“Why won’t you take me as your apprentice master?” he asked me, his eyes were watery, something to expect from a portly man like him
“Don’t get me wrong, I will teach you, but not as a master, but as a teacher would. You will not be my apprentice, but my student.” As much as I hated this portly man, I need him to help me this time, since I’ve been kind of out of sync with this world now. A bit of equivalent exchange if you will.
The portly wizard suddenly showed a very bright smile, and his eyes are kinda sparkling all of a sudden. Ahhh dame~ stop, an old man like you shouldn’t show me something like that.
“I promise to understand and properly learn all your teachings, teacher!” he then said as he once again held both of my hands.
“errr…. Right, so as you now know, I have not been in the mortal plane for around a thousand years now, and as such I don’t have any backgrounds to the kingdoms that might exist now, tell me how the Stonehall Empire is now? It was the empire which I served, and the empire that ruled this area.” I asked as to know the fate of my home country, for a few minutes they haven’t said anything.
“Well…. Supreme Magus… actually this is the only refuge of the former Stonehall Empire, all of it’s former territories have seceded, only the Stonehall and This city, the city of Vanadia are left of the once vast empire.” The stubby viscount said.
“Let me think for a moment…” I said as I contemplated about what I would do next. Since the Empire has already degraded to only the City of Stonehall and this city, it seems that I cannot continue with my plan. Since in my plan I needed to travel the empire to recover some stuff I have left behind a thousand years before.

I look at the “Wizard of the west” and motioned my hand to let him come forward.
“What do you need master?” He whispered.
“I actually want an audience with the emperor, king, or whoever is in charge of the kingdom now.” I replied and he immediately brought out a whistle and blew on it, afterwards he wrote a message on a piece of paper and made the viscount sign the letter alongside his name. a few minutes after an owl entered the room and he attached the letter to the owl and told him to go to the royal palace.
“It is done master, I have informed them that we would arrive as soon as possible, where do you plan to stay for now master?” he said to me as he sat down on the chair in front of me.
“I actually plan to go to one of my stashes nearby for now, to check on some equipment I have left, if it’s still there that is. How long will the owl reach the capital? By your estimates that is.”
He paused a bit, maybe he’s calculating it.
“It will be around half a day or so.” He answered
“Well then,” I faced the viscount “Viscount, I plan on taking the Wizard of the West with me-“
“Call me Jaras” the Wizard said
“Uhmm… Jaras will be coming with me to my stash, do you need him for something today?”
“Not at all Supreme Magus, please take him if you wish, I can also lend you some of my guardsmen to guide you if you like!” the viscount answered.
I looked at the militia men around us, there were around 9 here, but none of them fit into the criteria of what I was looking for.
“Do you have any guardsmen that is highly adept with ranged weapons? Preferably keen weapons.”
“We only have one, if you’d like I can call upon him now.”
“Sure, sure, and also I would like something else.”
“What would you like?”
“I want to eat some meat.”
