...

"This... isn't appropriate?" Ning Fan said with a dry laugh.

"There's nothing inappropriate about it. It's decided," Wen Cai patted Ning Fan's shoulder. "Sister trusts you."

"No, Sister Cai, this has nothing to do with trust!" Ning Fan became anxious. "I'm not a Monitor, I just gave you a heads up. Why am I suddenly responsible? Besides, there's no benefit for me in this! Whether he comes or not, I'm the one who loses!"

"Weren't you quite confident just now?" Wen Cai smirked.

Just as Ning Fan was about to speak, Wen Cai added, "When we catch him, you get to interrogate him first."

Ning Fan's heart skipped a beat.

Interrogate first!

He desperately needed this opportunity!

At the very least, he needed to pry out Brother Chuan's whereabouts from Su Bei's mouth!

Wait a minute!

How did Wen Cai know that I wanted to interrogate him?

What exactly does this woman know?

"So, do you agree?" Wen Cai asked softly.

Ning Fan stared at Wen Cai for a while.

At least for now, Wen Cai didn't seem to have any hostility.

If she hadn't actively proposed to capture Su Bei, he could have safely left this place by now.

"I agree," Ning Fan answered decisively. "But I have one more condition."

"Kids are so troublesome, always making demands of adults," Wen Cai tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Go on."

...

When Wen Cai led Ning Fan out of the room and into the Monitors' office hall, many people looked over curiously.

This guy actually came out unscathed?

"Captain Wen, he..." The tall, thin man from before stood up with a puzzled expression.

"You just stay put for now," Wen Cai waved her hand, interrupting him.

The tall, thin man immediately fell silent.

Wen Cai clapped her hands a few times, attracting everyone's attention.

"I want to tell everyone something. Regarding Su Bei using his Soul Servant to kill someone in the district today, I have a new idea." Wen Cai pulled Ning Fan in front of her, placing both hands on his shoulders. "To be precise, this kid has a good idea!"

"So, for the next three days, this kid will be in charge of directing the Monitors' work! Including me, everyone must follow his arrangements!"

"However, this is also within reasonable limits! If his requests violate regulations, you can report to me, and I will give my opinion as appropriate."

"Everyone, do you understand?"

The crowd was stunned.

Wasn't this kid just brought back under arrest?

How did he suddenly become the commander-in-chief?

"But, Captain Wen, this..." The tall, thin man clearly couldn't accept it.

"Oh right, Li Hui, there's something else I need to tell you," Wen Cai looked at the tall, thin man. "I heard you kicked this kid earlier?"

The tall man called Li Hui was slightly taken aback, but quickly justified himself, "This kid was too arrogant earlier, so to make him behave, I..."

"Just answer, did you kick him or not?"

"I... I did..."

"Alright," Wen Cai said calmly. "I promised this kid that if he can catch Su Bei, he gets to return that kick."

Li Hui glared angrily at Ning Fan.

Ning Fan looked back at him calmly.

This was the condition he had just proposed to Wen Cai.

He hadn't forgotten about Li Hui's kick.

"Fine, you little brat! If you really have the ability to catch Su Bei, so what if I let you kick me once?" Li Hui sneered.

"What did you say earlier at the district wall? Don't let me get my hands on you, right?" Ning Fan smiled. "So now, doesn't this count as you falling into my hands?"

...

Outside F27 District, in the Misty Forest.

Puff... Puff puff puff...

After a series of sounds, the blonde Su Bei stood up, leaning against a tree, his face a bit pale.

"Damn it! That Courage Crystal was really rotten!" Su Bei grumbled. "I knew it wasn't worth two thousand! Fucking swindlers! Damn it!"

Ring ring ring.

The phone rang, and Su Bei took out his mobile phone. Seeing the number on the screen, his brow furrowed even more.

But he still answered it.

"Young Master, this is Ye Liang."

"I know, spit it out."

"There's an important matter at home recently. Master Su asked me to bring you back."

"Not going back."

"Young Master..."

"Stop wasting words! If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up!"

"Master Su said if you don't come back, he'll kill your mother."

"..."

A gloomy look flashed in Su Bei's eyes.

"Young Master, I think... your father is not joking."

"I'll be back within three days," Su Bei interrupted Ye Liang. "Tell that old bastard, if he dares to touch my mom, I'll finish him off."

"Alright, I'll relay the message."

Ye Liang paused for a moment. "Young Master, my advice is that you should set off as soon as possible."

"I don't need you to manage me! I said three days means three days!" Su Bei said impatiently. "I'll come back after I've killed everyone I need to kill!"

"Kill people?"

"Hanging up!"

Su Bei hung up the phone, a sickly flush appearing on his face.

"Oh my! I'm so angry! I really want to kill someone..."

At this moment, a golden light emanated from the ring on Su Bei's finger...

...

"What did you say?! Why didn't you tell me earlier?" In the hall, Ning Fan excitedly questioned Wen Cai. "Even Monitors can't use Soul Servants within the district? How can we possibly catch Su Bei then?"

"You were so confident earlier, I thought you already knew!" Wen Cai, wearing the Monitor's uniform, leaned back in her office chair, her beautiful legs propped up on the desk in front of her.

Ning Fan was cursing inwardly.

This woman must have done this on purpose.

She had already put him in this position, and only now did she tell him that the rule prohibiting the use of Soul Servants within the district applied to Monitors as well!

Su Bei was at least at the [Hundred Souls Level]. How could they possibly catch him without using Soul Servants?

"Relax! We have other means," Wen Cai said with a smile. "Spirit Suppressor, a high-tech gadget. Ever heard of it?"

As Wen Cai explained, Ning Fan's eyes were opened to new possibilities.

The Spirit Suppressor was a high-tech device produced by the research institute. Almost all of its components were salvaged from the [Gifted Path].

This device was divided into four parts.

When the four parts were placed at intervals not exceeding fifty meters and activated, they would form a vacuum zone where Soul Servants couldn't be used.

"Why didn't you use this thing before?" Ning Fan asked puzzled.

"The Spirit Suppressor takes at least twenty minutes to activate," Wen Cai explained. "So it can only be set up in advance. We can't use it directly during a capture."

Ning Fan pondered for a moment.

"How many of these devices do you have?"

"Two sets." Wen Cai held up two fingers. "How to arrange them is up to you."

"Alright," Ning Fan had already made a plan. "Then let's start setting up now!"

"So early?" Wen Cai was surprised. "That guy just ran out less than two hours ago. Is it possible he'll come back so soon?"

"It's hard to say," Ning Fan looked out the window. "He's a madman. We can't judge him by normal standards."

"Then if he really comes back, doesn't that mean you're a madman too?" Wen Cai teased, looking at Ning Fan. "Otherwise, how could you guess the thoughts of a madman?"
