. it skill enables me strike my enemy while closing in on them almost instantly and land a single powerful strike.

I also began to notice that this world and the other 4 heros names sounded familiar especially This Guy named Naofumi for some reason.

{Sheild…Naofumi….Iwatani Naofumi…where have I heard that name from…}

While I and the other 3 heroes were in deep though, Noafumi interrupted us.

Naofumi: "Yo, doesn't this all seem pretty game-like?"

We paused with silence for a second at the statement.

"Seriously dude, isn't this an actual game? I've known some which are like this." Motoyasu proudly boasted.

Noafumi: eh!?

Motoyasu: "Are you saying that you don't even know about this famous online game?"

Naofumi: "Well no, but was there a game that even a splendid otaku such as myself didn't know of?"

Motoyasu: "So you scrubs really don't know? This is Emerald Online, man."

Ryuu: "What's that? Never even heard of that one."

Sure back in my would I didn’t have time to play games anymore when I reached the age 16 cause I wanted to focus on my martial arts training. But before that I used to have the time to play a few game here or there. Royal road was one of the main games played in my time and I only played that for a few months.

Motoyasu: "Just how ignorant can you guys be? It's such a famous title too."

Naofumi: "Of course I know games like Odin Online and Fantasy Moon Online, aren't these pretty popular too?!"

Motoyasu:"What are those? This is the first time I've heard of them."

Naofumi/Motoyasu: "Eh!? "

Itsuki: "If I may interject everyone. This world isn't a net game, but more like a console game!"

Motoyasu: "That's wrong, bro. This is a VRMMO, right?"

Itsuki: "Hah? Well for instance, isn't this world similar to games where you click and use a controller to operate?"

"Click? Controller? What kind of retro games are you referring to? Don't people usually mean VRMMO when they say 'net game' these days?" said Motoyasu confused.

Itsuki: "VRMMO? As in Virtual Reality MMO? What kind of sci-fi world setting are you trying to create? Are you daydreaming here?"

Motoyasu: "HUH!? "

A loud sound of disagreement was released.

"Well then... gentlemen, I'd like to ask each of you to name a game from your world which bears the closest resemblance to this one." asked Itsuki with his hand slightly raised.

Ren: "Brave Star Online."

Motoyasu: "Emerald Online."

Ryuu: "Royal Road"

Naofumi: "None. I mean, this is simply a game-like type of world, right?"

Itsuki: "Ah. As for myself, this world is like a console game called Dimension Wave."

A game title which no one else knew of yet again.

"Hold on for a minute, let's reorganize our information." Motoyasu said while putting a hand on his forehead as he tried to calm us down.

Motoyasu: "Tell me what you know about the situation with VRMMO, will you?"

Ren: "It's common where I live."

Ryuu: it’s still fairly newly developed at where I live.

Motoyasu: "Itsuki, Naofumi. What about you guys?"

Itsuki: "If I recall correctly, it only exists in Sci-fi."

Naofumi: "I remember reading about it in a light novel before."

Motoyasu: "Is that so. I suppose I did get that vibe off of you. Then back to you, Ren, what's this Brave Star Online? Is it a VRMMO?"

Ren: "Yeah that's right, VRMMOs are ones like Brave Star Online. It has a world system very similar to this world's setup."

Just for reference, VRMMO involved a technology where one's brain waves were analyzed and deconstructed into data, which allows that person to dive into another world produced by a computer.

Motoyasu: "If that's true then, does that mean the world that you two came from only has retro games like the ones you both mentioned earlier?" He said with his head inclined.

Motoyasu:"Reviewing what I know about gaming history, those type of computer games clearly did exist at one point. But for some reason I don't recognize any of those supposedly famous titles which you guys mentioned."

Motoyasu and Naofumi both nodded.

Ryuu:"Let's try asking a common question. What's the name of the current Prime Minister?"

"Hai hai." Everyone nodded.

Motoyasu: "Let's say it together."

Everyone: ?????????

Besides one These were Prime Ministers I had never even heard of before. It's not the kind of mistake I would ever make in a history class test.

After that we asked about famous internet slang, net pages, and more online games.

And thus, we arrived at the same conclusion of not knowing anyone else's information.

Ren: "Apparently, it seems that we all came from different Japans."

Motoyasu: "Looks that way. You guys definitely didn't come from the same Japan as me."

Itsuki: "This means there's another Japan for each distinctive world."

Naofumi: "There's a high chance that each of them belong in a separate era too, since they don't match each other at all."

Ryuu: "yea seems like it, although Naofumi your prime minister sound familiar. "

Naofumi: ''really!? But I diffidently never heard of yours.''

Ryuu: ''what year was yours elected?''

Naofumi: ''2XXX''

Ryuu: ''ah, I see so me and you are from the same world just from different times. Cause the prime minister you named is an old one elected on the date you just said , so that means am in the future of your world while your in the past of my world.''

''WHAT!?'' Everyone yelled with a shocked expression.

Ryuu: ''maybe that would explain why this situation sound so familiar to me..''

Motoyasu: ''familiar? What do you mean by that?''

Ryuu: ''what I mean is that in my child-hood I believe I heard of a story with people that have the same names as you guys, with the same like fantasy themed as this world.''

Everyone: ''whoa…''

''so does that mean you already know what events are going to take place and what we should do?'' asked Itsuki

now everyone was staring at me like I was some know it all cheat book ready to be used and abused for rapid success.

Ryuu: ''sadly I didn’t actually read the book just that some one told me and my class mates the summary of the story when we were children.''

Ren: ''so what was the book about?''

Ryuu: ''if I remember it was the story of the rising of the shield hero…''

Upon hearing this Naofumi was shocked and bewildered, while the other three looked at him with annoyance and jealousy.

Motoyasu: ''hey! Why only you get a heroic story while the rest of us don’t? I mean really your just have a shield as a weapon after all.''

Naofumi could say or do anything in this satiation after all even he was confused as to why this was happening.

Ryuu: ''if I remember correctly the spear hero does have a long side story of his own telling of his adventures also.''

'Yes!' Said Motoyasu as he pumped his fist

''w-what about us?'' Asked Itsuki as him and Ren looked left out.

Ryuu: ''I honestly have no idea since after all I heard all this when I was younger, plus the story was still on-going. So it very possible that if the author finished the spear heroes story that they would work on the next twos story right?''

Itsuki and Ren both nodded at the claim with satisfaction.

Motoyasu: ''so you and Naofumi are from the same world but just different times, does that mean when this calamity is over Naofumi goes back home and writes about our adventures?''

Ryuu: ''who knows I’m not even sure if it’s really about you guys after all there are a lot of parallel japans so I could be wrong. After all my name wasn’t in the story.''

Ren: ''hmm, sounds complicated.''

Motoyasu: ''well since we have no facts about what you say true, plus the fact that you don’t even remember the story much, it won’t do us any good to continue talking about it.''

"Idle conversation isn't one of my hobbies, but I guess it's necessary for us to obtain information." Said Ren as he awkwardly scratched his nose.

From what Ren said it sounded like he dead before being summoned here…

"I see, a heroic situation where you save your childhood friend." Said Naofumi

"Then I'll go next." Motoyasu pointed at himself and began to speak.

Motoyasu: "For me, it was because I had too many girlfriends.''

Naofumi: ''Yeah yeah, that totally was the case."

So Motoyasu was one of those Guys that pick up and mess around with chicks on a daily basic huh…I think I know how this ends for him…

Motoyasu: "And after doing a bit of this and that..."

"Did you get stabbed for two-timing or three-timing?" Ren asked with a straight face.

Motoyasu's eyes blinked with surprise before he gave a small nod.

Motoyasu: "Man... Girls are really scary, aren't they?"

"GOD DAMN IT!" yelled with anger, while he shoved his middle finger into his face.

My suspicions were correct it seems.

Itsuki: "I guess it's my turn now. When I was crossing the street on my way home from cram school... a dump truck took a sharp corner turn. And afterwards..."

Everyone: ''……….''

In all likelihood he was run over...

So far the theme for being summoned here is that you had to have dead in your previous world. I was starting to think I might have been the only one who was still alive from my previous world.

Naofumi: "Um... Do I absolutely have to recount my story on what happened before I came to this world?"

Motoyasu: "Well duh, we already told you ours."

Next was Naofumi’s turn I began to wonder what kind of tragic end he had to endure, especially since he seems like the most excited about our situation.

"I suppose so. Sorry to say, guys. But as far as I remember, all I was doing was reading a suspicious book inside the library." Said Naofumi Nervously.

Everyone: ''.......''

I was shocked and somewhat happy I wasn’t the only one alive from my previous world, I was going to feel like the out man out if I was. But I began to notice the other three now giving Naofumi cold glares and began to secretly whisper among each other.

Feeling like he was on the spot Naofumi quickly tried to change the subject.

Naofumi: ''r-right, so Ryuu-san who about you? What where you doing before being summoned here.''

The other three stopped their secret whispering to listen, after all I was the more physically fight and experienced fighter he. I guess they must have though I was one of them and though I might have dead while heroically fighting a gang of delinquents or something.

Ryuu: ''I was getting ready for my morning shower and I heard a book fall off from on of our hallway book shelves and read it out of boredom and next thing I know I was here.

Unlike Naofumi though I said my story with confidence, people take advantage and manipulate people that do not have confidence In themselves. Though I seriously don’t think these three have the balls to talk about me in my face while I’m here.''

Other three: ''…...''

From the looks on there faces I could tell they were having mixed emotions about how to think about me, unlike Naofumi I was a combat focus hero like them but I could tell they were a bit jealous I was also alive before being summoned to this world, like naofumi.

Ryuu: ''Tsk, enough of this in the end we are all here and alive although you three might have had something tragic to happen to you in the end you were blessed and sent to this world with a new chance, so let’s forget what happened to us before getting here and work hard for a better future.''

The other three: ''!!!''

The three were shocked at my straight forward feelings to their situation. After thinking to themselves for a bit the all resolved themselves and nodded.

Ren: ''Right''

Motoyasu: ''well I do have to admit this world is a lot more interesting than our previous world, not to mention this world females are literally out of this world haha…''

Everyone couldn’t help but look at Motoyasu with pity

Itsuki: ''your right Ryuu-san, this is our second chance let do all that we can to succeed.''

Naofumi: ''Alright! let’s do this!''

With that we became brothers in arm, the 5 great heroes destined to save this world.

Motoyasu: ''so… anything else we should discuss about?''

Naofumi: ''w-well, Can you guys teach me how to fight and stuff? Since my world didn't have this kind of game after all."

Motoyasu: "Alright, Motoyasu onii-san here will teach you the very basics at least. So first, according to my knowledge from Emerald Online, Shields...people who use shields as their main weapon are usually..."

Naofumi: ''yeah?''

Motoyasu: "First of all, you have high defense. Secondly, even though your defense is high, if you keep on taking damage like an idiot, you'll die."

Naofumi: "Okay..."

Motoyasu: ''and uuuh....hmm...''

Motoyasu was in deep though trying to think up any useful information he could give to help Naofumi but I guess it was all for not.

Motoyasu: ''sorry man I don't know much about the classes usefulness in my world its pretty much a loser class that no one uses.''

''WHAT!? NOOOOOOOOOO!'' yelled Naofumi in panic

Naofumi: ''w-wait, an Update! Shouldn't there be a patch update?!"

Motoyasu: "Nope, it's a totally pitiful class when pitted against Bosses and even common mobs. That's why they just leave it alone. And also, there was that class-abolishing decision..."

Naofumi: "Aren't there job upgrades?!"

Motoyasu: "Perhaps that only happens when you die?"

Naofumi: "Then how about a job change option?!"

Motoyasu: "You can't change to another class skill tree anyways, right?"

Naofumi glared at his shield as he thought.

Naofumi:"How about with you guys?"

Both of them nerviously averted their eyes.

Ren: "Sorry..."

Itsuki: "Same here..."

Naofumi began to look like all hope was lost for him. I on the other hand was confused at the situation, I mean sure shield are mainly a defensive weapon. but the weapon and class were useless in their worlds? there game developers must suck or the players are just noobs, like really...

Ryuu: *sigh* ''are you guys serious? shields user are useless in you worlds games?....pathetic.''

the other three: ''HAH!?''

Ryuu: ''listen in my world when I did have time to play game, any weapon the player used was useful in a way it all depended on the skills the user obtains and the natural fighting talent the use has. I mean really don't you guys have Tanks in your world.''

the other three: ''Tanks!?''

Ryuu: {whoa!...are you serious...}

I might not play games as much as I used to but even I know what a tank is.

Motoyasu: ''that sounds kinda familiar...''

Ren: ''yea I think I heard about that play style too but it was back in the days of retro-style games.''

Itsuki: ''actually I hear it all the time from PC elites on web game but am a console gamer.''

I guess since Motoyasu and ren are from a more advance world of VRMMO most people focus on being the best and go for offensive classes, while Itsuki plays games that focus on a single player experience. I couldn't help but let out an other sigh of frustration.

Ryuu: ''Listen from were am from shield user are pretty reliable players that focus on healing, defending and buffing the party. they also have very powerful countering type skills that deal a lot of recoil damage back at enemy's. so yea it depends on how you branch out and use your skills I guess. plus naofumi just like the rest of us your no regular shield user your a Legendary shield hero remember that.''

after hearing my claim Naofumi seemed to  calmed down and was now hopeful about his situation.

Ren: hmm, ''I never thought about it that way...''

Motoyasu: ''yea, if you think about it that way the shield actually sounds pretty useful.''

Itsuki: ''it really does, well anyways good-luck Naofumi-san.''

Naofumi: ''thanks guys''

I'm glad my explanation stopped them from looking down on poor Naofumi-san. but now one thing was left on my mind that I was curious about.

Knight: "Brave Heroes, your meals have been prepared."

The other Four: ''sweet!''

they began to get up to follow the Knight.

Ryuu: ''Guys Wait a second.''

Everyone:huh!?

Ryuu: ''come this way there's something I wanna test out before be we go.''
