“We have business to do, what could possibly be more important than to getting this shit together?” A well-dressed and groomed man about six foot seven groaned as he leaned his tailored navy suit against the railing of the wall. The Cartel had a joint heist to discuss with their American allies. However, as one could tell from the etched irritation lines spawning above his eyebrows, this man in particular was going to have some choice words regarding it.
“C’mon Gabe, cut the Yankees some slack. The Super Bowl just happened, maybe they forgot?” An underling said who had their chair tilted almost all the way back, to levels of potentially falling on their back. But they seem skilled in the art of not looking like a total fool in that regard.
“The Super Bowl has been hyped for how long? They could have rescheduled this meeting.” Reaching inside his blazer’s pocket, he retrieved his smokes and proceeded to smoke in irritation, in hopes that it would calm him down. The Capo will not be pleased that their allies are on their usual bullshit, but in all fairness, it’s a give and take considering the Mexican Cartel have done this to them. Less in the more recent years, but still the same. Blowing each other off to enjoy their respective entertainments. Despite the Cartel’s chaotic-chaotic behavior, at least their preferred times to not work were scheduled.
Rolling his eyes further at the sentiment, his phone vibrated in his front pocket. Taking a considerable drag on his cigarette, before he checked the caller idea to see his lover’s dazzling face post lovemaking and her languid smile. His irritation melted almost immediately, but still in the back of his mind, “Well hello there my beautiful Queen,” His voice suave but his eyes were dreamy. “how are you on this pleasant day?”
His subordinate was making goo-goo eyes and cooing to mock their Right Hand, but they were promptly ignored when Gabe walked away and out to the nearest open window.
“It sounds as though the Americans didn’t show up as planned? I told you that they were not going to be there.” A suppressed Latina accent and proper English filling his ears. The tone was chastising at most.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“You too good to speak Spanish?” He teases, he knows where she is. The woman that is enigmatic to most, but not to him. Not anymore. “Besides, I don’t remember you telling me anything.”
“That is simply because you were more interested in the other topic of conversation I brought up at the time.” Oh, he remembers now. Well, with a woman like Xiomara Milan, one would forget the important details. Curse him for being distracted that one time. He sighs out in exaggerated romance and not frustration. During this, he waved his hand dismissively, even though she cannot see it. However, it is not hard to envision such a gesture when they have been around them for so long.
“Well, I recall that there were more pressing matters to attend to.” He purrs affectionately in her ear. Visualizing her with her arms crossed, a devilish smirk and her dark eyes being rolled at him. This woman has brought out the lover in him. So much for being a serious operative.
“Gabriel.”
“Mm, roll that ‘r’ like that again.” His husky voice sung flirtatiously to her.
“You know, the Boss isn’t going to be too happy about this.” Effortlessly changing the subject, his business-oriented Queen would surely snap him back to his senses. When the reality hit him, he took a long-deserved drag on his neglected cigarette. Exhaling through his nose, almost metaphoric of his impeding anger.
“I know, I know. I wouldn’t be surprised if even he knew about it.” His tone slowly reverted back into his earlier disgruntled tone.
“Well, you will be delighted to know that the Boss is smart and keeps up with American happenings.” Gabriel heard a sigh, she must be relaxing and winding down for the day. He still had other business to attend to later and people to hunt that weren’t doing what they should pertaining to their debt.
“And that he will not fault you for your poor information retention. He knows you’re a simple man.” Cheeky one, she was.
“I must be simple if you’re the only one to turn me like this,” Crushing the cigarette in the nearest tray, he continued, “Speaking of, are we still on for later on tonight?” After the erasure of some human life and tormenting the delinquents in question, he had a date to go on later.
“Of course, I endeavor to make you feel better for not listening to me.” A muted chuckle was heard, he couldn’t resist having a smoldering look in his azure eyes again.
“Oh?”
“I will make sure to lick your wounds, as long as you’re licking me, Gabriel.” A sharp jolt went up his spine as he felt the goosebumps appear. Lord have mercy on him, he is undeserving of such a blessing.
